You always give us great ideas Katrina, using the margarine tub and teapot would work well to keep your yarn in one place. You'll have fun dying the bare yarn with your daughter and granddaughter. Great haul, thank you for sharing.

Thanks for sharing. I have used an empty Clorox wipes container as well as an empty pretzel rod container. Have a nice weekend.

Tina told me that she used a Clorox wipes container, too. I never thought of that, but it would work better than the margarine tube.

    .Morning Katrina,
What great ideas. I've used the margarine tub. So much better than rolling around at our feet!!
I've just purchased a new yarn gadget that may be going someone's way later this year! Cough cough.
Can't wait to see the colours you use on the bare yarns. Be interesting to see how the white takes the colours compared to the bare, creamy coloured yarn.
Nice quiet weekend ahead, hopefully. But I probably shouldn't have written that! Lol.
    Take care xxJane 🐑🌼

It is a quiet weekend here...so far. LOL We have a busy day at church tomorrow. Dave and I are singing during the service and we have a meeting in the evening before evening services. We pick Mom up and take her with us in the morning.

Great haul!! I really need to dye some yarn. I saw someone use an old crock pot to do it and I have an old crock pot that I can totally use. You can also use an old Clorox or Lysol wipes container to hold your skein of yarn. Since it already has a thread hole, you can just put a regular skein inside and pull from the center. As it gets used, it's not going to flop around like a fish out of water since it's contained in a tighter space :). I saved a few for that reason

Great idea!! I never thought of one of those, but it would work great.

I did put rubber grippy on the bottom of my yarn holder. I almost bought a little tea pot at the flea market yesterday to use as a yarn bowl but it was just plain so decided to wait for a cute flowered one.

Flea markets and cheaper antique shops are great places to look.

My Grandma Pat, who taught me to knit, always used an oatmeal box for a yarn caddy. You just poke a hole in the plastic lid and thread the yarn through.

That would work well, especially for skeins like Premier Yarns, etc.

Looking forward to your yarn dying session. Enjoyed seeing your haul. I am in a slump right now. I think the heat is a factor. We have no ac. Ugh.
