You should be caulking under the chrome & channels or water will be getting in. Same with the channel weatherstrip, it needs to be glued & sealed. It was sealed from the factory.
Describe, I'm really struggling with my. Appreciate it weather stripping on my El Camino. Had a shop installed and I don't think they put it in right. Think the windows sit on the outside of the seals and I cannot get them adjust it out
I'm about to be doing this in the next week. Only question I have. Did you replace the foam that went between the weatherstrip tracks? What thickness did you use?. Also the chrome piece at b pillar had something as well. Did you replace it? Just want to make sure I've got this right
It would absolutely be a good idea to replace that foam, but no, we didn’t. As far as thickness goes, something pretty thin would have to be used. Thanks for watching!
We have been getting most everything on this project from ThePartsPlaceInc.com. They seem to have good quality stuff, and their selection of parts that you can’t seem to find anywhere else is pretty good.
I don’t remember off the top of my head, but most everything else we got for the car came from the parts place inc., so I would imagine the weatherstripping did, too
It’s been long enough now since we ordered it that I don’t remember, but I believe it came from Thepartsplace.com. Good prices, and pretty good quality stuff.
anyone ever ask you if you are related to Kyle Voson from fab forums? Im sure you have probably seen his stuff at one time or another. You sure remind me of him for some reason.

You can use urethane on the bac side b pillar trim and a dab around each screw locations on back side of the trim
Working On 86 Olds 442 having heck of a time finding proper window beltline molding any suggestions

So da weather strip glue is just an option?
It’s a good idea to use it to hold the ends in place.
Hey bud where did you get the weather stop?
I don’t remember off the top of my head, but most everything else we got for the car came from the parts place inc., so I would imagine the weatherstripping did, too
Where did you get the weatherstripping?
It’s been long enough now that I don’t remember for certain, but I believe it came from www.thepartsplaceinc.com
eBay also has them for a real good price. Just bought a whole set for 119.00
Any links to where you got your parts from

I did all this now my doors have a hard time closing
Because now you have thicker weatherstripping compared to the smashed out worn original. They will press in and contour to the window in due time.
Me too
