I have just recently rewatched BtVS and this is one of my fave scenes. I just wish this vid included the first time Angel saw Buffy and started observing/stalking her. He really fell in love with her.
It started with season 6. Forget all that sex crap & other bad things they did. When buffy died he took care of dawn bc buffy asked him to without a soul, he loved her without a soul even in his weird way. No matter what he was the only one that stayed by her side especially the entire 7th season even when friends & sister turned on her. And then he died for her & for the sake of the world. He was honest about how imperfect he was. Without his soul he loved buddy, without his soul angel wanted to harm buffy & everyone around her. It’s just more impressive to me that a demon with no soul could love his mortal enemy. I don’t have nothing against Bangel tho lol

Never understood this episode. Angel follows her and tries to protect her in most episodes even tho she's a slayer with powers and yet when she's ready to go home WITHOUT powers, he's stays in and doesn't follow or make sure she's safe. She's an established slayer at this point so she has enemies who knows who she is. She's vulnerable now but he let's her go alone lol

Angel can’t be everywhere. Even for Buffy. He was probably off fighting some other evil thing that would have threatened her or innocent people eventually.

after when Buffy is going thru of her strength is being dropped to below and ask Angel about when she’s no longer a slayer why would he like her, then Angel tells her the truth in something he would ever wanna say to her..😏 in deep stalk secret he be getting his asskicked but because for going thru pain and vulnerably damsel in distress now also was brave of him to confess in poetically touched 😍👍( from Season 2 finale while still as homeless despite of creeping stalk in Shakespeare tale😂 on how it all begin and admits in back door of pilot how he saw her outside of the high school before transfer to Sunnyvale without being spotted in the car protected under from the sun and by trailing her around successfully as like her guardian protector at least til meet in person first time in the pilot only sure was sassy but wasn’t a threat then was deeply cautious for her safety as to becoming a slayer when seems to happen between both but it’s how it works in the land of fantasy horror dimension, and they both agree how taken littary incredibly gross Lol!😂🤣🤣!!👏

She could have died. And they could of done that by asking her to do the special training instead of going babe her head. Especially when none of them know what it's like to be in the field. And buffy has dealt with many crazy random and put if the blue situations with her smarts and being calm. This was juts their weird power high to take away a slayers powers.
They should have given her the heads up, not spring this on her by surprise. That was cruel and irresponsible and it could have gotten her killed. It wasn’t about honing Buffy’s skills for the Council, it was another method of controlling her.
Okay did no one pick up on the human age difference between Angel and Buffy. Angel was turned at 24, Buffy was a teenager when “called” 15 yrs old.. maybe not even. She’s 15 at the start of the series she could have been 14 when “called” as she seemed to have some experience fighting vamps. If he loved her as soon as he saw her and must’ve been lurking (ew Edward Cullen vibes) Then that would mean a teenage girl had a relationship with a 24 yr old man. That would never fly today.
Honestly with all the stuff that's come out about Whedon it's made all the age gap stuff and some other elements harder to stomach. It's part of why I haven't rewatched it in a while

I remember being 25 and looking at these celebrity kids coming into adult hood acting like they knew who they were and didn’t need anyone telling them what to do and I would just sorta chuckle, I remember thinking the same thing at that age. You have no idea what your doing at 18, heck at 32, I barely know what I’m doing.
Angel was nearly 27 when he was turned. But that age isn't established until Angel the series season 1. In Buffy Seasons 1-3, Angel' sage is ambiguosly left at college senior (21-22). Because Buffy is about a highschool girl, it's the standard college guy thing. But once Angel had his own show about adulthood, he had to be aged up so Cordelia wasn't older than him by season 3. Angel needed to be the oldest/most experienced one in his series, so he had to get aged up. Buffy is 16 when the series starts, her birthday is in January (Capricorn on the cusp of Aquarius). And the movie takes place in the fall of the same year. She runs away to Las Vegas until Christmas (from the comics), Dawn reads her diary and her parents send her to the psyche ward when she returns around new years. After Buffy gets out of the Psyche ward, Buffy's mom moves them to Sunnydale between March and April. If Angel saw her called, he saw her when she was 15. (Still gross, but not illegal gross) Also, Angel had no idea she existed until a literal angel (that's what balance demons are assumed to be) shows him Buffy. Like The Buffy/Angel thing is still creepy. But it's the kind of creepy we all experienced in highschool where a friend dated a college guy. The main thing is, the show didn't make it clear Buffy thought of herself as a terminal patient. Because it does with subtext but not with actual obvious stuff. Buffy and Angel kiss once, he vamps out and the whole thing is strained for the rest of S1(not actually a relationship and that could be viewed as Angel trying to chase Buffy away from him). It's not until Buffy dies in the S1 finale that her and Angel actually start something serious (and it still takes a few months before they actually date). So Angel was done holding back because he knew Buffy could die at any time. It was when Angel realized Buffy could still live a long life that he left. As someone who's worked around terminal patients, people tend to let them get away with things you wouldn't normally let a teen do. And Joss only really writes the S1 premeire/finale, the big Buffy/Angel episodes in S2 and a handful in S3. By season 4, he was pretty much working on Angel/Firefly instead and was rarely on set. David Greenwalt, Jane Espenson, Marti Noxon. They all have just as much, if not more responsiblity for writing the characters. People also need to compare Buffy to shows written at the same time, because while yes it is starting to get dated in a few areas, at least it's not unwatchable cringe horror like you get watching a comedy from the 80's/90's. Compare Buffy (Xander specifically) to American Pie characters and holy crap, Xander is a beacon of feminism support (as he was intended to be written.).
