    That person on Facebook obviously has no clue how to airbrush. Either that or he or she was just being an ass. Probably the latter. I think you are a master airbrush artist and I love watching your channel. Ignore the haters!!!

    Great information, Bill! I saw somewhere that someone used Fantastic to reduce their paints. I have tried it and it works great to get good flow. However as you mentioned I worried about the art lasting using a "soap" to thin the paint. So I have stopped using it to reduce my paints, but I do still use it to clean my brush. It seems to work great, does not harm the brush (I have had that happen to me that the cleaner damaged my brush). And I am still learning how to adjust my paint using the clear to maintain body but allow that slow buildup. Oh, and bye the way, I've watched enough of your videos to know, you can do dagger strokes!!! LOL Don't pay any attention to haters!! Those of us who follow you know you are a great artist!!

      No worries at all. Thank you. Ive got pretty thick skin... and a decent sized portfolio of work to fall back on :)
      I actually tried fantastik. I found it too slick.. and in an adhesion test it was not favorable. Sure it flowed great. Unfortunately just because something flows well, doesnt mean you should use it. Of course it might also depend on what im painting on what im willing to take a chance on.

    I have dabbled with airbrushing for a few years now, when I have the time and I've watched a good few tutorials.
    Since I came across your videos I've been hooked. I'm learning a lot from them and I like your style (although you ain't no Brad Pitt my friend) ☺
    Got to admit your videos are making me understand that it's not all just about blowing paint onto a surface and aiming for a great painting but ending up with just a painting that gets shoved in a drawer never to be seen again until after the bucket has been kicked...only problem is haven't done any painting in my spare time 'cos I'm hooked on watching the tutorials.
    Thanks for Making things a lot clearer.

    Great videos. You do some amazing airbrushing art. This is coming from an artist myself. I really like the videos on the Point Zero airbrush reviews. I'm looking to get an economy Mac valve airbrush, cause my budget can't afford to replace my expensive Iwata brushes parts at the moment. There's just something about taking something budget friendly and tweaking it to work like a top shelf product. Would love to see some more videos on the Point Zero guns with the bigger needle sizes as well. Maybe customizing them with the PS 770 needle an such, maybe not the whole head assembly. Thanks keep the videos Rollin! Got that notification bell turned on!

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Shane. I actually slightly modified my point zero mac valve just a little bit after I made the video on it! Other than that I polished the needle. I used that brush regularly for a month, now its not that I stopped but i dont even use my real micron every day either :) I will shortly post the modification I made to the mac valve. although i really should have followed the whole process... and the question becomes do i really wanna spend another 30 bucks just so i can document that?
      Thank you for the kind words!

    Your talking about water paints, do you paint with thinner paints?

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do not use solvents in art anymore. If I do use solvent paints they are urethanes. The same rules apply about pressure and reducer. And you can get a clear base for those as well. Of course with solvents they actually mix thinner and clean up easier than water based... if you have a safe place to use them.

    • @MrLasse100
      @MrLasse100 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks fore talking about this, some times I really struggle with the water based paints, tip dry, and to thick or not enough paint. There’s one thing that might make things easier but I have not tried yet, fixing the needle, polishing the needle, have you tried this and if yes how do you do it?

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrLasse100 I have polished needles before. I dont usually bother. Unless I damage one or if it comes from the factory a little rough.
      Tip dry is a fact of life with airbrushes, and it gets better and you learn to keep it at bay over time. A sponge with reducer /cleaner on it and dipping the tip regularly can help a lot!

    Do you have a video or a link for the magnetic surface you are using - the magnet on glass in a previous video isn't exactly something I'd trust just any old thing to do. 😉

    • @TheAIRspace

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      well the answer was in the video. if your getting grainy dry spray one of two things are happening.. your shooting way high pressure and drying before it hits the surface.. or more than likely need to reduce pressure and get in closer with a bit more reduction.

    Quick question buddy, when usin Candy 2o is there anything besides 4040 bleed checker I can use temporarily for bleed through? I have some ordered (4040) and thought I had more but I’m out. Anyway all I use is Createx line ( Wicked,illustration,airbrush colors ect ect) I have transparent base,4030 intercoat, matte and gloss top coat, I pretty much have everything BUT my bleed checker lol any of those work for me?

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      the wicked transparent base if sprayed with no reducer will contain bleeding a bit. not 100 percent.

    what is the difference between reducer and flow medium?? I'm new, and paint on mostly wood, as a woodcarver. I am not an artist like you. but, trying to learn and when I mix paint for a bird, I want to be able to save that in a small jar for a few days. then flow medium??

    • @TheAIRspace
      @TheAIRspace  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A flow medium to not get too technical, helps break surface tension of the "water" or binder. Most mediums called flow medium are a thinner binder with a little added product to make it "slippery" They also generally are retarders that stop the paint from drying as fast. Reducer usually has something to break the paint down, as well as usually a small amount of a retarder and occasionally a little something to make it slippery. But there is usually no acrylic binder in a reducer.
      Water can be a reducer. So can alchohol.
      Without knowing your brand of paint I cannot even guess on shelf life after mixing with reducer. MOST in a sealed container will hold a couple of days.

      @@TheAIRspace thank you, I have been watching some video's on painting ducks, and the artist said (and I just received a bottle) to add flow medium when you mix the paints. about 60 med to 40 paint. he said this helps him keep paint for a few months. I don't need it that long, but, we have well water and have to buy distilled. thanks again, i'm 75 and learning slowly
