The alchemists delineated four stages of spiritual growth that describe the mystical transformation of the soul: the chaotic blackening of Nigredo, the field-clearing whitening of Albedo, the mature yellowing of Citrinitas, and the final stage of the Great Work: the reddening of Rubedo.
Jungian alchemy provides a symbolic framework for individuation, connecting ancient alchemical traditions with analytical psychology to illustrate the psyche's transformative process toward individuation. CG Jung saw alchemical imagery as symbols for inner psychological processes, where the work of transforming base metals into gold paralleled the transformation of unconscious material into conscious awareness.
This alchemical process deepens our understanding of confronting our shadow, inspires us to differentiate our true desires from those that were pushed into us, motivates us to seek and apply wisdom then abide in an optimized state where we can be helpful to others. By exploring these symbols, Analytical psychology offers insight into the stages of psychological maturation that restores original access to the Self, the true center from which our authentic thoughts and feelings emerge.

I think the key is trusting in "Resurrection". You will not have the courage to Dissolve or patience to Wait without the Trust in Transformation Process (to become a "butterfly")

One thing that immediately came to mind when you were discussing these colors is the Native American medicine wheel and the colors that represent the four directions are these same that you mentioned 🖤🤍💛❤so cool!

Also some depictions of the kalachakra mandala in tibetan buddhism have those colors for the 4 directions.

Almost every night this week i am in a center of dreams that are full of subtle symbols that show me some kind of transmutation (an individuation, perhaps) has begun. in a country where there are no Jungian Therapists available, your channel comes as a great resource. Thank you.

This was delightful to listen to. I’ve been going through my own shadow work in recent months and years, all the while having no clear sense of what shadow work entails.*
I’ve only recently begun to make the connection between my experience and the concept of shadow work, and this video put a bow on it!
*kind of like how I couldn’t seem to grasp the concept of passive aggression until I realized that it’s the water i’ve been swimming in for 2/3 of my life 😅

Thank you. I've never listened to your videos before, but this video appeared in my feed, at a moment in my life when I've been feeling as if I was sliding backwards. Now I know what is happening. Thank you. 😊

    For fans of twin peaks:
Intriguing that the “red room” in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks has the colours black and white (the chevron floor), red (curtains), and gold (the small golden orb that sometimes features). This realm is somewhat of a between state, of things becoming other things. I know that Lynch is a fan of using meditation and dreams to receive ideas for his creations - and it is curious how he uses these colours, as mentioned in the video.

Thanks again - this was a calming and centering experience before today's 4-hour meditation session, the goal being attentiveness with no intrusive thoughts-'personal emotions'.

Are this four stages successive and distinct, or can they be interconnected ?
