High priced food/drinks, low payouts/bad odds, high minimums, minimal comps, resort fees, parking fees…… sorry Vegas, our family is done.
Plaza, El Cortez, 4Q. Not as much glitz, but way more fun downtown.
Scam
Go to the locals casinos, off-strip. Better odds, lower minimums, cheaper food, free parking.
Wish a lot more people would do that too. Yes, a lot more are "done" but there's still an influx of people that fill that void.
FORKEM
As an ex-casino dealer for more than 15 years, folks,, stay away from any casino gambling. Have a nice meal, but don't gamble, you will lose your money very quickly.
I went to Vegas once about 10 years ago to see some shows ... I played a few games on the slot machines and lost $30, that was it for my gambling "career". 🤣
Gambling is just not my thing as I know the odds are heavily stacked against you from the start.
To the guy above me they aren't heavily stacked against you to start, but over time you are not going to win overall unless you're playing blackjack or other games of skill where the house odds become more reasonable 🤔
@@joebowl8315 Thanks for the correction ... I don't even enjoy gambling, I find it boring.
Rather go to the islands 🏝
I agree, I’m going to Vegas in a couple of days and the only gambling I’m going to be doing is playing Texas Holdem. That way at least I’m not playing against the house with those horrendous odds and minimum bets
I think resort fees is the biggest scam in Vegas. No other bigger scams than resort fees
Charging for self parking
Resort fees are just a way for them to pay less money to booking agencies. If they took away the resort fee they would just raise the room prices.
@@1999bill1999 Not a total scam as it was being abused and adds to security. Getting free parking with validation should be a lot easier though. That part is a scam. If you spend money parking should be free.

Vegas’ allure was that the price used to be justifiable for a long weekend or quick trip without making it a full vacation. You could get there and stay for a reasonable price and then spend your money on experiences, parties, gambling, and drinks. Strip properties now nickel and dime you every chance they get so much that a long weekend in Vegas rivals the cost of a week long vacation to a nice vacation destination. They over estimate how much I enjoy getting price gouged just for the opportunity to lose money in their casinos.
I agree! Vegas has definitely changed over the years since the start of the ridiculous resort fees not to mention the cabana fees and even fees for plain beach chairs if you want you enjoy the pool. Casinos have also gotten stingier with the comps and promos.
Yeah. I've been going to Vegas about 13 years now. Been about 7 - 8 times. It's only gotten worse in that time. I always hear about the glory days of the 90s. Would have loved to have come then.

It's CLASSY how you do "shoutouts" for employees who have been exceptionally gracious to you. Kudos.
Same here. I agree with you 100%. We all know the big dogs running the properties are doing the bare minimum and making the most, but Its the employees working their butts off with high hours and no help that make everything happen, especially when things go wrong. I always go out of my way to make sure the employee experience is great for them and be as little hassle as possible as a customer. I even ask what they need to make their job easier and I tip well. Doing that makes my experiences, even in run down crap holes, a 1000 times better.
@@John_Conner222I agree 1000% more people need to think like you. All these issues that the casinos and hotels cause aren’t on the employees and they need to be treated well. very demure
Yes, it’s funny about that, and it’s not just soppy sentiment. Give more, and get more, not just from the employees.
I take it as a zen experience. What ever happens is an experience, so experience it, watch, and learn. Maybe ask a few questions.
Think have to go pretty badly wrong before I complain. And more often than not, it’s the management, not the employees.
Casinos are a scam to begin with . Imagine putting money into a machine designed to give back as little as possible 😂

They're starting school this year so we should have some extra time but this is quite literally a scam for people like me and it's fucked up. especially considering my generation and newer has a great disdain for gambling in general, so this is only making it worse and confirming the accusations being made constantly.

It should be
If people didn't play it, they wouldn't offer it. It may turn away some guests but not nearly enough, and surely not enough complain either. So keeps squeezing tighter and tighter. Next stop 9:8 🤣
The problem is that low IQ gamblers are playing it and have no CLUE whatsoever that it's SO bad as far as odds. These casual once a year gamblers have ruined it for everyone.

I am stunned at those outrageous minimum bets and low odds. In all honesty, why would anyone go to Vegas to gamble?
honestly , the go to gamble, of course
Atlantic City is going to make a comeback on Vegas
I used to go to Vegas in college and my mid twenties in the early and mid 2000's when I had hardly any money and my friends and I could still afford to sit down at a table at the Bellagio. Now the minimums are just completely out of control. It's actually sad that people are willing to part with their money so easily with these high limit gimmick games.
I'd have a problem with these prices even if I had $200 million dollars. $9 for a snickers in the mini bar? Lol. How generous of them. It's just the principle of basically being fleeced and some people acting like "it's baller" to get nothing for your money is what frustrates me. Yet people continue to come to Vegas for gimmicky carnivale style odds and to get treated like cattle when there are so many other places to gamble now across the country that would treat you better and provide a much better value for your money.
I am not anti Vegas at all it makes me sad to write this and I miss my trips there but how much more are people going to take? I signed off a few years ago and am not coming back until things change. And things won't change until enough people start saying no to this to where it impacts the bottom line. Vegas doesn't exist solely on the highest of high rollers.

I was born in Clark County, NV. My parents always shared, winning in a casino is not likely. Enjoy the food, play a little pocket change and get out.
Too bad now the food is overpriced.
There used to be inexpensive buffets and drinks that casinos would use to entice people to play. But those are largely history now. I can't believe how high prices there have gotten. There must be tons of rich people to support the prices in Vega$.
Years ago I booked a fountain view room and paid a fair bit extra. At check in I was downgraded and didn’t get the fountain view I paid for. Nor did the hotel refund me the difference. I don't know if they still do this, but MGM will give you Pearl status if you bring a copy of your DD-214 to prove you're a veteran. It's a great way to get free parking for very little effort. Caesars use to do that as well, bumping you up to their level 2. (I forget what it is.)
They do this for credit holders too, but Caesars takes away the status if you don't re-earn the tier at the end of the year.

No they hide it. Casual gamblers wouldn't notice. Not all casinos hide it and not all have triple zero
Outstanding Review!! I can't afford to stay at the Bellagio, mostly stay at Horseshoe due to comps. But I ALLWAYS visit Bellagio and have seen "O" several times, as I truly love that Cirque show, the conservatory is always fantastic as well. You really covered some great points for the Bellagio. Even if you just walk thru the property, it's an amazing space. ALSO- I must agree with you on the REWARDS desk employes. WOW, they are the MOST helpful period. STAY SAFE!!
Those table minimums are truly predatory. There's probably no reason the minimum can't be a dollar. I watch Abbott and Costello bet with 10 or 20 dollars in the 40s, and I'm like "I can't imagine betting that much money". Why are the minimums so absurdly high? Is this a "rich people casino" (whatever that would be) or what? It's so weird that they would make gambling so unaffordable for 80+ percent of the USA.
Are drinks still free at the tables?
If you're going to gamble in Vegas, the better value is to gamble in downtown. The Strip is a tourist trap. Surprising, I know lol.
No more Hyde and Bank club, but the Pinky Ring lounge by Bruno Mars is the most fun place with DJ and Live music I've been to in a while! Usually free entry unless you want a table as well :)
😎
Slots have also become absolutely HORRIBLE. I’ve played many properties. Dozens of slots from $1-$10 a spin. Hundred of spins. No or minimal line pays. No features. Features that literally pay $2 on a $6 bet after 60-70 spins. Something is really, really off. It doesn’t feel like “gambling” anymore. When it’s spin spin spin…zero. It feels like being cheated. Vegas is done. Corporate greed has ruined it.
Right! Quite a while ago I played Texas Tea at an Indian casino and hit the bonus about every 5 spins! It was so awesome. You literally couldn’t lose.
$100 minimum for 3:2 BJ is just plain greedy. LV was built on 3:2 BJ and it was ok for 80+ years but now they want to squeeze you with 6:5 and Triple 000 roulette. Until people push back they're just going to keep bleeding average Joes. Don't play these games - insist on 3:2 or go and find a casino that has 3:2 tables - they still exist.
Amen!
The best blackjack on the strip is 3 to 2 blackjack at the Strat with $10 minimum during the day and $15 at night. 6 to 5 blackjack is for suckers but unfortunately the tables are filled with $50 players doing the 6 to 5
The move is Station Casinos properties in the future. They're mostly local favorites, but they'll be expanding their properties by nearly 2x over the next 10 years.
Red rock and GVR are their flagship luxury properties, with Durango being the newest addition. Make em the popular choice, and you won't regret it.
Obligatory $2 BJ road sign.
@@lennyanders1639 TI has good blackjack also. They hawk the games like crazy though if you;re counting.
their high limit pit is often 25 min during the day and it's a rare 3:2 das s17 double deck game.
Stayed there back in March and surprisingly got my whole weekend comped (mgm rewards platinum tier, and I usually go to Vegas 3-4 times a year), but I don’t think I’d stay there again. Odds were horrible at the tables and seems like all the restaurants close around 10. Bellagio is nice but feels like it’s more catered to the older crowd. Always will suggest Prime Steakhouse though!
Great video! I learned things I hadn't seen before, thanks Jacob!
You're welcome! Glad the content is useful!
Vegas Boxing Coach here, nice work!! This is why people who lnow what theyre doing in industries like mine never play or even eat in Casinos unleas its comped. 😂
Raise the "Handpay" limit already.
$1,200 is a fn joke.
Yea I never understood that, wouldn't you want the people to be hitting max bet as much as possible instead of the delays of handy pays?
@@sunfarmer1797 I think that's an IRS regulation - we used to have to issue a W2G for a Slot payout of $1200 or more.
Agreed, waste of everyone's time; especially when obese i/n/j/u/n tribe employee take a nap before they pay you out.
I stayed at Bellagio in April and loved it. I stayed in the spa tower and had zero issues, and I was on the 17th floor. I especially liked that there was security. I checked in early and they had a room ready for me in 10 minutes for no additional fee. Staff was wonderful.
Pro tip: If you're a soda guy, you can get a Coke at Snacks for $6 and if you keep the cup, lid, and your receipt, you can get unlimited free refills all day long. I tipped $2 every time I got one, because that's what you do. Take care of the staff. They remember, and they really appreciate it. $2 for a soda at Bellagio is a steal.
Charge EVERYTHING to your room. If you gamble even just in the slightest on the slots, you'll probably get it back and then some in comps. You don't have to be a high roller to get comps. I can always tell in the comments the complainers are the ones who don't gamble.
From my experience, you're not going to see many kids at the Bellagio pool at any time of the day, so if that's your concern, don't sweat it.
The only bad experience I had at Bellagio was the douchebag TH-camr (not Jacob) that was live-streaming me and talking shit. If anything is ruining Vegas, it's fucking TH-camrs. Jacob's one of the better ones, but there are a lot of bad ones, and I'm glad the casinos are starting to '86 them, especially when all they do is bad mouth.
I'll be staying at Bellagio every chance I get. Cheers.
Please tell us who the YT er.was.
Probably can get some booze at the supermarket to add to the coke too for a few dollars more 🙂
@@gwyn111 this is the way! ☝️
That was a huge stain on the spread. First thing I do is roll back the spread. No telling where that things been.
The SLO MO Pool Fountain shot 😂
everything about vegas is a scam.

Ahhhh...... Jacob, I owe you a drink! Bellagio is our favorite place for us, my wife & I wondered how we could get to that balcony by the conservatory, that will be our 2nd stop when we return in March!
8 years ago i would be drinking free bottles of beer in their sports book while tipping $1-3 esch time. Usually we woukd tip $10 right off the bat and the server would come by more often. Now you have to bet a minimum of probably $100-$150 and you get a drink ticket for free. Absolutely assinne.
yes atlantic city has only 1 horse room in borgota coupons used and not like before and they are fixing the book now room
I’ve been to Vegas 3 times. 1985, 1999 and 2011. The house has always had the edge, but back in 85, they at least made it fun and gave good value on food & entertainment. On my last visit, there was nothing remotely fun or intriguing about the town. Service was bad, food was expensive & mediocre. Junk fees EVERYWHERE. People think Vegas is twins having a pillow fight. The reality is that it’s a money grubbing, miserable excuse for a city, running off the momentum of the past. Sooner or later, people are going to wise up and there’ll be no more suckers to take advantage of.
You forgot I am Jacob , this is my life in Vegas 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
My wife and I absolutely love the Bellagio. Also, the steakhouse is excellent food and service!
WHEN JACOB DROPS ITS UP !
Enjoy the video. Signed up for the others stuff because… you gave shout outs to the hotel employees. Service workers are forgotten too much. So thank you.❤
I have always loved the Petrosian cocktail lounge (you cover it around 8:40 in the video). Been going there since opening night in 1998. It is the best place for people watching in 'Vegas. Sit down in the piano area, order your favorite cocktail and watch the parade of people go by. I have seen everything. Celebrities, mostly naked people, drunks, and more hysterically funny moments than I can remember. I am a local, we go there a few times a year. Just be sure to spend some time in the casino and gardens to sober up before you leave.
It's definitely a cool spot to hang out in a unique environment
Prices have NEVER been "fair" at Bellagio.
Very interesting for those of us that have never been to Vegas. The video is well done, the narration pacing was perfect! Thanks Again!
Exactly where I am right now! 🤘🏼
My first visit to Vegas years ago, we stayed at the Venetian. Awesome room, beautiful hotel, but expensive as hell for everything. Next visits, we stayed at the Elara. A hidden gem on the Miracle Mile. Had a double bedroom, 2 baths, full kitchen. Before we checked in, went to the local grocery store and stocked up on drinks, snacks, coffee, breakfast food , ice cream, etc. I like coffee as soon as I wake up. And not pay $30 for room service to bring it to my room.
That one week stay was awesome and saved us a ton of money on just breakfast and drinks
That was 5 years ago. Now retired, probably never go back. Its way to expensive, but Im happy with the memories before it got too crazy expensive
I know there's a resort fee at Elara, how much is it now?
Bellagio is worn. I used to stay at Bellagio quite a bit thinking it was a top end resort. In the last year I've stayed at Encore, Wynn, Pallazzo, and the Venetian Tower, and all those rooms were hands down much nicer than the Bellagio rooms. On several different trips I noticed a weird smell in the hallways. Almost like a nursing home smell. 5 years ago I forgot a pair of sunglasses and went into (Optica?) to buy a $350 polarized Maui Jim that the store was selling for $435. I was able to talk the clerk down to list price, which was crazy. $9 for a snickers? No thanks. I'll walk across to CVS and grab one. I do like the "personal shelf" they have in those fridges though. That's actually a nice touch.
My nephew works in the commercial laundry services. That gray stain on the sheet is from fabric softener using baking soda. It’s been done to whiten as we’ll soften the fabric without degrading the cotton itself. This way the hotel wins from years of quality use, the laundry services wins by using a more eco-friendly chemical on our water resources. Win win for all.
Such a banger of a video. Bud please do this for the top ten big casinos. The min/ max plus individual tips/ tricks for the place and the bad bits. I have looked through hundreds of reddit pages to find the info you spelled out nice and simple. Also you pay your way and it shows in your honesty. I'm ex hospitality and now work in healthcare and I trust your information. Last year I never had any problems on the strip as I watched your video's about the areas which can be a tad more shady etc. Felt like a local and was treated like a local because I and the Mrs acted like locals... cheers bud great video.
Jacob,
Your cease and desist letter arriving in 3, 2, 1…
They will probably permanently ban you from every MGM property as well.
Love your work though man.
Stayed at Bellagio, 0 resort fees, all 4 nights comped. 150 food credit 250 freeplay. All they needed was a refundable deposit for the room. I don't know why everyone is so upset. You need to be worth the comp. They won't just give you a comps for playing $500
Must have paid for it 10x with all your losses! They have you on their sucker list 🙂
They're getting their money, one way or another.
@@gwyn111if that story is true then they must have played at least half a million
Thank you, this video got enough of my Bellagio fix for the rest of my life. I still love the structural feel and design of the place, but that is ultimately free to look at lol. 🙏🙏
The strip is fun if it’s your first time and want to get the Vegas experience, but once you’ve been there before, downtown is definitely the better place to go especially if you really like to gamble. My best friend lives in Henderson so I go out there once a year to go visit for a few days, and we always go to Fremont whenever we go gamble now. Way cheaper drinks, 3:2 blackjack and 0 or 00 roulette for way lower table minimums, and just overall a better experience.
Last year at Bellagio, I had to wait 40 minutes for a cocktail server, and another 20 for my drink...and that was AFTER asking other casino employees to alert one for me.
$24 for a fiji water!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Nothing like taking a sip of water from a bottle with an 11X price hike. They have no shame
Don't forget about the $9 Snickers 😎
@@JacobslifeinVegasIn other words Don't get too drunk and snack out lol
1 Fiji Water and 1 Snickers 33$👍🏽
It’s the 225$ cashew nuts that take the cake.
Awesome stuff Jacob! Wife and I are coming sept and we have zero clue how to play craps but after watching we will Be taking the class! We have always wanted to learn…
Have fun!
Holy Crap Jacob, using the property's logo as 000 is very misleading on the Triple 0 Roulette table!
The Bellagio is one of the worst values in Vegas. It is relying on an outdated reputation... one that has not been valid since its first 5 years of existence. I recommend trying any of the newer properties... even if a little more expensive, they offer so much more value for money.
Wife and I stayed there for our anniversary some years ago. It had been our dream stay at the time. We were highly disappointed in it. We got complimentary trips to the buffet and were very glad we didn’t pay for it, the food was terrible. And the customer service everywhere we went in the hotel was just blah. Literally every other hotel we’ve stayed at had better customer service. While we love going there and seeing the conservatory and the fountains(we see those every trip), we will never stay there again.
I haven't spent much time at the Bellagio in my trips to LV, but I do enjoy eating there. Spago is fantastic. Property is phenomenal. I'm not much a gambler so that stuff doesn't affect me much. Love your vids man.
The pool not worth it honestly the best pool is in Mandalay Bay
Hotel Pools are Petrie dishes. Especially ones with club nights.
The Luxor pool is nice, too.
Solid review. I want to make clear that I’m not trashing the Bellagio at all-as it is a beautiful property. However, my biggest issue with the Bellagio is that the common tourist can enjoy A LOT of the major benefits of the hotel without having to be a hotel guest there. The fountains, the conservatory, the high end shops, the nice restaurants…etc. If I were to stay at a luxury hotel-where the vast majority of the public can enjoy a majority of the great attributes of the property-the rooms better be amazing to motivate me to stay there. Unfortunately-in my opinion-the non-suite rooms at the Bellagio fall very short of that expectation. The closet space is kinda a joke, and frankly-the room is pretty “meh” with the exception of the bathroom. I’ve stayed at the Bellagio 10-12x--and I’ve had to change rooms like 3 of those times due to plumbing issues. Also-the prices there are a joke. $9 for a snickers bar? If I wanted to stay at a luxury property in Vegas-for me-it’s going to be the Wynn , the Cosmo or the Venetian. By the way-I hope you mentioned something to the hotel about those stained sheets. That is completely unacceptable-and those stains were easily and clearly visible.
They should hand out complimentary KY jelly at the door.
