I’m 67 year old and this is the first time i see this movie !!! Thank you !!! I like these classics , because you see high level of : music, actors, clothes, story ...etc... L.M. ❤😊❤😊❤😊
You missed the history!
I am 69 and I watched this a few weeks ago and am watching it again. This is a great movie. All of the actors, the writing, the scenery are awesome!
Thanks for the movie.
Our American traditions and history MUST be not only saved, it must be taught to be LOVED not hated to our youth. Or, are we just gonna give it up? Truly?!
At present, there are no revolutionary individuals willing to make a stand! Therefore, the the new morality will continue and the anti- God movement will steamroll until it conquers all that was good and decent! Churches have surrendered to the left along with schools, businesses, media, and every other institution! Only when there are leaders to rise against it, will it change!!
Ya probably
This movie is actually loosely based on an historical event in American history i.e. Pontiac's Rebellion. The deal that ended the French and Indian War in 1763 did not satisfy the Iroquois nations or those of the Great Lakes...and they decided to unite against British rule, meaning the frontier forts. Some tribes, as British allies against the French, used deceit to take some of the forts. Treachery was widespread until both sides became exhausted by the struggle.
Gary Cooper is class!
Any movie with Gary Cooper in it is a masterpiece! ❤
For a movie that was 2 and a half hrs it kept my interest. Glad these movies are still around. Gary cooper: Mr good guy leading man .I wonder what he would think of Hollywood today. It was a spendid movie. !
This movie remains one of my favourites that I still love to watch after all this time.
That to me makes it a true classic.
#😊
Agreed!
This one and Drums Along the Mohawk starring Henry Fonda.
Mine too something special about it I have watched it often and im not one to watch a movie more too many times.

This is one of my all time favorite films when I was a kid. Love the film thank you
Picture perfect acting. This is what happens when actors know their craft.
Really worthy to be called superb in everything about this movie.
Great movie. Beautiful colour and you could understand when people spoke! LOVED GARY COOPER and Paulette Goddard was stunning. Thank you for uploading.
This movie is a gem.
Thoroughly enjoyed this movie always a treat watching Gary cooper and the great boris Karloff
Or how about Marc Lawrence hamming it up as the Iroquois medicine man Sioto?
Thankyou! This movie has always been a favourite. When actors had class and were allowed to ACT, no matter the role!!
When Western Movies definitely has class in the past.
2.5 hrs... Worth every minute.
Yes,
Wow. Great acting, good story, great casting, costumes, sets, photography and on and on.
Exellent story and casting . But diserves a remake , better costumes, sets, photograph, and especially a better look instead of the ridiculous make up.
Wow 👌 didnt want it to end !! Action adventure gr8 story gr8 costuming gr8 acting and what a cast !! Gary Cooper. Paulette Goddard, Ward Bond, Lloyd Bridges even Boris Karloff as an Indian Chief !! Beautiful country/nature scenes !! 👌
Another Cecil's great movie.
"Gary Cooper, now he was the strong silent type." - Tony Soprano
Gary Cooper with a ponytail and high boots in tight trousers, Oh yeah! I loved it when Paulette looked into the camera and said "She must have been Crazy!" Nothing is better than Gary Cooper!
😂😂
Robert Duvall
Beautiful beautiful film! I enjoyed watching immensely. Thank you for sharing..much appreciated❤️
Cooper is always great--TY
Old gold ! A treasure .!
I read this book back in grade school. Wonderful story.

Eu nunca tinha visto esse filme. Muito bom. Clássico, com Gary Cooper. Um longa metragem muito bem produzido.
I Love love this movie !! Discoverd several years ago ..or maybe even when a teenager on Saturday afternoon on TV ...not sure but all I know it's one of the most fabulous movies ever ... awesome scenery & special affects!! Like the waterfall scene!!! Great ... awesome acting on everyone's part love & adored Gary Cooper......all so beautiful ...sad scenes too......but great movie ....you also Re- learn history & geography in ole movies ..and ROMANCES..💚💚💚💚🦋🦋🦋🦋
How come you don't recall when you saw it?? As for the scenary, most is taken inside the sound stage.
Regardless for that, the film is okay.
@@emilsuda4101 because I can't remember this first time I saw this ..was a Re- run maybe on TV at home when I was a teenager..just as I stated....or maybe discovered on Tube when got a cell phone how many years ago now......I thought growing up we watched ole movies I thought I'd seen most of them....not by a long shot..since uploads on the internet have discovered lots of wonderful ones..I still think this is fabulous ...sets & special affects
Don't rely on learning any history from this film.
@@hrfardan66 The color is grand on this picture, isn't it?
Enjoyed that it shows an era of British control in America not depicted nearly as much as later periods. When the West began at the border of Pennsylvania. Also that it portrays another angle of slavery that is counter to the more simplistic narrative we get today.
You got that right!
When movies had class
Amen. When men were men, and women were women
Most of the stuff that Hollywood make nowadays is trash anyways
Sick "woke" ideology ...needs to go
Before the democrats destroyed this country.
Thank you Soo much Absolute Westerns ." Just read the synopsis...Jesse lasky,Jr " one of the writers,!! His Dad JesseLasky Started Paramount.....!!!
Very good movie. Great acting.
Thrilling entrance- "the gentlemen are dead"!. (and i 'm a Sassenach who loves the Bagpipes!).
Thank you for sharing

LOVED IT!OLD GARY N OLD GIRL NICE ACTING GLORY SENGO ❤
Looking back in time, there are so many folk put into unmarked Graves on the east central part of the United States. This is a great movie for all to enjoy
The tension is massive.
Real good classic.
Thank you for this wonderful movie ❤
I've never seen this movie. Very good and worth watching! Thank you! Great actors and many who went on to fame as well. Paulette was a class actress!
An Absolute Classic 💯
Thanks for sharing it! I always enjoy watching Great Old Movies though. 👍👌👏
An of course, I'm a subscriber!
Thanks Again Though.
Amazing quality in this version here posted!
Wow, almost didn't recognize Boris Karloff!!
A fantastic old time adventure film and cast to match. Gary Cooper was a childhood favourite for me, Paulette Goddard is gorgeous and the dependable Ward Bond, what's not to love?
And brilliant to see the Union Jack flying high and the sound of the pipes and the Black Watch coming to the rescue, you Yanks should have stuck with us!
rangerista3933, you made me smile.
I agree ,Ward Bond was an actor who should have gotten all of the same highest honors actors like John Wayne. You get Bond and Wayne in the same movie. Of which there were many. And throw in Maureen O'Hara and you had a movie worth watching.❤😊
The Black Watch were all dead.
@@hrfardan66 They still served their country, didn't they?
@@rangerista3933 We are talking about a movie. A band and a few wagonloads of dead soldiers were used to trick Indians into stopping their attack on Fort Pitt. It was only a movie, and as usual for Cecil B. DeMille, a far-fetched one at that. And you want to fight our Revolution all over again? Get over it already. We won.
Great Movie, Thanks for sharing!
Talent
That was a great movie, love every minute of it. Keep them coming, you have a new sub here.
Old, but a bloody great movie😅
Thank you. Find some more great westerns. ❤
This movie is not a western.
Maybe not that many people know a lot about Paulette Goddard but was amazing beauty and start playing next to Charlie Chaplin on the silent movies
I'm sorry not entirely true ..CC yes in SILENTS of coarse but not Paulette. .she was his wife at one point & yes a great beauty
@AngeloSurmis
Actually, she costarred with CC in the 1936 movie Modern Times, which he made as a silent movie for his artistic reasons at the time.
great movie enjoyed thnx
I see in the credits Iron Eyes Cody was the Indian consultant for this picture. We all know ol Iron Eyes was 100% Italian born and came to the states and did a masterful cultural appropriation with his redskin racket. A real actor amongst actors.
All western movies was great !!
This is not a western.
the second tune, "The Barren Rocks of Aden" was written a hundred years later. But well played. One of the Pipers was Mr William Reid
Great movie thanks
Excellent 😊
Good movie, they don't make movies this picture anymore.a true American classic.
Wild how those squalls retaliated on her when Cooper was rescuing her
Squaws.
Amazing movie 🎥🎥🎥🎥
Thank you for posting. I don't know if you're aware, but there's a good chunk of the beginning missing. It explains a lot.
Good movie
the image quality of this 'old' western is actually state of the art. if this was possible in 1947 why do we have low quality almost faded quality? I guess I just answered my question. This is a state of the art movie, so superior to the digitised nonsense we have as offerings today. Art succumbs to profit.
Excellence in storytelling
Love the costumes. And the way Garys slave girl has perfect make up...even when she is tied to the stake. Fun fantasy film, like a cartoon love these movies
Lloyd Bridges is also in this movie at 108.
For me, the best actor was Boris Karloff portraying the Indian chief.
All around an excellent movie.....
Excelente
True classic 😊
Honestamente, ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🏕🏕🏕🏕🏕🏕🏕🏕🏕🏕🏕🏕🏕🏕🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🛤🛤🍀
Boris Karloff as an Indian chief is a hoot.
What! The part isn't being played by an actual Indian Chief who lived at that time, in that space, and has his papers? Destroy this film. Hunt down and destroy the remaining family membets of everyone who has watched this movie. This is racist as hell. I demand it. I am not native American, but I speak tor ALL of them. I am a progressive and I know what is best for them. Poor childlike things.
@2:23:25 Garth (Howard da Silva), "She's coming with me." The the answer, Holden (Gary Cooper), "Where you're going, you're going alone." No yelling or screaming, no threatening, just simple talk, still it is menacing in its simple way and very effective. They just don't write dialog this way anymore.
Because most don't know *how* to write!!
@@jessstone7486 Quite right. At military tech-school in the early 1970's we were trained on a tenth-grade level, which is rather high considering that the trainees came from the entire continent coast-to-coast. I spoke with someone who was trained in the military in the late 1990's and he said that they were taught on an eighth-grade level; quite a difference.
And I dont know why people want movies like this to escape the reality of their day for a bit.
That's because new writers can't write. They have no imagination. It is limited by gender, equity, inclusion ad infinitum, ad nauseum. That's one reason they have to rehash old scripts. No frigging talent. These fools know pronouns, but not prose.
1.47.21 I would be VERY happy in a little place like that ; also pleased they both have compassion for the little dog.
I don't know if this should really be called a western , it was set in the east, But it is a great film staring one of my favorite actors,Gary Cooper , made many a great Western
Great Movie ❤❤❤❤❤
Filmes ótimos. ( good Movie ) congratulation.
Wow! Garry Cooper, Marlin Brando, Antonio Bandaras, and Omar Sharif were all magnificent in this movie!
Sorry only Gary Cooper in this great movie
@@karenhill3970
Plus Ward Bond and a very young Lloyd Bridges.
Eu assisti quando era uma adolescente, na TV l dublado em português. Gostaria de assistir novamente.
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💖💖💖💖thank you
настоящее красочное киноискусство из 20 - ого века
amazing, people who knew these movies don't go anymore, and jollywood doesn't know why
A early American frontier classic. You can see some the same ideas used in filming of " Last of the Mohicans ".
They sure don't make movies like that anymore!
Hard to believe...76 years old?
Thank god Paulette didn't get the Scarlett O'Hara role!
Very. Nice. Clasaic. One. 🎉🎉🎉💢💥💫👌👍👌👍
Awsome movie😅😊
Ich bin Dankbar...........
Comanches and Apaches and... Garry Cooper alone !! HAPPY NEW YEAR !! 👊🎅🎁
5:36 Paulette was such a beautiful woman!
The greats.
I'm glad Boris Karloff found his niche....and it was playing an Indian Chief. 😅😂
Never saw this one !
Boris is there !!!
Great movie!... and i have to - STEELER NATION! :)
This Movie Reminds me of US. Politics.
Most probably the men portrayed in those scenes back then represent the ancestors of todays dheep stayte.
@@Songwriter376 excuse me but NO ..THOSE MEN ( SOME IN This!! SCENE ...GEN GEORGE WASHINGTON!!!ARE OUR Founding FATHERS for this great Country ) THEY ARE THE ORIGINAL WRITERS OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE.....WHICH OF Coarse IS DEMOCRACY that is Washington our very FIRST PRESIDENT !))..so no you are very wrong & confused ....🇺🇸
☺️☺️☺️ le 27 07 23 . Dommage que ce très beau film ne soit pas en version française !!! Cécil Blount de mille , Paulette Godard , Gary Cooper ...
Gary Cooper is the ultimate Western hero but this movie is not a western.
Alongside Randolph Scott.
@djamelbouch3670 I'm in total disagreement. Scott was too soft, most of his westerns are for under 12 children. But it's all about opinions. Fonda, Lancaster....
👍🏻my Western night
Why post a bloody movie if you are going to destroy it with commercials ..... brutal
❤❤❤❤❤
