  • Also, kinda finished this earlier in the year. Finish on the top didn't come out as much as I wanted so this one stays with me I guess. Didn't bother with a back plate either. Only took me 2 years to complete.

    This build started as a something to do while I was working at a workshop in Sydney. Ending up moving interstate so this project got shelved.

    Top: Kauri Pine (from a cabinet)
    Top: Fabric (@missmatatabifabric )
    Neck: Qld Maple
    Fretboard: Madagascar Rosewood
    Pickups: Orpheus

    Why do you bother using a plane and orbital sander when you have a wide belt sander? Thank you.

      The drum sander only takes off a tiny amount at a time and is not really its intended use for this situation. A thicknesser would be the better option.
      I like hand planes but also a scrub plane would of been a better option.
      So yeah, not having either of the tools more suited for this particular job I just used whatever was available.
      The workshop that im at is setup more for acoustic guitars rather than electrics.
