    what is the reason the transplanted hair falls out initially anyway? why can't it just continue growing like a plant?

    I want to get a hair transplant, but I'm content with having less than a full head of hair. I know I'm not going to get the hair I had 15 years ago. I just wish I could regrow the hair I have lost during the last 8 months or so. I've been using minoxidil for 2.5 months, dutasteride for 5 months and am considering adding LLLT to my hair treatment regimen. Should I get a hair transplant to regain the amount of hair I had 8 months ago? Or should I wait and see whether a small amount of regrowth is possible with my improved regimen? Any suggestions about LLLT would be helpful, too. Those devices are expensive, but if they actually work in regrowing some hair, then I think it's worth it.

    Dermmatch... By far the best product out there for. Been using it for years.

    • @DavidDiMuzio
      @DavidDiMuzio  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Alain Reyes Yeah, it's good stuff. I'm looking into a few other similar products though as I actually just don't like the people who work there. They were jerks to me the one time I called them. A few other companies seem to be coming out with similar products lately though. Thank goodness. I don't want to give them my money if I don't have to, haha.

      David DiMuzio I've tried them all. Dermmatch #1. Unless something new is out that I don't know about. And I'm same situation as you, had 3 HT, and it looks really good.. But a lil Dermmatch makes it look amazing.

      It's doable but for a variety of reasons (mainly scarring) it wouldn't be typically recommended.

      I was using Dermmatch in my hair in this video. I've been very full disclosure in all my videos as to when I was and wasn't using any concealer in my hair. I LOVE the way my hair looks while using Dermmatch (I don't endorse them ...or even like them as a company, but the product is the best I've found so far). Using the stuff is pretty addictive. It looks like I've never lost a hair in my life when I use it.

    Dave or your guys take. I lost some hair bc medication error. I would be a NW 2-2.5. It's been two years ago. My hair has not gotten worse or better. Seen an M.D dermatologist and the hair recession where there is recession the hair follicles are still alive because there is no scaring of tissue..so not balded scared over..but recessed. Another doc prescribed proscar. I have the bottle but nervous to take it. I was told to weight train again...and I use to be heavy into it and this can lead to an opportunity. I also...another doc was willing if I can give him data he would do a topical finasteride with possible latanoprost( latisse kind of ). However would need to find more. Aka he doesn't know what concentration but willing to work with compound pharmacies.
    I mean...thoughts?

    • @DavidDiMuzio
      @DavidDiMuzio  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Mystery Minis I just started a topical finasteride compound a few days ago. It's expensive, but I've heard it's much less prone to side effects.

      David DiMuzio Thanks bro...I will comment back in a few weeks. Let me know how it goes. Did you jump from finasteride oral to topical...or just dive in on the topical?
      Also do you shampoo the topical or leave it in for hours?

    A big thing to consider when answering this question is the integrity of the doctor. I have seen several cases where doctors have been too aggressive by taking the scars in fut surgery too far out of the safe zone. I believe your first doctor was too aggressive in one of your surgeries by taking the scar too low. I often wonder what Dr Mcgrath who seems to be a stand up guy had to say about that scar. Another thing to consider is in fue the donor area is expanded and hair may not be as safe. Also if a patient is found to have retro alopecia or dupa this makes them poor candidates as their donor hair is not safe as it is not dht resistant. There is also evidence in studies that those two conditions are not receptive to drugs like propecia. Anyone that has a chance of being a class 7 should never be considered for surgery and that's why it is so important to find an ethical surgeon.

    • @DavidDiMuzio
      @DavidDiMuzio  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +davh10 100% agree with all your points, and yes when I showed Dr. McGrath my scar from my first surgeon Dr. McGrath was a little disgusted that the other surgeon had been greedy with the tissue (as that's how he's paid per square cm.) and taken more than he safely should have. The integrity (firstly) and (secondly) skill of the surgeon is everything.

    yes, for sure without fina (no dht)!! but, you know, using fina is really really really dangerous, so this is the truth: in the coming 10-15 years you'll have an innatural hairline and scars... but now you're looking really good. It's a choice. I personally don't think you can do 3 or 4 ht in the future. but hey who knows?

    Ok wait a second. I think your going way overboard with this very common question that a lot of people have about hair transplants. The general answer to this question that will be associated with most, is "no, the transplanted hair wont fall out" . The majority of male humans do not ever lose actually all of their hair, especially in the donor areas. Your going into a lot of detail with this question. For example, yes "some" of the transplanted hairs may fall out if they are "predisposed to fall out eventually" through genetic transcriptions. From my research that simply does not apply to "most people". What the general question means for "most people" is. "Will my transplanted hair fall out within a somewhat short period of time after the surgery and will it fall out enough to be significantly noticable?" The answer to that. "Definitely no...of course not" . Transplanted hairs are immune or highly resistant to DHT. This is a fact and this is what you pay for when you move hair to a new area of the head for 8,000 dollars. Would it make sense to even have a transplant if "most people" lost a significant amount of transplanted hairs say....within 5 years of the procedure? Of course not. If this idea that you can lose say "a lot" or significant amounts of transplanted hairs within years after the procedure, i would be interested in seeing these cases. There would need to be a lot of cases to back up this idea that the transplanted hairs "for most" are not permanent. So far out of 8 months of research...yes actual "research" i have not found one case that backs up this idea. Could they fall out? "yes" but whats the percentage of the folks who will actually have some transplanted hairs that will fall out? like 5%? That doesnt count. No one cares about that. People want the general answer to that question. And that is a definite "no" and from what ive researched this seems to apply to most. Oh by the way your hair looks fucking amazing too! You should totally grow it out longer.

    • @DavidDiMuzio
      @DavidDiMuzio  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +David S Thank you. Regarding your thoughts I think it's important to understand "the details", and I felt like going a bit more in-depth as there are plenty of videos that just say "no they don't". I like to understand the idea around that a bit more. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and personal research with us though :) very best,

    • @realityfighting
      @realityfighting 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Excellent response sir, i can contend with that. Part of my research has been some of your videos though, most definitely. You are in many ways a poster boy for the hair transplant community, no doubt. Your results are very inspiring.

      I think it would be worth mentioning that with FUE transplants, the FUE surgeons SOMETIMES *do* harvest higher on the sides and back, in an area that possibly in the future *will fall out * because it's *outside* of the area that is the final norwood 7 stage. However, I do think it can be a good idea to harvest that area with fue if you run out of other donor area, just to thicken the area on top, but then these hairs would need to be devided all over your balding region, so if they ever do fall it and you reach the NW7 stage, it would basically mean your top hair will just be somewhat thinner on top (again), just as before you did that (additional) fue transplant. However, in the meantime you've got extra dense hair on the head. Usually it takes quite some time for the hair to reach the NW7 stage if your hairloss is not super agressive, so then it would mean you just have some extra benefit in that meantime you do have some exta thick hair on top. You should then alwasy keep in mind that these additional hairs might not be so 'final' as most of the other transplanted hair is going to be

    I can tell in this video because of the light, the thinning sides of your head show quite a bit. If a guys hair looks thicker on the top than the sides you know it's either concealer, transplant or wig. Justin Bieber is losing his hair pretty bad and you can tell he's been using a wig for a while because of how he always keeps the sides short. Some other celebs use them too. No girl will ever notice these things though. I didn't even notice Justin's wig till I noticed his hair was recieding when he ditched the piece for a bit.
    Lol though David your hair is thicker than Bieber's, there's something to be proud of

    the truth? no one asks questions on whether you had a transplant because they already see that you had, because you can see it. no one would ask for the obvious, especially on such a sensitive topic.
    you can see because the hairline is so straight and the hairs are evenly distributed and straight upwards, real hairline is not that precise. like a planted forest, you see because of the perfection.

    • @DavidDiMuzio
      @DavidDiMuzio  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've literally bet people I know money face to face to guess what kind of cosmetic surgery I've had and not had anyone able to guess. Will an expert guess, yes probably. But how many people are hair transplant experts, and do I care if the "know" ...obviously not if I'm putting this up on TH-cam, lol. ...I guess that's the point.

    • @TijmenJanssen
      @TijmenJanssen 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      David DiMuzio true. But in earlier videos you do notice it more than here. But of course, not everyone notices. But if you know where to look you do. I'm not judging though, I'd love to have that rather than what I have now. Unfortunately no money.
      How much did it cost you total? How many procedures?
      Have a nice day.

      and he admitting to using hair thickeners already which tells me he's truly not satisfied with HT. I hear so many regrets on having this work done. There is a reason why many celebs with loads of cash opt for a hair system or shaving over HT.
