Thanks for giving a good introduction to some of the numerous inputs. Most of the users just use the default and have little understanding how to edit the dtl, or how to open an available alternate dtl file, an that the dtl file setting is only affecting the single drawing. Config options affect the users' Creo Parametric environment; the dtl file affects many of the drawing's default (created/shown) dimensions, line font, text height, and view presentation.
When comprehensively creating optional dtl files for English/metric drawings (B-size with .09 text height, or D-size with .13 text height), there are many combinations of factors to consider. I find that in order to print a D-size drawing at half scale onto a B-size sheet of paper, that I should employ text thickness .012 (versus using the filled font option) so that the font is heavy enough that the font is still legible when printed at less than full size. I may appreciate a combination of arrow (open, closed, or filled) size (length and proportional width) for a specific drawing size, but when I create a new dtl file for an alternate use (maybe Metric versus English, or large drawing versus smaller format size), I have to repeatedly try tweaked sets of values to deliver an equally appealing drawing result. Sometimes the numbers entered as input for the dtl config setting are an exact number, but other times the number entered seems to be a percentage of a nominal value; it is not intuitive (i.e. text width of 0.8 is 80 % of the text height). The length of extension lines, and witness lines, and elbows for a dimension or note are often challenging to immediately discern. It would be nice to find a preview, or a cheat sheet (.pdf) to quantify the differences in types of dtl options (DIN, versus ISO, versus ANSI, etc). I also seem to recall (a decade or two ago) the menu_def.pro syntax that would allow the user to create a menu pull down that would offer the Pro/E user the option to select from a library of available dtl files (B-size, third angle projection, .09 text height, dual dimension (metric over English)) or other sized format(s) with nominal text height considerations. The naming convention for these available (pre-approved) dtl files has always been "tricky" to write so that the user reading the name understood what they would get and that it was what they needed to use for a company's drawing - employing parameter-driven interactive drawing formats. I am still looking for a PTC help/tutorial to assist my manager to review the growing list of dtl options that should be considered when we make alternate dtl files. We will soon have to decide how to best educate the team of company users when to not use the default dtl file "in" the drawing, and that the individuals should employ a pre-approved alternate dtl file versus attempting to tweak an existing dtl file. There are often settings that are forgotten about that need to be addressed as a set of edited values.

    Hello !
Do you know if it is possible to create multiple styles of dimensions and use according to the customer ?

Question, have you ever had to remove unused lines in a section view? I used Edge Display it worked for some line fine. Others? not so well. Thanks.
