Also, a suggestion If you REALLY as in TRULY DON'T WANT to have Diaochan screw you over on your kills, make sure she's the 2nd player (you can two this with one man-2-controllers as well). First off, keep the 2nd player at the starting point all the way at the gate. HOWEVER, by the time you clear most of the western/left-side rooms of the castle by SKIPPING HU ZHEN AND KILLING NIOU FU FIRST (so you can have access to the treasure room very early), move the Player 2 Diao Chan there (you can also do so as soon as before killing Niou Fu and thus before triggering the ambushes). This is mainly due to an ambush that will appear at the starting point of the stage (Zhao Cen's reinforcements), and once the treasure room is free, there will be no enemies there at all so it's the safest place possible along with most of the already-cleared out western area (the treasure room is the very bottom left/southwest side of the map, where the Musou Up is), that way, Player 2 won't have to fight their way out and take kills, or most likely die. And if you did kill Hu Zhen before Niou Fu, then chances are the gate to the treasure room or at least meeting room before it north will not open until you get Guo Si. Of course, who you kill in a certain order will only affect how the stage opens its routes in terms of the gates closing and opening until later, and it will not affect your progress for the weapon. Killing Niou Fu and also more so triggering the ambushes in the meeting room first (north room from the musou up treasure room) will also allow you, once you manage to deal with the first ambush there, to be able to trigger all ambushes on the west side of the castle just to save time. And again, to achieve this, kill Niou Fu by triggering his ambush first, THEN you can go after Hu Zhen for better progress.
I did that, but it still won't give it to me. I destroy every officer and sub-officer every time, as well as the ambush parties, and yet I still don't get the weapon.
The Asian name for this weapon is the Wushuang Fangtianji (Chinese) or Musou Houtengeki (on'yomi). Via title drop for the Asian name of the series, the Unmatched Directional Heaven Halberd. This weapon no doubt nods to how Lur Bu is the Chuck Norris of the series in a way, but of course, the name is the same as his 3rd/Lv. 7-to-9 via the Fangtianji/Houtengeki part, only it's called the Fangtianhuaji/Houtenkageki (Evened Heaven Stroking Halberd). The Fangtianji/Houtengeki is oddly the Asian name of his Lv. 4-to-6/2nd Weapon. The name indeed is the very same name of the weapon clearly described in the original novel and in Lur Bu's history (even though Lur Bu in history was a bit of an incompetent dick like Guan Yu). Funny enough, his 5th weapon in DW3: XL and his Lv. 11 in 4: XL are the same in terms of the theme they have in the Asian port: Demon God. Only the 5th is named the Guishen Fangtianji/Kishin Houtengeki (Demon God Evened Heaven Halberd) and the Lv. 11 is just named....Guishen/Kishin (Demon God). Apparently, Koei decided to radically change it up to Maelstrom in 4: XL localized, even though Demon Slayer in 3: XL was a bit close enough.
They choosed possibly the worst level to get Lu Bu’s weapon. It should’ve been Xiapi instead.
