I am a 2nd grade teacher and I LOVE THIS song. I have shown this song video to my kids every year for quite a few years...ever since I came across it. This year was pretty special, however. This year, on Nov. 10, I showed it to my class in tandem with a discussion on why we stand during the flag salute . My class requested to watch this again today on Veterans Day at the 11th hour, even though this is the beginning of our lunch time. I started it a few minutes early as we got in line for lunch. They chose to show respect in their own ways, some with heads bowed, either praying or singing, or just listening and watching the video. Thank you for a beautiful tribute to Veterans and thank you from our class to all who serve or have served our country. We discussed that FREEDOM IS NOT FREE...and my little 7 and 8 year-olds have hearts of gold because they realize this.
Performed at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 10, Portugal Cove, Newfoundland. I was the President that year. Terry Kelly is an awesome person . Its an honour to consider him a friend.
