Love your style!! I live in Florida and don't know anyone who loves to dress like us. I come on here to find someone to relate to who gets me. I wear vintage all the time and find coats like the Opera one for like $10.00. Few people ever want them here and they are usually donated because someone in the family passed away. Most of the younger generation isn't interested in Vintage Clothing, Antiques or such now. You would flip if you saw some of the Vintage Paris Coats and clothes, I get for such a small amount. Hats also. Wool, Mink, Rabbit, Fox :-) Glad I found your channel !!
I think the compact with the gap at the top would have held a lipstick that came with it.
Sorry, one more thought- lining is usually white silk charmouse(? Spelling?)😅 plus - you’d need a lot of silk velvet - that would be EXPENSIVE!!

Just fyi - in places, like special flea/antique markets 1930s opera coats are about $100. Sometimes cheaper. I am a shorty, they are almost always too long for me😊
I was in the Mississippi delta a couple years ago and found a late 30s coat in pretty decent condition- for $15! Definitely don't overpay for vintage if you don't have to, you'd be surprised what you could find in the wild.
