    Looks like it did an amazing job. I'm pretty sure the reason it doesn't remove your old tire shine is bc it's 100% ph balanced. So it cleans dust dirt and such but won't remove wax or polishes or anything like that. Such as thick coating of old tire shine. Great video I actually think it did great.

      TonyTheTechnician Yeah it did a good job on the wheels and that is probably why it didn’t clean the tires. Thanks

    I buy the concentrated version from Chemical Guys in a 16 oz bottle for about $12.00. The Walmart version is a diluted version that is grab and go. I get about a $1.50 per wash out of the concentrated bottle at a 4:1 ratio. Works just as well.

    This works well as a wheel cleaner but not for heavily soiled tires. They make a product called All Clean for when tires are brown and needing to strip off old dressing. I find that you have to use a combination of Chemical Guys products for best results. They don’t really have a 1 all. I’ve been using their products for about a year now and I just love them. It’s all about using their products in tandem with one another as each product has a very specific use. Use total interior and then come back and dress the interior with natural shine, or use Diablo wheel cleaner for the wheels and all clean for the tires. That’s generally how it goes, you have to combine them.

    This was one of the first wheel cleaners i used years ago, and as it seems to work okay, to me its really nothing more than a cheap car shampoo . It smells great but honestly dont think there is anything chemically in it to really break down dust or anything. I feel it just acts as a lubricant for your wheel brushes to be able to agitate the dust and crap away while the brushes are really doing all the work.

    • @FABAutomotiveDetailing

      Joe Rossi I agree! It does clean the wheels well but is crap on tires. They should just take that off the bottle.

    I too picked up some at WalMart about 2 months ago. Have tried it out on a couple of cars, one with disk breaks the other with drums.
    I found it works ok on a maintained car, but if you have some serious break dust your better off using a iron removing product. I try not to bash products while commenting, but this one is a good entry level product for someone that just learning as it's not caustic and can be used by anyone. So no need for gloves (eye protection is recommended, just because I am a safety guy)

For a detail shop bringing in biz from clientele that has neglected their vehicles... hit/miss. I’ve used their product(s) in the past and haven’t really had great results either. Gotta give em credit for their marketing abilities though! I agree with you that it works good on the wheels - but usually only on ones that have been maintained and don’t have a heavy build up. For the tires I keep experimenting to find an easy application product. I tend to still always fall back to my Meguiars Foam though. It’s never let me down - except when I over sprayed it and drove before it dried!! Keep up the great videos!

    @ryanbrown918 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I use Diablo on my huge 22"x12" Forged Fuels that are on my Super Duty. It works great as it's pH balanced, and extremely slick. This is a great feature for black painted wheels like mine, as it reduces the chances of scratching. Theyre also ceramic coated, so the fact it's pH balanced is the main reason I chose it over many others. I also dilute mine 3:1, as I believe it's instructed to do so.

    • @epap1375
      @epap1375 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed but just a note PH balanced also means it can not strip heavy brake dust or road grime. I would use a stronger cleaner every once in a while to just give it a deep clean and use diablo the other times. Just a suggestion have a great day

  • @Pix3l89
    @Pix3l89 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cleaner will not get the tote dressing off because it is a PH neutral spray. You will need an acidic cleaner to remove the dressing. But it does remove the grime of the tire.

I, however didn't buy one of the long brushes that you used to clean the wheels themselves, the long soft one. Plus, I didn't use soap on the tires and wheels. So I might have to do it again. They recommend cutting it 3 to 1. Some people go a lot more depending on the condition of their wheels. The biggest negative reviews comes from ppl complaining they can't get the sprayer off to dilute it. They started selling it without a sprayer. See how it foamed when you used a wet brush ;-) I use their signature wheel cleaner and Premium Blue wheel cleaner mostly for maintenance cut 4 to 1 and buy a whole gallon for $18 off Amazon. I use it for wheels, wheel wells, tires, chrome (bumper, running boards, grills, etc)and exterior plastics. A nice safe and effective exterior APC that is super cost effective. I put it in my automatic hacked pump sprayer and go to town. When I do the SIlverado I use about 45oz

      All the Eagle Ones I've tries work good but the sprayers are BRUTAL! The "foaming" one on the "All Wheel" is the worst. You need to be Arnold to pull the trigger a few times and then it breaks...brutal! The black and plasti dipped with the iron remover is only 5 bucks at Walmart! Good stuff. They should be fixing their bottle/sprayer issue here really soon and it should help with the confusion too.

    Great video.. but the chemical guys website does say to rinse the wheels first by the way. These are directly from the website. And the tires do look clean by the way? I believe the Signature product they make is a tad better. It's concentrated and you can get about 4 bottles out of it at 4:1 mixed with water.
    1. Rinse wheels with sharp stream of water to remove loose dirt and soften tough grime.
    2. Spray wheel cleaner on wheels, tires, brakes, and suspension components.
    3. Let sit to break down filth and grime for several minutes.
    4. Use brush to gently agitate dirt and grime.
    5. Rinse away filth, cleaner residue, and soap with sharp stream of water and dry with a clean microfiber towel.
    Please Note: Always try a test spot before use.

    • @FABAutomotiveDetailing
      @FABAutomotiveDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! If they would have been real dirty I would have rinsed first. The problem is when you rinse first you are diminishing the strength of the cleaner by diluting it in water. Either way it cleaned the wheels great but not the tires.

    I've tried this product before with good results although I emptied the contents into a used bottle with a foaming sprayer. That helped in terms of not having to use as much product to get the same results. I do like some of the CG products but have to admit, they're like the "Ben & Jerry's" of detailing products when it comes to their marketing...from the fancy labels, fruity to bubblegum scents, as well as having 2-3 different products for each use. The wheel/tire in this demonstration wasn't an ideal candidate to test this product for its effectiveness. However, I do appreciate Brians efforts and realize he's somewhat limited in terms of his test mules, I just think in this case, a mild detergent or APC would've netted the same if not similar results. That being said, I did the wheels/tires on my sister-in-laws Expedition that accumulated so much brake dust that the wheels were 80% brown/rust colored, but also "baked in" the alloy wheels. This product worked quite well in removing it with of course, plenty of agitation. Another great video though, from one of my favorite detailing channels. Thanks Brian....keep'em coming.
