When the location is first explored by the Waywatcher, she draws the Ritual Candles item which as the Treasure icon in the bottom left corner. I think she should have also received a Gear card.

6 years late to the game lol, but yeah same thing. Played through the woefully worded tutorial - tried to setup game 1 and got frustrated. Bouncing between "Learn to play" and "Rules reference" books is awful

Both items they got had a coin symbol in the bottom left corner. I think they should have also received a gear card.

Best video ever! I watched about 10 and all are worse, this one explains everything for mere mortals ;-)
Just got the game in my house, like it a lot. I do see why people are bashing the game for having just 6 quests (1 turbo + 1 5-step campaign). However I don't see how this would rise more than that, heroes just can only get advanced skills.
Six quests sounds pretty generous considering the Arkham Horror and LotR lcg core sets only have three (and 'require' the purchase of multiple core sets to feel competent). It would have been interesting to see this game develop had it not been cancelled so early. I quite like how simple (elegant?) the heroes are presented with just four skill cards, yet each turn can still be dynamic in how they play out.

You made a mistake with the way watcher the Dungeon card you picked allowed you to grab a gear card! It had the treasure icon on the bottom left of the card! Also the dwarves ale card also had that draw a gear card symbol on it! & you did not draw a gear card? For either hero!
question: In 2 player solo game...
There are 2 enemies facedown in the shadows and no enemies in the engagement zone.
In the ENEMY ACTIVATION PHASE - when i activate the two enemies in the shadow and carry out their effects on the cards...the 1st Hero takes one enemy... and then the 2nd Hero will get the other creatures attack correct? or do they both go after the first Hero?
The rules on page 8 read: "During the enemy phase, heroes take turns activating readied enemies. Starting with the party leader and proceeding in clockwise order, each hero activates one enemy per turn and the party continues activating enemies until every readied enemy in each zone has activated. [...] When choosing an enemy to active, the active hero must choose a readied enemy in his engagement zone. If there is not one, he chooses a readied enemy in the shadow zone, either face-up or face-down."
I believe your first interpretation is correct: "the 1st Hero takes one enemy... and then the 2nd Hero will get the other creatures attack"
The exception would be if a hero already has 3 enemies in their engagement zone; the rules for this exception are on page 15 of the Rules Reference.

Yeah. i had cleared all the engaged enemies... it was just the two in the shadows. i wasn't sure if they'd split the heroes or both go to the active hero. makes sense that they'd split one each so that's what i did.
so when u have 2 actions per turn (2 players) u need to switch between players? cant you do both actions/activations after each other, and then second player will have 2actions/activations
It has to be alternating turns
people are still anno april 2019 designing quests for this gem..
6:00 orc boy is not nemesis, so why cant you exhaust him?
8:30 it's not an X symbol, it's the titular warhammer.
orc boy ability text states he cant be exhausted, can be exhausted only by activating him
