iirc you forgot to use the Clue you gained before, for +2 to attack Dragons.

I saw this game last year and was on the fence about buying the pdf/digital version. I have limited experience with these types of pen/paper rpg's so I wasn't sure if it would be something which I would enjoy. But after watching your play through I can honestly say that this game looks like a lot of fun, and now I will definitely be buying a copy of the physical book version some time soon so I can play it for myself.

Thank you. It is nice to have games that require minimal setup/prep, and you can dive right in. Also, I love games that incorporate random elements for replayability, and there are a ton of affordable expansions.

Ohh man! I discovered this series a couple days ago, and have been watching with rapt attention. I'm so sad they didn't manage to kill the final boss. These vids sold me on the game though, so I picked up a digital pdf and have fallen in love with the system! Thanks for making this series

Thanks for this videos! I didn't know about this game and I bought it after seeing the entire serie (this first adventure. I will see the other one that you have) Greetings from Spain!
So, now you need to have a quest to rescue the stoned barbarian from the vengeful medusa; the dwarf then appears, clinging to life. You can still use this map or just the important rooms (medusa, white witch, dragons, etc). I like this game a lot really. But for a game with next to no tactical rules, it has too much combat. In DUNGEON! the combat is really simple and quick and better fit for a game like this (I expanded the rules for that game quite a bit and was thinking of adding a tactical combat system as well). But I do in fact like tactical, intricate, and long combats, but these rules are just hack and slash and die in combat. The dungeon building and exploration is pretty good but can be better. Cards for aesthetics, characters and monsters at least (ie DUNGEON! or Dungeon Quest). End rant. Save the dwarf!
I just picked this game up halfway through watching this series. I'll be taking my characters on that quest!
@@matthewpahnke2613 I will too. Just using the important rooms drawn in at the start--intell from a scout (or you can play a solo game as the scout) about the failed quest.
I will at least add a movement roll to make the grids worth something. Combine this roll with the wandering monster roll (when needed). Or you can roll a D6(3.5) for each (preferable two dice at the same time to save time).
Really I would roll D10(5.5, or 5 if 0=0) for movement. If you combine these dice, you can have wandering monster attacks on rolls of 1 and 0, or 9 and 0 (20%), cf to 1 on D6 (16.66%). Just 0 (10%) if you want less encounters and you can vary this each dungeon. Perhaps roll when you enter to see the rate: D4 1-4 (10-40%). I like this last idea that I just came up with typing--Geneous! Since 40% is very high, you can make this 0% and say the dungeon is somewhat barren. This is a good option for a new party.
Didn't your wizard learn a secret about dragons which should've helped the whole party with their rolls?
Yes! I completely forgot. I should have added +2 to attack rolls against the dragon. That's what I get for working full time, volunteering on the weekends, and running 3 different games at the same time; my brain is mush.

I think you should do a rematch on the dragon. I was really hoping to see your team emerge bloodied but victorious.
I plan on doing another playthrough series with better production and more focus :-)
Looking forward to the second playthrough. Had you remembered the plus two, and the below half strength you would have beaten the Dragon with the paladins last attack.

I think the rules would benefit from a little bit of reorganizing and an alphabetical index.

Thank you for this series! It prompted me to buy the game. I have just discovered my third room in my first adventure. I think I keep missing rules but that's okay - it's my first game of this kind. I'm really happy and very attached to my party of four. :) Seeing how your heroes ended I'm afraid to lose them...

Do you roll for lvl. up after 10 groups of minions or 10 minions? Rulebook is not clear about this and I've played it differently.
The rules state you can attempt to level up after "surviv[ing] 10 encounters with minions." This would be 10 "groups" of minions since it doesn't state surviving 10 minions, I feel adding the word "encounters" to the sentence means you survive 10 "groups" and not individuals, but I could be wrong.
Shouldn't another character pick the lantern that the rogue dropped when he died?

After defeating the final boss, you must backtrack to the entrance, rolling for Wandering Monsters in each room/corridor section.

Thanks. Really enjoyed the series and just got the book. Do you get a choice of what to do with wondering monsters? I thought they immediately attacked. Also, the wondering minions and vermin still carry their treasure, right? Just the bosses/weird ones that leave it under a pillow... For the next series, can you play with a ranged weapon? Still not 100% about their interactions.

Seeing his friends both hurt badly the rogue channels their stoned friend and goes Berserk! Kicking and punching his way toward the hobgoblins, but none of those blows land they never were meant to! hittting the hobgoblins The Rogue bites at ones neck ripping his throat out before turning and round house kicking the head of the other hobgoblin clean off...it sailed a hundred feet and went into a rat hole. (And so the game of golf was created)
Awesome narrative! When I do a future playthrough of FAD I should have you write the story of the adventure :-)
I think the final boss also rolls for morale and may flee when reduced to less than half also no?
The Final Boss always fights to the death and does not check morale.
