    The other advantage of 30 mm tubes is not only a larger objective, such as 50 mm bell, but the whole tube can handle more light. Now, with all that light, having parallax adjustment makes sense and is more possible. And of course, the really far ones with zero stop and 34 mm tube.
    What need is a friend like SR so we can hang out and try scopes.

    Yet another great video. This is something I’ve really wondered and suspected. Thanks for your explanations and making us all smarter every day. 😉

    Primary arms 4x14x44 is a nice 1 for wind, size, and distance great 1 for figuring out speed, for your hunt

    I wondering if you will be touching on Handgun Scopes? Seems to be a $50 or $350 world out there.

      I'll talk about handgun scopes in video #13, mostly how they can be used as alternatives on rifles for shooters with vision problems. I know what you mean, though. You have Simmons on the less expensive side, then the prices jump up quickly. Too bad Nikon got out of the rifle scope game. I like my Force XR.

      @@SocialRegressive One of the most annoying things is all the sites that keep discontinued products listed. I have a Swift and thought about getting another. All the major sites list it usually as back order of currently unavailable. Called Swift and they said they stopped making my model 7 years ago. Oddly even Swift lists it as back ordered.

      @@michaelring2028 I appreciate them keeping the listings up because then you can look up the specs when you find one used or often the manual and documentation. I have a discontinued sc ope and I just couldn't find anything about what some of the features in the reticle measured out to at x distance, etc. If the manufacturer had kept that scope with its manual on the website I could have just downloaded the PDF. I was eventually able to get a hold of a customer service rep and he emailed me the PDF but it would have been a lot handier just to have the scope listed as discontinued out of stock, but still on the website with all the details.

    Funny, I'm catching up on the Sniper movies. Earlier movies have sp scopes. Later movies are using ffp scopes. I've never notice that before.

    I've never seen a 34mm scope, although I do own the Falcon s30 Gen2 (5-30x56)with a 35mm tube and 56mm objective lens 28 mrad adjust value. Medium UTG rings. I could have probably bought the low rings to be honest, but the medium rings are fine. (the scope is a beast)

    • @SocialRegressive
      @SocialRegressive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've seen pics through the s30, and it looks even better than my m18s. Falcon is a hidden gem.

      @@SocialRegressive the lines and numbers on the scope are really fine, and the reticle is a horus type design, the only thing is it doesn't have illumination but some people like illumination some don't, personally it doesn't bother me.

  • @eddiejennejr4342
    @eddiejennejr4342 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    That explains a lot. But I never really liked the 1 inch tube. As I got older my eyes got older and I needed better scopes I guess that’s the price of getting old LOL

    • @SocialRegressive

      I've tested some 1" scopes that might shock you. The Prime series from Bushnell has a big ocular lens and a generous eye box. The Riton 3-9x40 is amazing, too, especially for the price tag. But yeah, I know what you mean. Some of these bigger models take the image to another level.

    Do not buy chiniesium. If you want a cheap scope stick to bushnell or simmons. They back up their warranty. I advocate at least bumping to leupold freedom.

    • @arminkowitz2726
      @arminkowitz2726 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you really think the bushnell or simmons is not made in China? 3/4 of the high dollar brand name scopes are made in China.
