2:36 Bird's pass is incredible! Perfectly led McHale from beyond the 3 point arc. Just like his full-court passes were very accurate.

One of those many subtle things that the Bird-lead Celtics did was the great entry passes that they made into the low post. It is not as easy as they made it look.
Notice the placement of the ball...the receiver only needs to have both arms extended with both hands held open like a wide receiver...the ball enters the post toward the shoulder side nearest the basket, and where the defender cannot reach. It is not a lob. It requires the right amount of pace. Too soft and you get a Johnny Most, “Bird steals the ball...gets it under to DJ...” Too hard and it cannot be grasped properly, or at all.
Bird would often times give hell to any teammate that made a lazy entry pass. He was the master at knowing precisely how McHale and Parish liked receiving the entry. And, they were both fabulous finishers.
What great teams. I think that the ‘86 Celtics were the greatest team of all time.

Whenever I watch vids of Parish schooling Hakeem, it reminds me just what a great center he was.

Yes, I agree. He is forgotten as an the all-time great, far too often. Parish, in his prime, is a Top 10 all-time Center.

I watched all the greatest from the 80s and Bird was the G.O.A.T not MJ and not LJ. Kareem is very close and could be the GOAT. himself.

I'll take the incredible passing and clutch shots over dunking any day of the week. Bird was the greatest all around player in history. Jordan was lucky to play in the 90's where the league was watered down with expansion and had no Larry, Magic or J. Or even Len Bias and Reggie Lewis, who would've vastly altered the course of history in the 90's, likely holding MJ to about 3-4 titles instead of 6. Having said that, I'd take Jordan over fucking Lefraud every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
