I just made this recipe, except I used gluten free flour and vegan butter. As I am allergic to gluten and dairy. We also aren't fans of raisins. So I used dates instead. And pecans. It is soooooo yummy. Thanks for the basic idea. Any gf/df peeps out there. Try it, it turned out so yummy! 😁🍞

Ty, I was just about to ask, I also don't like cooked raisins, so I will try with dates.

I used to make that when the children were little, but I saved my cans from store-bought vegetables and baked the bread in them. They loved it, and maybe the idea of the shape intreaged them as well. Thanks for sharing. Having one of them coming to visit this coming weekend, so its a good time to make it again! Bless you and your family!

Looks delicious- have a picky teenager - I think I'll use the dried cherries I have on hand instead of raisins- and drop dots of a mixture of brown sugar -butter -flour for cobbler or Amish friendship bread type topping - thanks for sharing! Perfect and have all the ingredients all the time :)

Hi Renea! Your recipe at the end says 1 cup of sugar and 3 tablespoons of sugar! Should that be 3 tablespoons of butter? Also, you would add 1/4 teaspoon salt to this? I would love to make this bread! Thanks!!

Do tomato plants grow well in those swimming pools? Your hobo bread looks delicious and easy. My 93 year old Dad would love that. Well done. Have a good one.

Yes they do. I had quite a few tomato plants in pools and they produced well.

I used coconut 🥥 sugar and a flax egg not real eggs as I’m Vegan 🌱 and non dairy butter, a lot healthier and was good👍🏼

@Margaret Bedwell I think she meant 3T. Butter and for her doubled used 1/2t. Salt so I'd guess 1/4 t. Salt for a single. She'll fix it when she has a minute. 😍

It is at the end of the video and instead of 3 tablespoon sugar it is butter and about an 1/8 th tsp salt is my guess is it is actually a fourth tsp. She said that in the video.
