I was in Awe by all your makes that time flew by - your vlog didn't seem long at all. Thank you for sharing all your summer makes! it was sooooo inspiring. Can't wait to see what your plans are for the Fall!
Ah thanks so much! Always conscious of keeping people too long with me nattering away!! I’m going film my plans really soon. I’ve got some exciting ones!
You have made some beautiful things Rachel, lots of lovely dresses and tops. I have made a note of my favourites as I am in the process of moving so my sewing room is packed up. !!
Not too long at all - it was fun seeing all the lovely things you've made! Love that Deer and Doe dress, but really, everything was wonderful. My husband and his brother were just in Ireland (Dublin, Kilkenny, Sligo, etc.) to play golf last week and got rained out twice - hope you get better weather for the autumn. They still had a great time, of course!
That was a lot of facings on the Jill dress! I remember looking at a bunch of facings once and simply cutting out another front piece and sewing that in to seal up all the raw edges.
The ice cream cone dress is so cute and I love the different colored buttons. Your magnolia is perfect for a wedding! The leaf print/facings dress is gorgeous, too. The flamingo giant tote is pretty and functional! And the birds on the Gilbert are so sweet. The peacock bag is amazing! Such great makes!
Such lovely makes Rachael! Really enjoyed hearing about them. The fabric you used for your La Brea top is so pretty and I love the Gilbert-Lotta hack, it looks very pretty and nice and easy to wear too. Also that's good to know about all the facings on the Jill dress! I'm not a fan of facings so will definitely avoid that one!
Thanks Cath!! Oh the facings!! It was not fun 😉 the finished result is lovely… but it’s a lot of work! Glad you liked the makes! I was so happy with thrm
OMG, what a success 🎉. The faustine blouse, the top you're wearing and your bags amazing!! Can I ask for the crossbody bag , how would you keep the water out on a damp day? How would you keep it clean? It's something I've wanted to tackle. Thanks again
Thanks so much Ann! I love the Faustine! That’s a very good question about the bag. What I’ve been doing is wearing it under my coat. It’s not too big so it still fits, and keeps dry!!! It’s an occupational hazard living in Ireland, isn’t it ☔️ If you wanted to tackle it, you could make it just a pouch without the straps! Thanks for watching!
I’m with you re the Jill dress. From the off I couldn’t stand the thought of all those facings flipping out, so I’ve worked out a way of lining the whole bodice. I cut out the same pieces as the outer and sew it together as normal but need to "burrito" the bottom triangle opening. I love this dress so much I’m just finishing my 4th one this summer and I’ve now worked out how to enclose ALL seams on the inside so it’s completely enclosed and near inside and out. This has become my most made item this year, it feels like secret pjs but looks so cute when worn….maybe worth a revisit? I’ve been eying the D&D Magnolia for a while - MUST make one soon! Some lovely makes, thank you for sharing
Wow! 4 Jill’s fully lined!!! That’s so cool! The lining must be so tricky with the two keyholes in the back. Respect!!! I would really recommend the magnolia .. no facings 😉 Thanks so much for watching!
I loved your round up of your Summer makes. Re the bow clutch bag, I just inserted cardboard into mine as I'm worried it's too floppy. Did you find that when you used it? I suppose if you had a big phone in there it would be more solid 😂. I love that little green top, what a beautiful set of colours. You certainly have cracked Adam's pouch pattern, your binding in perfect now ❤. Thanks for sharing x
Thanks Carole! I was so pleased with them. That’s interesting about your bag. I do have a big phone and I also lined it in quite thick cotton so I don’t notice it being too floppy? The cardboard is a good idea though 👍🏻👍🏻 I really have Adam to thank for my new skills!
Well done you have been so busy gorgeous makes xx
Amazing makes Rachel, really loved them all. Very well done.
Thanks so much Helen!
Wonderful summer makes
Thank you Kim!

Faustine blouse fabric is gorgeous ❤🎉
Thanks karol! I could not leave it behind 😉
Well done Rachel that was a very productive summer. My favourite is your magnolia dress and your bags lovely materials. 😊
So productive!! I love the magnolia too! It came out so nicely’ I’m really enjoying my bag making journey!
You have made some beautiful things Rachel, lots of lovely dresses and tops. I have made a note of my favourites as I am in the process of moving so my sewing room is packed up. !!
Thanks Janice. Best of luck with the move! That’s never easy! Nice you have a sewing list to start into as soon as you’re set up!!
Gorgeous makes. That Gilbert shirt dress would look fantastic with a wide belt.
Yes that would look great actually! Thanks for the tip!!
Love your makes. The make up bag is beautiful; such gorgeous fabric.
Thanks so much Sarah! Glad you liked them
Wow what a productive summer- well done 👏
Phew 😮💨 thanks Marian!!! It was fun!
Love the romper ❤❤❤
Thanks a mill! So glad I tried it out this summer!
Beautiful projects!

I like the deer and doe wedding dress
Thanks zelda! It’s such a gorgeous pattern and I just love the fabric!

Glad you liked the vlog. Thanks so much

It really was Marcia!! I didn’t realise until I started 😂😂 it worked out ok in the end… kinda 😉
The Jill dress facings are a nightmare but your version is beautiful! I really love all your makes for summer x
Thanks so much Becky! Watched your dressmakers ball vlog so heard about your Jill drama too 😉 it looked fab on you though. Amazing colour!
Great round up of your makes! The Jill dress would be so much easier if you did a full lining bodice, it would do away with all the little facings.
Hindsight is 20/20 isn’t it 😉 anything would be easier than those facings 😂😂😂
Thanks for watching!
Such a lovely array of makes! Your bags are gorgeous 😍. I love the Lotta mash up, that works really well xx
Thanks a mill karen!! It’s a fab hack! Love how well it worked out xx
Lovely, lovely makes Rachael. I must try the top and skirt mix, that such a good idea!
Thanks annette! I would really recommend it, it makes a great hack’
What a haul! Well done. Love your vlogs
Thanks so much Bernadette! Glad you enjoyed it!

I had a dress similar to the Magnolia dress years ago and now I want to make one! Thanks for the inspiration!
I would highly recommend it! It’s a gorgeous pattern! I hope you get on well! Thanks a mill!
Def stealing the Gilbert-skirt idea 😊 - love it 👏🏻👏🏻. The peacock fabric is stunning and all your makes are fabulous 👍🏻👍🏻
Oh please do! It works so well!!! Hope you love it too! Thanks so much Anne!
The Faustine blouse was my favorite! I love the fabric and the color! (I hate facings too!)
Thank you! I’m so pleased with how it came out! I think there is a lot in our club of people who dislike facings!
Such lovely makes! I also am not a fan of flappy facings. Binding is so much better! The top you’re wearing looks fabulous in that fabric!
Oh flappy facings!! The bane of my life 😂😂😂
I do love that stripy fabric! Thanks Maureen!
It would have been much easier to just line that Jill dress bodice. But it’s lovely. Love the dress you made for the wedding too.
Perhaps!! Hindsight is 20/20 ain’t it 😉
Thanks so much Barbara! The magnolia is such a great pattern
xXX👍👍👍
Thanks Victoria!
