I have a Super Redhawk in .454 Casull. I bought it on a whim a few years back. It is brutal to shoot with full bore .454 loads. I compromise by shooting hot 45 colt loads. @@bruceleroy8063 There are loads for revolvers and rifles that can take the additional pressure. Check out Buffalo Bore. Most of their 45 colt P+ loads are in the 1100 to 1350 fps of muzzle energy, so I think that gets you close to 44 mag territory.

". . .comes with a free target." I hadn't heard that one before. Very funny. And, as always, freedom IS the greater good. I heard you say that and I repeat it whenever I can. Thanks.
The standard plough handle of their standard model can be a bit of a palm ripper after several hundred rounds of medium 45 Colt. It's a tad shorter than it should be, in my opinion. Also if I was setting up a custom built with the excellent Blackhawk platform, I'd have a smith round/blend the butt somewhat for comfort, without going too far. Stuff like the Bisley gripped BFR, or the Freedom Arms 83 have longer handles with their own take on a slightly more vertical and curved grip. It's a good design to allow some rotation and slip to manage recoil. The gun should rise and ride up, and on the return from recoil you simply snap the hammer back with the supporting thumb while locking in the target for the next round.
The Bisley grip is cool looking and is far preferred for managing a heavy recoiling single action magnum revolver. The standard plow handle grip is faster into action and is fine for standard pressure cartridges. Only thing I dislike on the Bisley setup is the excessively curved front face of the trigger.
Great guns with a great company backing up the name. Before Ruger did these massive 5 shot single actions you had to pay 1.5 to 3 times the price for a Freedom Arms or others. When these Super Blackhawk Bisleys came out I ordered a 480 Ruger version so I could load 400gr SWC loads. It’s a fantastic piece for sure.

Thanks, Buffalo! I hunted with a guy for many years that used only a .454 Casull SA revolver for deer, elk, mule deer, black bear and hogs. I had always thought Ruger should include it in their line up. When they added it in the Super Blackhawk I thought they would have a winner for handgun hunters.
Ruger would never produce a SBH at the same build level as the FA83. And that's totally fine and to be expected. Something for everyone. But the FA is an amazing piece. Always great to hear Buffalo break into joyous laughter upon shooting this pistol. Obviously, this pistol broke this gentle, quiet man into a state of euphoria 😂
Great video Buffalo! That is one bad mammer jammer for sure!
I’ve been missing ur vids, but wow that cassul is something else
Another great video Buffalo. Excellent shooting. No way I could even come close although I wish I could.
I had a Ruger gp100 thirty years ago. Looked just like that. Threw a flame every time I shot it
Like a lock picking lawyer 😂😂
sheeshh
this is my second video i have seen of yours first one was the raging hunter 460 .
thank you .
Great video as always
Thank you!
Wow! I was flinching with some of those shots. Thought that thing was gonna hit me in the head!
Always fun watching your vlogs. Thanks Buff!
The sight pin on my Ruger 44 bisley hunter walks out as well. Not surprised it does on this gun. Thanks for the video I've had my eye on this one since it came out. Hope I come across one at the right time and I'll get one. Wish there were more videos on this gun. Nice shooting btw!
Unfortunately the 454 version of this gun goes for $1500 or more on gunbroker. Hope you can find one that’s reasonably priced.
The fun this guy is having is worth the expense for health Improvement
One hell of a peace maker, for sure!
Simply great shooting my friend. When you know your going to have to hang on tight it would be sooo easy to flinch. Great breath control too. It was cold enough you could see you exhale after each shot. Great video.
Super nice revolver Buffalo and as always some awesome shooting and hanging on with a tight grip! Thanks for the video, Slim.
Great shooting and That is a handfull of Ouch....Cheers
Had one in 4 5/8 inches in Canada. Fortunately, I bought one before they banned handguns there. Replaced sights with HI VIZ. Also complemented it with Sourdough Pancake holster from Simply Rugget holsters. Could not carry hsnguns there. But was still a great 'to have'. Great video!!! Regards
That’s a beautiful revolver
like this guy cacklin while he's shootin. havin a great time
Thanks. I truly enjoy it.
Now THAT's a hand gun!
You are a braver man than I!
EXCELLENT REVIEW.!!
GREAT VIDEO.!!
THANKS FOR THE DETAILED INFORMATION.
Great video and great gun! Thanks Buffalo, and thanks Gregg!
You have some BADASS friends buddy, love all your videos. Your an excellent marksman.
Fine revolver! Bisley style is helpful for the recoil it has with .454 loads !
If a person is going to hunt big game with a handgun that ctg will do the task at hand !
Great review done well !
Piece of that lock was found in Nevada 😂
Was looking at about 5 videos to watch and just felt like a little Buffalo to start the viewing time
You, sir, have my respect. You handle that recoil quite well.
Every time you pulled the trigger I flinched 😂. Great video and shooting! Pretty new to your channel but I’m a fixture now.
👍👍dang good shooting from 50 yards with that hand cannon.
