DCS or MSFS comparison was what I too came here for. Looks like I'll stick with G2 until a clearly better headset comes along (e.g. pancake lenses, 3-4K resolution per eye, DisplayPort support).
Just got my PICO 4 today and i can say it is better than the G2 because the G2 has a very very small sweet spot. I sold my G2 2 days after i got it couple of years back. G2 is clear in the center but the rest is a blurry mess. PICO is so clear from edge to egde and so so light on the head. Im sure pico will fix most of the Pc streaming issues in the next couple of months. Very happy with my purchase.
Being able to look around without having to move your head for focus is probably the greatest feature of pico 4s pancake lenses. Game changer in my opinion, always felt trapped in other head sets because of this.
also not having to find that tiny sweet spot. i tried getting my friends into VR but they're always thrown off by how "blurry" the image is, because it takes experience to know how to adjust the headset properly and to make it stay that way.
@@freemanol CV1/2 seem ok until Quest where it was more front heavy. The headset would move on people and that cause a lot IDP and people out of focus from the center problems. Hopefully with a better headstrap + less weight in the front it helps solves some of those problems going forward.
@@freemanol thankfully the upcoming psvr2 (for ps5) has eye tracking that will help people adjust the headset perfectly. I think it will be a game changer for vr
Would really appreciate the FPS counter or frametime graph in the video for each headset. It would be really interesting to see performance differences as I guess wireless vs dedicated DP input is much different performance wise, plus various resolutions of each headset. Is it possible to show that in next videos please? Thanks for the awesome content!
I was worried you might not cover all bases but you did a great job of weighing up the pros and cons of each headset. I'm still weeping that the Pico $ didn't come with DP, that was criminal.
To be fair, the fact that the Index could survive this long as display tech got better and better is a good testament to design, imo, even with it’s flaws.
I am doubting between the pico 4 and the valve index. What I understand now for me is that the pico 4 has a bit better quality but, the valve index 2 is coming so idk there is no release date yet and I really want to know when the new headset comes out. Cause I want a vr headset very soon. So it’s really hard to decide if I should wait or buy the pico 4 and save up for the index 2. 🧐
I only wish there was a PICO 4 with options to be stand-alone or thethered with either USB-C and/or DP connection for us PCVR flight simmers. That would be a winning combination. Perhaps that would feature in a PICO 4 PRO version.
The Pico 4 looks pretty good in comparison to the HP and Index. I do notice in the HP with Assetto Corsa screens, I can see the blurriness of the lenses away from the sweet spot. I dont see that in the Pico 4, entire screen shots in Pico 4 are clearer. Not worried about the Index comparison, because I don't have that headset and don't plan to. I do currently have the HP Reverb G2 V2 and do notice a narrow sweet spot in the lenses. It is great you are comparing it to the Pico 4. Thanks for the video.
Reverb G2 has a very tiny sweet spot. Pico is indeed much sharper overall, but for pcvr it's sub par for me. I returned it for a refund. I like these reviews but overall I think he's a glass half full guy. It's alway's on the positive note. Every time I fall for it, but never really had a wow moment when trying a new goggle. To bad, because I really would like to experience that.
@@Nick-tz1ju I know what you are saying Nick. We really don't know the full truth about newer VR headsets from reviewers until we try them for ourselves. I got fooled on the HP clarity and as you say has a tiny sweet spot. I then went back to my Rift S (which can't be bought anymore) and has a larger sweet spot on the lenses. So far the Rift S has been my go to VR headset. Though it does not have the resolutions the newer VR has. Take care.
@@dathyr1 Hello there, did you have the V2 model? If yes, how much did the adjustable gasket made a difference in edge to edge clarity and FOV? Thinking of upgrading my headset from rift s to Reverb G2 V2, really skeptical on how noticable the improvements will be! Would like to be informed by those who really used it properly and had long term experience with it.
Reverb G2 destroys everything as usual, and as expected. I say this as an owner of a Pico 4 which I got today and been playing all day, an ex-owner of a Reverb G2, and my friend owns an Index that I've played many many many times. The HP Reverb G2 is an unprecidented level of clarity and visuals, and it has to be experienced to be believed. It's simply mind blowing. Saying that, I returned my Reverb G2 within the first month because I bought it at release and it was full of bugs, which have been resolved now. If I just wanted a simracing or flying headset, that is without a doubt, THE HEADSET. Now that HP have apparently fixed the bugs with tracking, USB, power delivery, cable, its what I want. I genuinely miss the Reverb G2, for the month that I had it, it was simply out of this world. Right now I'm playing with my Pico 4, deciding if I want to keep it, playing with recording and different settings. Its an amazing headset and the pancake lenses are a major step up from the Quest 2, but still not there with the Reverb G2. Saying that, its wireless, which is a big deal for me. It's a long way there, and I can't wait for my Quest Pro to arrive next week to compare it to.
I bought the g2 on release they fixed bugs with tracking after 6 months and gave me a free extra/ better cable that fixed everything. I love the clarity and use foveated rendering mod on all my games so I don’t even notice the edge to edge clarity as I don’t use it and get great performance boost
I'm thinking of getting it, but I'm so worried they'll announce a Reverb G3 a couple of months from now and then I'll wish I just waited! I'll only buy the G2 if I can find a very good deal for it.
@@bobdole3251 Man I miss my Reverb G2, I always said I was going to rebuy one when they fixed the issues, and apparently they did as far as I read. Its a phenominal headset that blew my frickin mind when I used it. I would say from my short experience with the Pico 4, that its getting close to that clarity and contrast. But saying that, just like shown in the videos here the compression cannot be avoided and it doesn't get there, but its a BIG step up from the Quest 2. The Reverb G2 and its uncompressed 4K DisplayPort just blows everything else out of the water, without question. The DCS and ED tests in this video confirmed what I thought I'd see, but I was still glad to see the comparison, great video.
@@MVIVN Dude, its not worth worrying about. Whatever PC you have will be at its limits just trying to push enough pixels for the Reverb G2 at 90hz, TRUST ME. I ran mine with a 1080Ti and later upgraded my GPU to a RTX3090 and its still just about gets everything running smoothly. There is no need to worry about a Reverb G3, its not coming. If you want to be future-proofed, get the Reverb G2 OMNICEPT with Eye-Tracking that you can't use for anything yet, because there is nothing to use it. Then you'll be set until the RTX8090 comes out in a decade. Trust me, its hard enough just to push a Reverb G2, we're at the limit here.
@@KptnKMan360 Thank you for this, that's a very good point I hadn't considered -- my PC will always be the main bottleneck, so getting some crazy 5000 x 5000 resolution headset with OLED Dolby Vision HDR 144 Hz screens won't do me much good if I can't use it haha! Thanks for this perspective, I'll pick up a G2 soon!
Im getting Pico but the only concern i have The colors are washed up but you can clearly see more in the darker areas where with reverb its just pitch black. Not a big fun of the blue colour filter but i could get used to it. Theres also this visible pixels anomaly, dont know how it is when you actually wear the headset, but in this video its clearly visible. 3:02. You can see those lines of pixels around the formula Pros The text is definitely sharper and less blurry Gotta try with raytracing might be mints.
Looks a little bit like Pico 4 DCS Picture was not 100% Sharp taken. Compared to the other Pictures it should look Sharper there. But ye ive seen alot Reviews and many of them say the thing that the Pico 4 has much higher Edge to edge Clarity and it makes a lot difference because you dont have to move your head so much anymore to read something that is not in the middle of the Screen.
Little anecdotes like 13:18 are what stopped me from getting the Reverb G2 all this time, and you hear it constantly. Definitely looks great, but if it's got little bugs and tracking issues every other day then it's a no-go.
I have a G2 and it seems to have issues when you try to push the res of the headset in steam vr beyond 60% res. I have a RTX 3080 and 3900X so it's not a hardware problem. The wmr software is just riddled with instability. When I update the software, it will break at least one of my VR games. It made elite dangerous crash and caused serious hitching. Then there is the problem of trying to use knuckle controllers with the G2. The calibration software I use often gets out of wack if I forget to put the head set in the exact same spot when I start it up. Although the G2's picture quality is unmatched, the driver bugs and setup annoyances may drive one nuts. The easy of setup and use is to me more important than if the screen looks slightly better.
@@daru6366 WMR takes about a 12-15% performance hit. I ran tests between OpenXR and SteamVR at the same render resolutions and that was my measured performance hit. Personlly I've not had any major issues with tracking on mine, but the controllers are laughably bad.
The fact there is no more "sweet" spot with the Pico thanks to pancake lenses, makes it so much better than anything else imo. If only it was an oled screen... :(
For me, the pancake lenses AND wireless PCVR put it above other VR headsets. With regards to the screen, as I understand it, OLED doesn't play nice with pancake lenses because they're not bright enough.
Tyriel - if you are looking for an idea for a Through The Lenses - I would love to see a VR through the Years - Start with the Rift and Vive and have a comparison ranking all the headsets up to the current. Did you ever get a Varjo? I would assume that would be the top tier.
7:24 by the looks of it I am pretty sure something wasn't configured properly here on the DCS comparison. I mean on the other games Pico 4 looks in my opinion the best or the most balanced but here it's a totally different story. From my point of view it seems that there's a subsampling going on here (most possibly from SteamVR resolution). I am also mentioning this because I know for a fact that I have some subsampling problems on specific games when I launch them and I always have to reset manually the resolution from the steam vr settings. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong or please check this to make sure what the resolution is set to in the video options of SteamVR specifically when launching that game with the Pico. Thanks.
Things have improved after my Index but I am still gonna wait some generations more. I want both 120 Hz, much better clarity over the FOV and no cable to computer. Slimmer headset with battery pack attached to waist. Since I am also getting older I would like to see better options for individually adjustment of eyes and lenses.
I picked up a Pico4 while I was in japan (exchange rate made it a STEAL in price~) I got to demo it first, and I gotta say I fell in love with the clarity... after doing pancake lenses and high resolution it's really hard to go back...
This is by far the best test in the internet between Pico4 and G2. And for me, forget about having a great resolution but in a small center point like the G2. Pico4 wins for me. I play DCS with Quest2 and needed an upgrade, G2 was on my mind but a lighter and more all around quality image is way much better for me.
Thenaks for the comment, could you tell what GPU and CPU are you using, and how many fps are you getting? seriously considering moving into VR with DCS. thanks in advance
I have the reverb g2 in the tiny sweet spot it is super clear but anything outside that is blurry and smeared it ruins the headset. I use my quest 2 more for PCVR because the lens sweet spot is a lot better. I don't know how the G2 is touted for sim racing everytime I race and barely glance at my gauges it is blurry and annoying.
Amazing, thanks so much! I really appreciate the editing and emphasizing what we really want to see 😃. When I saw the Quest Pro and Pico 4 reviews, I got myself a G2 on sale - thanks to your great comments about it!
This is a great video. Thank you so much! You say you used 2160x2160 for G2 (this is 50% SteamVR SS), and 2160x2160 for Pico4 (this is 100% SteamVR SS) , and what did you used for the Index? (to be fair it should be 2160x2160, it is 106% SS in SteamVR)
I have a 4090 along with the PICO 4 and G2 (modded FOV Gasket). Running through an ASUS X1800 Wifi 6 Modem. Overall, I would take playing PICO 4 wireless over the G2. in terms of PCVR. The PICO 4's lenses are uniformaly sharp which provides much less eye strain in my case. I should note that you can actually lower the resolution relative to the G2 and have a much better time thanks to the sharpness. (with my set-up anyway) The only downside is compression, but it's only noticeable in certain scenes (very open pavlov maps, half life 2 vr mod). Games tried: Pavlov, Medal of Honor AAB, Red Matter 2, half-life 2 vr
I feel like people aren't aware how important an actual display connector is. Without it you will get lossy compression which looks absolutely terrible in natural environments. I habe upgraded from a quest to a reverb g2 and one of the biggest differences was the proper video connector. Things stopped looking like garbage and started to look great
i'm sold to pico 4, better image stablization, no lens fringe fest like reverb g2, better sharpness, better colors, better brightness, better crispy and sharp text display, zero screen door effect, also i'm not carying for dumb fugly smartphone games and since going to use as pcvr only, it's tempting to grab one... not excluding this one is way lightweight, more comfortable, no brainer.
i am curious about how it works to connect pico 4 to a pc. like does it work to connect the usb c cable to a usb 3 with a adaptor? or is it onl usb c all the way. how does the wii fii function work? which versions of wii fii is compatibel. i believe others also have such questions, i could be wrong. but would be interesting to see what works.
I feel like the only reason it looks sharper is because the contrast is dialed to 11 which washes out the darker colors, but if you look at the pictures the sharpness on the G2 is still king
I have the G2 and its sweetspot is so small that yes, it's super clear in the center, but the edges is very blurry and it's very noticeable. I think I prefer the wider clarity of the pancake lenses. I wish the G2 had better lenses and tracking, as that's also a bit lackluster imo on the Reverb. Been spoiled by Oculus prior to it and the quality in tracking is certainly noticeable.
The Pico 4 looks in everything better but the Reverb G2 looks so much better in DCS which is weird. Does anyone know if a sort of successor is coming out for the Reverb G2 with better lenses? Or something around that pricepoint in the near future that is better for DCS?
I love and hate the reverb g2. if only the sweetspot was a bit bigger. It's resolution is great but the sweetspot is sooo small. I wouldnt mind paying 200 euro for a couple of high quality glas lenses but there are also no aftermarket lenses available. Or are there? there are correction lenses (for people that wear glasses) available but not replacements for the original ones
The Pico is the best in most instances. The sweet spot is small on the g2 and it wins if it were only that small portion, but overall clarity is much much more important to me and the Pico wind hands down even with compression(which is an overblown concern). I game on my quest exclusively in pcvr at max resolution at it’s clear and sharp in the sweet spot. If I can get that in a Pico 4 but with the benefit of its much wider sweet spot why wouldn’t I take it.
Problem is the Pico 4 will rarely look like that in sim racing. As soon as you start driving the road turns to one shade of grey due to the compression of the image. Compressed images are just not there yet for sim racing.
@@pequeno77 Doubt it. I was getting the same when I ran my Quest Pro via USB cable. It's something that happens with all wireless headsets which use video compression. If you can't see artifacts have a game of skyrim and look at the grass textures as they blur out. Then again , if you don't see it be thankful and don't look for it. Once you see it you cannot unsee it and you notice it everywhere
Use pico connect wired, I run 1gbps bitrate h264 at utra hd. Road now looks like road. 1gbps is fine client side Pico decoder can take it. Keep an eye out for artificating, likely due to gpu encoder being too slow. If you get fucky image lower bitrate until about 800. 800 is my threshold for racing games. Lower than that road stops looking like road.
If you are doing your tests at the HMDs native resolution you have been doing your tests wrong all this time. You have to have some supersamplling to overcome lens distortion and reprojection cropping. If you do not do this then the distortion correction that is applied to counter the lens distortion will yield an image on the panel that has areas lower than the panels native resolution. Ths is why some heads like the G2 have such a high default SteamVR resolution. Panel resolution and render resolution is not a 1:1 pipeline.
Do you run them at 2160 x 2160 instead of 100% resolution? I found out a bit ago that while 100% resolution is higher than 2160 x 2160, it's that way because of the way the lenses distort the image displayed, thus having to super sample a bit to make up for that distortion. That is why when running my reverb g2 at 2160x2160, it says the resolution is set to 50%.
@@Jeny8ph a lot said they bump up their SS and they can't notice the difference in resolution. Resolution and lenses (even tho I don't have God ray issues) are the only thing better. Index fov is still a clear winner and its fov over resolution to many vr users including myself
Thank you for including DCS as example, it's just what i want to see in such comparations. I think, most of simmers want to see DCS in every review of VR systems.
I think if pico 4's colour saturation and contrast were turned down slightly it would WIN hands down , whilst its extremley clear in resolution etc the colours are off. The reverb g2's colours and contrast look spot on , combine the 2 and it would be an even better headset.
On other hand, the contrast on g2 hides all details in dark areas. plus the text is blurry. This trade off is okey in my opinion. But will definitely have to adjust the contrast on Pico. Especially for raytracing to not to burn your eyes
So happy I watched this comparison as every pico review I’ve seen is just same old tech specs and indecisive choice at the end. I wouldn’t buy an index and glad I didn’t go for a G2, pico for the price is hopefully going to be some amazing headset vs my old rift S
would be funny to compare all of this with a rift S. An enormous amount of people are still using it (including myself) while waiting for a real new alternative. Tho i don't remember the reverb being this good, it's making me consider buying a used one...
If you look for a Rift S replacement the Pico 4 is more than worth it. Owned a Rift S, owned a Index,, owns a Quest 2 and already tried the Pico 4. I get mine for purely PC VR in about two days.
@@CatNoirVR isn’t the Pico 4 / Quest 2 compressed if you try to run pcvr? I’m also still on a rift s, if I had to buy something now I’d get the index, but waiting for a good no compromises pcvr headset that’s at least as good as the index
@@SlunkyBoi You can barly notice it. The trade offs which are positive outweight the ocational compression artifacts. But you have to get Virtual Desktop because the Pico software for PC VR is still a mess and the worst one I tried so far.
@@jko28 If you can get a Reverb G2 go for it. I had one and sold it some time ago since I didn't like the controllers and the FOV felt small. It's still a great headset especially if you are into sim racing or flight sims. But I like the Pico 4 more for the overall features. Standalone, wireless PC VR and good controllers. And the comfort of the Pico 4 is quite good. The G2 has a little bit higher res, hdmi connection to the PC and better audio.
As I'm chosing headset right now for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, the sweetspot is kind of important. Should I go with the Pico 4 instead of G2 Pro Edition (Which my friend has)?
Nice, the hp headset looked alot better especially in the plane cockpit, but in all the other shots the pico is not that far behind, i ordered a pico it's coming this Sunday 🤓.
Wich pc hardware do you have? I can't see such detail on mine. I had G2 and I must say not sweet spot like Pico but more definition, even if I put my Pico 4 with usb c. On Pico the color is darker. I play Assetto Corsa too, on pico 4 fov is bigger, but not resolution against G2.
I play PCVR only, and had the luck to have both the Pico 4 and G2 with me the last couple of days. I really wanted to keep the Pico 4, tried absolutely everything, from modifying config files from the streaming assistant, to doing the thetering USB trick and use Virtual Desktop in God Mode, it just doesn't look right to me, I rather have the occasional hiccups with the G2's tracking and not being able to look around with my eyes too much inside the headset than the compressed image and miliseconds delay via streaming with the Pico 4 or similar headsets.
GREAT VIDEO!!! The Pico 4's sweet spot is amazing!!! To be able to see it through the camera lens show how large to is. Now if we could get PSVR 2 displays in the Pico 4 headset we would have something totally tremendous!!!
Great comparison and definitely shows how well the G2 performs still - even though there are compromises - if you grab a G2 in the sales the price for someone buying their first headset is an attractive one ... thanks for all the effort here 👌💯👀😎🌟
The Pico 4 colors seem over saturated a bit as compared to the other two HMDs, is it really like that while wearing it or is that just something that happens when doing the through the lens video? Just curious since I'm in Canada and the Pico can't be purchased here :(
I will have to say the Pico 4 looks very good and is the probably closer to the G2 than any other headset. The eye test still shows G2 as the winner in clarity though.
then you need glasses. as the Pico does seem quite a bit sharper.. G2 lives up to its number and being second and Index is OG. quite telling at 3:09.. sidebarrier and heckspoiler text. no context... cant you tell??
I am impressed by Pico 4 but I'd wait for next reiteration with similar edge-to-edge clarity pancake lenses coupled with screens that give true blacks (i want dark space to really look like endless empty space not a perceivable skybox)
The issue is you’ll find yourself constantly waiting for every new generation this way, better off buying the pico and selling before next gen and yeah you’ll loose €150 maybe but for a whole year of gaming for €150 is amazing 😊
I bought my Quest 2 two weeks before the Pico 4 was announced, and now that I'm looking at reviews of the new Pico, I'm feeling a bit of a loser because I've been trying for a month now to get a proper Q2 mount because I don't want to spend money and on elite and halo right away.. And also I have an IPD of 66, which makes it difficult for me to find a sweetspot.
micheal abrash said we are optics limited not resolutions limited, i see it now, despite reverb g2 being render at higher resolution due to displayport, the panckage lenses of pico 4 are very sharp.
Also i can not understand why the G2 in Elite dangerous menu has black selection over the text and all other headsets have red-ish/orange-ish with yellow text. Can someone explain this? Go to 5:57 if u dont klnow what im talking about
the obvious conclusion I can see is the Pico 4 has the better overall image especially with text. It is sharper and more defined. The G2, while very good and close in comparison, seems to have a softer overall image especially when reading text. The Index has clearly shown it's age at this point and one cannot unsee the screen door anymore. How can someone in the US purchase the Pico 4? Can you provide any links to retailers for the Pico 4 ?
In Elite Dangerous, it looks like the G2 has compression artefacts. Is that youtube, or from the source? The pico I would expect to see compression, not the G2.
That's not really a thing. All headsets should give 3d effect. It mostly depends on the software you are using. All of these are better than strapping a phone to your face.
I have just ordered Pico 4. Can't wait to try them out!. I bought it over quest 2 for upgraded hw specs. Want best experience as this is my first VR headset. I have 1660ti graphic card/Ryzen 5. I hope it could run some pcvr games at decent quality.
Getting my PICO 4 today replacing my rift S, only for PCVR use, but the pico is cheaper and I absolutely wanted the pancake lenses for foV and the 4k lenses
I don't know why people talk about the Index. I had one after saving up for a long time for one, and I was very disappointed with it. I sold it. The display was quite poor, and my Rift-S was far superior. The field of view was slightly larger in the index and I loved the "knuckles" but the rest was disappointing. I hate to say it because I love Valve. I'm hoping that Valve bring out a new headset quite soon.
Same, sold it after a while. A huge upgrade from the CV1, but still not quite there yet. VERY uncomfortable to wear in longer sessions, because I had to mod the headset to get max fov and clarity. Also the cable was super annoying!! Can't wait to try out a wireless option, even though the battery life is somewhat bad atm.
wireless, full res or high refresh rate? what's more important for you ?
Full res

G2 is clear in the center but the rest is a blurry mess. PICO is so clear from edge to egde and so so light on the head. What about it compared to the quest 2

Being able to look around without having to move your head for focus is probably the greatest feature of pico 4s pancake lenses. Game changer in my opinion, always felt trapped in other head sets because of this.

@@Nick-tz1ju so do you prefer the g2 over pico ?
@@Nick-tz1ju I know what you are saying Nick. We really don't know the full truth about newer VR headsets from reviewers until we try them for ourselves. I got fooled on the HP clarity and as you say has a tiny sweet spot. I then went back to my Rift S (which can't be bought anymore) and has a larger sweet spot on the lenses. So far the Rift S has been my go to VR headset. Though it does not have the resolutions the newer VR has. Take care.
Look at DCS, there he got the G2 on the sweet spot and it looks a lot better than the other 2.

Im getting Pico but the only concern i have
The colors are washed up but you can clearly see more in the darker areas where with reverb its just pitch black. Not a big fun of the blue colour filter but i could get used to it.
Theres also this visible pixels anomaly, dont know how it is when you actually wear the headset, but in this video its clearly visible. 3:02. You can see those lines of pixels around the formula
Pros
The text is definitely sharper and less blurry
Gotta try with raytracing might be mints.
Definitely looks great, but if it's got little bugs and tracking issues every other day then it's a no-go.
the lenses are also terrible in my personal experience. completely negates the resolution.
Man I hope a G3 comes out with pancake lenses and slightly better tracking. That would be amazing
Won't count on that. HP won't release another headset. But Valve could shake up the market somewhere in the future.
Rumors going around that HP will drop their VR business.

I think is more probable a Pico Neo Link 4 with display port and pancake lenses.
The fact there is no more "sweet" spot with the Pico thanks to pancake lenses, makes it so much better than anything else imo.
If only it was an oled screen... :(
For me, the pancake lenses AND wireless PCVR put it above other VR headsets. With regards to the screen, as I understand it, OLED doesn't play nice with pancake lenses because they're not bright enough.
and displayport...
remember you're comparing a 450$ headset to a much more expensive headset.
YES, the Colors and Black Levels are weak with Pico 4 sadly.

Thanks.
My thoughts as well, something wasn’t configured properly, it looks way too low res compared to all the other games he tested.
Index and Pico 4 seem to be switched there
@@darkcss1054 I don't think so tbh. The Index picture clearly looks more pixelated and that is exactly how it would look due to much lower resolution
I picked up a Pico4 while I was in japan (exchange rate made it a STEAL in price~) I got to demo it first, and I gotta say I fell in love with the clarity... after doing pancake lenses and high resolution it's really hard to go back...
ok seems to me too that G2 is crisper than Pico, but then is there a reason why in Assetto corsa the "beta" poster is much more readable with Pico?

You paid for that GFX card what I had to pay for my 3080 back during etherum mining days. Here's to hoping it's providing you with 90fps :)
I feel like people aren't aware how important an actual display connector is. Without it you will get lossy compression which looks absolutely terrible in natural environments. I habe upgraded from a quest to a reverb g2 and one of the biggest differences was the proper video connector. Things stopped looking like garbage and started to look great
Assuming you got the Reverb G2 V2 right? How is the tracking of the G2V2 compared to the Quest 2 if you dont mind me asking?
If Pico and Pico Pro manage to supply the world demand, it will crush the Quest Pro
i'm sold to pico 4, better image stablization, no lens fringe fest like reverb g2, better sharpness, better colors, better brightness, better crispy and sharp text display, zero screen door effect, also i'm not carying for dumb fugly smartphone games and since going to use as pcvr only, it's tempting to grab one... not excluding this one is way lightweight, more comfortable, no brainer.
Can’t wait for the Quest Pro comparison!
Sadly you can't make a comparison with the Pico Neo 3 Link over DP at the side of the Pico 4.
One thing that stands out with pico 4 it is nowhere near as blurry in the peripheral vision as the other headsets
i am curious about how it works to connect pico 4 to a pc. like does it work to connect the usb c cable to a usb 3 with a adaptor? or is it onl usb c all the way. how does the wii fii function work? which versions of wii fii is compatibel. i believe others also have such questions, i could be wrong. but would be interesting to see what works.
Wow impressed with Pico 4, although the colors are washed out and SDE is still visible, it looks sharper than G2. I`m getting one for sure!
Agreed. I like the index look the best, but the res is so-so.
look at elite game, now pico looks to have better colors, recording isnt accurate, only the res can be recorded
I got Quest 2 and sounds same there.
Besides games, I don't see much use of them
Index still does the job really well.
The Pico 4 looks in everything better but the Reverb G2 looks so much better in DCS which is weird. Does anyone know if a sort of successor is coming out for the Reverb G2 with better lenses? Or something around that pricepoint in the near future that is better for DCS?
So true, I can't believe that HP doesn't bring an upgrade-pack with new lenses or a successor with non-fresnel lenses.
rumours are that hp is giving up on vr ..
@@CaptainSpoonsAlot Seriously? After the success, they had with the Reverb G2.
@@CaptainSpoonsAlot Ok, that would be a bummer. Just because more competition stimulates business...
Compressed images are just not there yet for sim racing.
i do not experience this in simracing with Pico. Road is perfect ( using VD godlike or ultra )
@@pequeno77 I get it on my Pico4, using VD godlike with both a 3090 and 4090, which is why I don't rate it.
@@wickfut-racing same hw as me, 4090 i use VD not in wifi, but cabled. Can be this?

What do u use to link your pico 4 to pcvr?
Tyriel - any rumors about Pico 4 Pro with actual DP?
The Pico does seem quite a bit sharper.
judging by the text on the backspoiler and the barrier. at 3:09
I've already seen several reviews on the Pico and they said they'd still use index for pcvr over pico.
Really? Why?

I wouldn’t buy an index and glad I didn’t go for a G2, pico for the price is hopefully going to be some amazing headset vs my old rift S
was the dcs filmed/played with a data cable or wireless?
would be funny to compare all of this with a rift S. An enormous amount of people are still using it (including myself) while waiting for a real new alternative. Tho i don't remember the reverb being this good, it's making me consider buying a used one...

Can you sideload to the pico 4?
Edge to edge clearity > small crisp sweet spot.
everything else < index contrast decent clarity blacks screen door effect
the obvious conclusion I can see is the Pico 4 has the better overall image especially with text.
Tyriel, Index and Pico 4 seem to be switched at 07:56
Which of these three headsets gives you more 3d effect? Thanks a lot!!!
That's not really a thing. All headsets should give 3d effect. It mostly depends on the software you are using. All of these are better than strapping a phone to your face.
Is it just me or does the G2 have a much better contrast ration than the other 2?
I have just ordered Pico 4. Can't wait to try them out!. I bought it over quest 2 for upgraded hw specs. Want best experience as this is my first VR headset. I have 1660ti graphic card/Ryzen 5. I hope it could run some pcvr games at decent quality.
Getting my PICO 4 today replacing my rift S, only for PCVR use, but the pico is cheaper and I absolutely wanted the pancake lenses for foV and the 4k lenses
Still thrilled with my G2 all this time 😎
I don't know why people talk about the Index.
Really hope the psvr2 works some magic with fresnel, because it keeps looking like pancake is a huge difference maker.
