Thats a union job and there's a process. I doubt she is fired for this. Maybe something else is going on. Like those cops who get rehired or resign to get hired someplace else.

Same problem in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Local tv station did a piece about wandering the neighborhood looking for your mail. They were also under investigation for theft. Those thefts were deemed "ADMINSTRATIVE."

The post office in the town next to us is plagued by terrible mail handling. They've been complaining for years and nothing happens. We heard that the people who work at that post office are all the rejects in our county and are sent to this location because it's up in the mountains and 45 minutes from any significant sized city.

It happens in every city. The problem is, yes, that the carriers are overworked to the extreme. In my city, they took away all our holidays and nearly all of our Sundays, while working 10-16 hour days. We could not keep our hours under control. The entire city went 8-hour medical at one point in protest! We have five zip codes. Anyway, many of us, including me, fell apart under these conditions. I quit in 2020. It was really disappointing, because I loved the work, but there was so much of it, it literally ruins people. And management is straight-up abusive (like, screaming and swearing at the carriers when they can't make their estimated times). Parcel loads were going up 200+% every year since I joined in 2015. I was very straight; never resorted to hiding or trashing mail. But we did have a few who couldn't handle the pressure and couldn't face these abusive managers when they had to tell them their delivery estimates were off, and they needed help.

When I got to the testing area in the morning, the person that I was assigned to had a stink attitude, the minute I got in the car. I'm guessing he felt that I would feel a way about him not treating me well. I ended up ignoring that fool and focused on what I was there for. He felt so dumb, he ended up giving me pertinent information about the job that I could use .....being that he knew that folk that worked there wasn't worth a nickel! Just weirdos of all kinds! There was an episode of King of the Hill that is surprisingly accurate. Bill was sad that he wasn't receiving mail and Hank tried to suggest that maybe he was supposed to get mail but it got lost. This immediately got Bill into the mindset that the post office is 100% responsible for losing his mail. So Bill and Hank went down to the post office and Bill angrily said "You lost my mail!" So the employee goes into the back. Hank walks back and says "So about my friend, you aren't going to find any mail for him. He just doesn't have any." And the employee says "I know that. Whenever we come into the back, we're just drinking coffee to make it look like we're searching". Then Bill approached and helped himself to a bunch of letters addressed to Santa.

Was it intentional abuse, who knows? Bullying? IDK. Will we ever know what ignorance made this USPS worker to do this, who knows? You can't always categorize everything and say that PTSD is ONLY for people who've seen death in front of them or have been raped or whatever the case might be. So they wanted him to be on-call 7 days per week, but could only offer him 25-30 hours per week most weeks. He went to work for his other job on a Sunday, they tried to call him into work so someone with seniority could have the day off, and when the told them he was working on an ambulance that day they said they’d have to write him up for being unavailable. @@tarabooartarmy3654 Yup. I was an RCA for a few weeks and that's how it was. I would only work every other Saturday, unless the carrier called out or went on vacation. It was also mandatory to work every other Sunday at another office delivering Amazon packages. One carrier was retiring in a couple of years, but there were two RCAs ahead of me and the next carrier to retires was in 5 years, the next almost 10 years. When I was in training, the instructor told us that she had been with the USPS for 25 years. You'd think she was up for retirement in the next 5. Nope. She was an RCA for 12 years. She would have to work another 13 years to be eligible for retirement benefits. She was in her 50's. The USPS is a game you get into when you're in your early 20's and if you hit it lucky, you'll get to retire before you're 50. RCA/Rural Carrier is the only job in the USPS that doesn't accrue time for your pension when you start. It happens when you go full time and someone has to leave and you are first in line. According to people I've talked to, Clerk is second best and Janitor is the best. All of the janitors I talked to loved their jobs. A lot of them transferred from carrier or clerk jobs.

We don't know how many things went wrong for any of the people this happened to, along with her and possibly others residing in her home, and to go through that for so long could be traumatic. I had a package delivered into the "big box" about 6 years ago, and the mail carrier either put the key for the box in the wrong mailbox, or didn't leave it at all. It took them 3 months to get me the key to get my package, because apparently they thought I just took the key and threw it away or something. I would go down to the post office now and then to inquire about it, and I couldn't believe the number of people in there complaining about not getting their mail.
I think most people that work for the post office take advantage of their positions and just like to play power trip games with the public. I've also had about a dozen different mail carriers in the last 6 years and almost all of them dress like bums.

Really? Think about the issues of late payments on your bills, and it affects your credit score, and you don’t get your tax notices, your insurance cards, and you’re on the phone dealing with people who don’t believe you aren’t getting their mail, month after month…
Then start worrying over who has your bank statements and credit card statements, and Social Security letters, etc.
      it is huge.
And then add in three years of dealing with a person who doesn’t listen, doesn’t care, and doesn’t do their job to fix the very real problem they are pretending doesn’t exist.
And under that DAILY worry and aggravation, you wonder: is it the mail delivery system, or is it a stalker stealing your mail? Maybe a nasty neighbor with a grudge? So another level of stress.
Yes…this woman absolutely could have Post Traumatic STRESS Disorder.
Her life was being affected for three years in a very negative way, for reasons she didn’t understand and couldn’t control nor alleviate. It was targeted, so not the same kind of micro stressors we all deal with, but a great deal more stress piled on top of them.
Do you have a degree in Psychology? I’m guessing you don’t. You may want to not comment about things you aren’t fully educated about, especially when you are not willing to give the benefit of the doubt to a victim.
And, yes…before you ask, I do have a degree, as well as personal experience with PTSD.
And notice I’m not saying she does…I’m saying it is possible. I am not her therapist, so I can’t diagnose her.
