Yay for light reads! So nice to have cozy things to pick up when life is busy. That's so interesting that there's a dog writing award! I hope Dusty finds a great new home, but it's sad that he's leaving too - he seems like such a sweet cat. Also, super cute top combo you're wearing today! All the spring/summer vibes.

      I think I am digging into a light & re-read phase for a bit. much needed. 😉
Absolutely, I am surprised I haven't seen anyone on booktube talking about the dog writing award!
Fingers crossed, if all goes well Dusty is going to be out the door tonight to his new home! And I will probably be coming back with someone else... we will see what' they've got.
Thank you about the top! I've been feeling the seasonal vibe, and just very belatedly rotated the winter stuff out of my closet so I can actually see everything. Though the heat is kind of beating me about the season too, it hasn't been letting up at all and only keeps getting worse. 101 feels like 107 right now here 😓

How exciting that Dusty is so close to having a forever home, but I know it will be bittersweet.
I'm still getting used to Juneteenth--it's a great holiday, I just am not used to it. I had all these plans for Wednesday, and then everything was closed! Not a huge deal, just sort of face palm moment!

Dusty has gone and his adopter seemed perfect! Even took the day she would've been in office for the week off to be home with him 😄 just the constant attention he is looking for.
Completely agree on the adjustment to Juneteenth, they also took our easter holiday when they gave it to us at work, though we get a floating personal day in return instead... but that has just made things all more convoluted! I will take any days off I can get tho.

I feel I am always finding new book awards, you would think being on booktube we would have heard of them all, but no.
I'm definitely not big on sports, but Welcome to Wrexham is just such wonderfully positive show about human connection more than sport, I am always anticipating when a new season comes out.
Mom P.I. Was definitely very of the time early 90s, perfectly cheesy, I've been really feeling those vibes lately.

Cards on the Table by Christie is a good bridge related crime, the rules sound like a foreign language to me. It's cool that there is a dog award.

I am terribly under read in Christie - I think just Mousetrap & And Then There Were None, I haven't even heard of Cards on the Table! I think one must no longer have a full time job to keep straight in their mind in order to free up space for learning bridge...

I'm also sensitive to under-reactions to religious trauma so I don't think the dog book would be for me. What are you thinking about Wicked so far? I hope Dusty has a great family to join.

It has another strong triggering element for people that doesn't bother me too tied to that, and I felt that was handled a bit better.... but having the two things very intertwined just soured it for me a bit, but a still had a good time.
Wicked has been GREAT! It is so different from the play, but I am enjoying it a ton. However, I totally see why it is divisive and many people bounce hard off of both the writing and the satire/messaging being soooo heavy handed.
Dusty will hopefully be off to a new fam tonight, we will see!

Absolutely, it was a perfect mix of fluff and drama, with some big surprises in the mix of the investigation. Exactly what one wants on a good day off!
