I found your channel looking for a review of some headlights and realised I've ended up at your channel a couple times before so I went ahead and subscribed. I bought the headlights BTW...Immediately did the carwash test and couldn't be happier with them.
This video started it all. Thanks so much for making this! I installed the rock lights, the trunk lights, I bought extra lights and put one pointing forward and one pointing backward from the sound bar. much better lighting than the dome lights! Afterward i went on to install light bars and switch panels all around my jeep. but this video was my first inspiration and I wanted to come back and say thanks! Great videos, ive watched many of yours now, keep them coming :D
That awesome, and exactly what I was hoping for with this video! I'm sure your jeep is looking awesome by now, and I'm sure you have become a wiring expert!
nice idea with the aluminum DIY Mounts! I've been holding off on rock lights b/c i did not want to mess with drilling into those fender plastic covers. Harbor Freight here i come!
Great video! I have a 2022 Wrangler 4Xe and it appears that the footwell lights stay on at night while driving. So, I am assuming that there is a different circuit that you are tapping into for the puddle lights in order for them not to stay on while driving at night? Would appreciate the clarification. Thank you.
Hey, yeah the lights on this jeep stay on "dim mode" at night as well, but there is a separate wire that I tapped into that turns them on full brightness when you open the doors. Not sure if the setup is the same on the JLs! Just don;t wire anything up to the big battery on your 4xe lol!
Hey can you please help me can you tell me how to do this in jeep jl 2019 unlimited sahara i mean which wire i have to tap in to get the lights turn on by pressing lock or unlock button ?
Hi Jon and thanks for this LED-lights extravaganza. I have just bought the Nilight set and I'm about to do just the puddle lights install for the time being. As I'm planning to use the footwell light as the only power source, I wonder if running four sets of three LEDs from it may overload the factory dimmer circuit. Have you had any problems since you did the install? Thanks again and keep the good stuff coming!
I was worried about the same thing and studied on it for a while. I don’t think its an issue at all. I haven’t had any issues after my about 6 months having them on the jeep. I also hooked up the rock lights to the puddle light circuit to see how it would look, and it handed the load of all 12 lights with no issues ( looked super cool as they all dimmed away.) Each light strip is only 1.5 w, so they draw very, very little power. Good luck on your project!
Awesome video! I'm probably going to do the puddle lights first... I have the factory running boards though. Do you think they will interfere with the light output? I was thinking they would just hide the Hotspot, but its hard to tell.
Hey! I don’t thing they will interfere too bad, and they may actually allow you more mounting locations on the bottom of the factory steps/ there mounts. Wire routing might have to be a little different tho.If you plan on mounting to the bottom of the side steps and the jeep is not lifted much, I would recommend planning for three or even four lights on each side for an even spread (since the lights will be lower). Best of luck!
Good Video, great ideas , much information, but for us the nubbies lol, I would love to see, step by step, maybe a little more details , on connection, wire , just a little more info on what u do , and step by step,.. otherwise great video
I really liked the magnet trick. I've been a mechanic for 27 years and I've never seen that. Awesome video.
Thanks! It worked ok, but I really could have used a bigger magnet!
watched this 2yrs later and still relevant, thanks man
This was a great video. Thanks buddy. 😊. I definitely need to get the proper tools.
The brackets came in clutch and the project turned out to be worth the work.

Ayyy thanks!!! And yeah the headlights are sweet, and Im sure they look great on your rig!
I did the same thing... this is the third video of his that has helped me make mod decisions. Definitely earned a follow!
Love the way you used the magnet to pull wires.
Great Vid👍… love the practical addition of light

I like the idea hooking the lights up to the footwell light. I did it this weekend and it worked well 👍🏻
Awesome!!
Welcome back!
Thank you!!! I have been busy with school and haven’t had any time to make videos these past few months😔!

Where did you get the 'switch power' for the rock lights? Did it come straight from the battery? I tapped the yellow wire for the puddle lights.
Awesome! I was looking for lights for my 4xe. I really like the trunk lights!
Thanks! I have definitely gotten the most use out of the trunk lights👍🏼

@@TacticalJK Thanks Jon, you da man.
Where in Arkansas are you at?

@@TacticalJK Thanks! Yeah, my jeep will only get a leveling kit...no more, so I guess I'll add the extra lights.
What tires / suspension setup are you running? I hope to keep my stock sahara rims and the setup you've got going is pretty much what im going for lol
Hey! I'm running 35in Cooper Tire STT pros (LT305/70/R18 I think) with a 2.5in teraflex lift and 1.75in wheel spacers. I'm happy with it!
@@TacticalJK ok, nice! Pretty much the setup ive been looking into, thanks for the info!
What a great instructional video! Thank you!!
Does the output wire from the diode go to ground? I saw that it was a black wire but I am not sure. Thank you!
The output would go the the lights! I was running out of wire so had to use whatever color was available!
Hi! Great video. I love the stance on your JKU and wanted to know what kind of lift and tires you have on it.
Thanks!! Its a 2.5 in teraflex lift, 35in Cooper Tire STT pros on stock wheels with 1.75 in wheel spacers
Can you help me.. Can't fint this yellow wire in 2012 jk..!!
Does the lights change colors?
No, these are white only. They have amber and red ones if your looking for a different color!
What part of Arkansas are you in?
Hey! Im in the Texarkana area

Thanks for the feedback! I tried something different with this video by not explaining everything, just to test a different style of video👍🏼
Hi,there. I can't open your email, can it be convenient to send your email to me?
