Woah, did not know Lionel Hampton recorded Giant Steps! Great solo! This reminds me of a tape recording I stumbled across of Edmond Hall practicing Giant Steps with a band, which was something I never expected given his typical repertoire and age (he was born the same year as Louis Armstrong). Always a fan of musicians who always try to stay contemporary.
