Interesting assessment. I’ve never had any issues with my iridium. I enjoy carrying/using it. Have the heist as well for a beater. Try that one instead of that flipper
That knife with the big brass lanyard hole on the end ruins that one ! I wish they would quit putting those holes on these knives !! Thanks for sharing
I actually forgot to mention it but do understand how you feel. I'm about 20/80 on lanyards in general, which is to say on about 20% of knives I think they can (possibly but not nessicarily) be useful but on most knives I'm not a fan. On this knife I'd say no so I just considered it to be an aesthetic choice. It integrates well into the feel and if anything it fills out the grip a bit for more confort but someone would have to come up with a cleaver tie off if they actually wanted to add a lanyard withou having it sliding all over the place 😕.
This video seems to be more of a list of _you_ problems than any real issues with the knives. Either way, I'm amused. Subbed. What you did to that Spyderco ensures this channel is gonna be a hell of a ride.
Hey thanks man! You know it's not my favorite vid. I feel like I'm still pecking away in a very beginner stage of these videos, there's a distinct disconect between my thoughts and what I'm saying and right now I’m just trying to knock out vids as practice...
I wish everyone would just call it the crossbar lock🙏🤞. Thank God right now we don't have hundreds of different names for a liner-lock. Imagine if hundreds of different knife manufacturers all named the liner lock by their own coined buzzword terminology 😱.
In what world are you using a pocket knife "all day long" like you describe??? Kershaw needs to bring back the Knockout with an Omega-spring/Cross-bar lock like this, a minimalist flipper and no assist. That'd be a winner. Classic never goes out of style and their current line-up looks cheap, like they're trying to hard to be artistic.
That's a very poignant... point 😅 For the average knife user there will be little to no issues as the average person is not using their knife all day long and it is comfortable enough for the one or two times a day it might get used. I made a second video concentrating more on specifically more on the Iridium where I'm a bit kinder to it. If I where camping and using this knife for a good deal of food prep or unpacking after a move and was breaking down a bunch of cardboard boxes I think I'd prefer something mildly more comfortable like a Spyderco Endura or an Ontario Rat.

Yuppers. If I were Benchmade I'd just say anyone could call it an Axis lock.
