That gear to gear timing is really not worth the hassle. Yes you might run On the weekends but is it really worth it. Great sounding car glad to see your daughter is having a great time watching daddy drives her run. Great video thanks
It uses a gear drive instead of a timing chain, the dual idler versions are junk and cause damage but the fixed single idler gear drives are the best most accurate timing setup you can use.
@@preston3698 especially if its louder than the exhaust, just think the whole time its trying to shove a small gear in between the crank and cam, its hell on the front main and cam bearing, but people still love them, regardless its a beautiful car
If you gave me that car, the Pete Jackson gear drive would come out so fast, you would get pneumonia from the wind. I hate that racket and it's not necessary. A regular double row chain is good enough, beyond that, get a belt drive.

Although it does have two advantages, one is they don't wear out and two they'll get your timing dead on, there isn't any slack in these at all. Even with a brand new timing chain there is a tiny bit of slack, not with a gear drive.
i had a 71 camaro yellow black with a 396 ....that is a very nice camaro love that gear drive timing set. a 383 in the works for my tahoe...... eagle kit waiting for response for comp cam on my custom application
thanks man.. i actually called a machinst today that builds racing motors and he told me 500 to do all the block work and he could sell me a nice kit for 1300 that would withstand up to 500 horsepower so i think thats a pretty good deal
