Been looking forward to watching this Rutus video Gaz. There is so much I like about this machine, most of which has been covered here, so I won't repeat, suffice to say as a 30 plus year detectorists and having swung most machines and still use XP of course Minelabs and Nokta, the Versa will be added to my arsenal shortly. I like the way this particular video has been edited with your usual quality filming. 👌
I've been running one stateside here in Kentucky at Civil War sites along with the Deus 2 and Manticore and it's really a nice machine. All three detectors will find the goods but you move through heavy iron quicker and smoother with the Versa and Deus 2. The Versa has sweeter tones like the Manticore and the unmasking of the Deus 2. It's a great machine and its nice to see another dependable tester like yourself, in addition to Michael "Iffy Signals", extolling it's virtues. Thanks for another quality video as usual!
Glad to see you showing more top tier machines. The Versa is excellent in any scenario due to it's adjustability & refined high performance. I have been successfully using mine since March 2024 in the mineralized red soils of East Texas.
Nice overview of the Versa Gary, very underated brand are Rutus, I had a Alter 71 for a while which was a brilliant machine with an interesting Hodograph display. Out of interest where does the Versa sit weight wise compared to say a D2 or Equinox?
That is a sweet spot. Rutus looks like it is loaded with options. Looks like good separation. The Romain coins, are they small or did over time they fall apart on the edges? Thanks for sharing.
Hey, DDS. They are small, low denominations Romans. Obviously, with ploughing over the years, some are reduced in size due to damage through farm machinery as well. 👍
Since remedying some initial "teething issues", Versa has received very decent reviews. Fair play, Rutus listened to logical critique and have turned out a very competant, very competitvely priced machine: so 'good on them'. I've never seen you trial a duffer; not in all the years I've followed your testing and reviews. That said. Gary, I wish that you would write a book. Praps your metal detecting biography, with up-to date advice / tutorial info, et cetera. I firmly believe that "we" need a "New Testament", to accompany John's "Old Testament". You are absolutely the most qualified to write a "Bible". Such a book would literally, "Go Global". Food for thought, I pray. Cheers now Gary. Take care 👍.
I've had 2 Rutus machines,Gary mentioned the tones and the vdi readingsBUT he didn't mention the vertical holographic tool which is the 3rd dimension .Straight vertical line is a winner😊😊😊😊
Hey Gary, thanks for another cracking video. I loved all the XP vids but really enjoying the variety on this channel. I've always had a distant admiration for Rutus, they always look like solid detectors. Hope your keeping well mate. Regards MMMD aka Keith 67 from the old forum days 🙂
Nice concise introduction to the Versa Gary. I've been using mine for a little over a year now, the last two updates have really brought the machine along, I love it. Interestingly enough I detect with my brother who uses a Equinox and I certainly get a good amount of EMI from his machine too including audio interference.
This was my big takeaway from this video, As somebody who will be looking to purchase a higher end machine at some point in the near future and will most probably be going on group events with plenty of Equinox amongst others... would this be a huge set back for this VERSA the graph in this video went off the scale?
@@stephenmaas8775 Last time I detected with my brother I tried shifting to different multi's as well as single frequency's but still had strong interference so I think you may be right with your assumption.
I considered the Versa when I started thinking about upgrading my EQ600, but as there is so very little information/videos about it (at least in English) I took the safe route and got an XP Deus 2 yesterday. Very happy with that machine so far, it finds coins the equinox missed many times, but maybe the Versa would have done that too.
What is the warrenty and customer service like for the XpDius 2 Has anybody got info on customer service and replacement parts for the VERSA? I've been with Mimelab and fpund warrenty and customer service to be spot on.
I’ve been enjoying my Versa here in New York…. Well at least before the snow and cold came here, will pick it back up in the spring. Dual tone is an awesome feature. Thanks for the video Gary.
What do you enjoy finding more, old (non-silver) coins, or relics/artifacts? If I lived in England I feel like I would get bored of old slick Roman coins, and have way more find finding some sort of old object Silver coins are always good though no matter what 😁 I watch a guy in USA who uses a versa sometimes, the two tone audio seems like a interesting feature, he also likes his Nexus and Dues 2
I use tones 2. Low grunt iron, high sharp short ticks are good signals with headphones on. The more you use it, the better it gets. Sensitivity doesnt need to be set at maximum, snd i run mine about 24 to 26
Nice to see you showing the other detectors on the market Gary, have you dropped XP now? I use a few detectors as well so no issues, I used to like your XP inputs 👍 😊
Very nice tutorial Gary. Looks like a pretty neat machine. Love all the features. I love it when you can set up a machine to get those illusive smalls. Can you do more videos with this in action? Thanks!
@@The-skillschool Do the Dius 2 and Manticore detectors have this same issue as the VERSA with EMI interference when close by to others? I see lots out on group events and never once heard a complaint about others being near bye
Great video Gary, that is an impressive machine. It seems to have many of the Deus 2 features. You’re lucky you can detect right now , snow and sub freezing temps have put a damper on my fun for now.
Brilliant video looks a top machine. When it was affected by the equinox in close distance though, will this not be a disadvantage if detecting on organised digs?
Is this detector Waterproof and if so to what depth? Do you think if I go on group detecting days that this machine would have a bit of bother? I see loads out with the DIUS2 and the Manticore and I havnt heard a complaint about interference from others nearbye yet?
hi Gary I would like to see a test of Chinese Alliexpress metal detectors without any preconceived notions of what they can do and what they can't do. I think they have progressed much better than England's Viking metal detectors.with a slow recovery.
Very nice detector and functions. Unfortunately it sounds lika e nox800 and I hate this machine. It will be good if xp pit this menus options on deus 2
Thanks for the forecast! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). What's the best way to send them to Binance?

Try running it on your fields in beach mode dual 👍 it is absolutely superb on my fields in this setting through headphones, reaction 5 iron 5
Versa is absolutely phenomenal. Hoovers up tiny hammereds with tremendous id.

Thanks Dan, I think it weighs 1.3 kg but the ergonomics work well.
Any device, in the hands of Gary, begins to smell great. Thank you.
Thanks

Not sure about the Roman coins.

nice Jobb Gary Rutus Versa good machine !!!
Yes it is thank you
I have an Atrex and it’s so deep on pasture .. and I love the tones .. I’ve really been thinking about trying a Versa ..
Cheers Martin, you can borrow this one to test.
Rutus versa very much improved metal detectors plenty of adjustments and very well balanced.
Thanks Len 🤝

Wireless or a wireless module. Info on the Rutus web site

It feels nicely balanced Mike
RUTUS VERSA ... molti buono motion no motion duble setting !❤
I'm looking forward to testing it out.
Very interesting &educational, thank you Gary.

Thank you for video. Does EMI makes impossible to run versa among Minelabs?
If they are close it may be a problem in mutifrequency.

Perhaps a year or so but there have been some important updates.

Yes possibly in the future

Which is better overall? Deus XP2 or this?
