Congratulations on the new family member. You have to teach him what he can have and what he can't. If he has something he shouldn't have, say no and take it away and hand him something he can have. He isn't going to know unless you teach him. Your painting is beautiful.

Wow - excellent. I'm playing with WC, Coloured Pencils, Inktense. Look at my Acrylics every time I'm in my studio but no desire to paint with Acrylics. Thank you for inspiring me to take up my Acrylics - TODAY !!! Greetings from sunny South Africa!
I think Brandon had to move your painting lol. Gibson's fur is so silky and pretty. It was nice to see him so excited while he was out. I was imagining the new painting as you described it. It sounds like it'll be fun for you to work on. I still think you should make one with all of your babies in one large piece. Your aquatic life, studio assistants, birds, snails, and Gibson. That would be epic. Crossing my fingers.

Was looking for something completely unrelated online and happened across this video. Stunning artwork, i love how you do the tones underneath and then glaze the colours on top, its a really cool way of doing it, definitley something i'm gonna have to try in the future. You have some really good advice.

Hyacinth Macaws are a lot of people's dream bird. They are big, gentle birds. They are also one of the most expensive birds you can buy. I have seen a lot of them listed for over twenty thousand dollars!
They're also one of the loudest and most destructive 😂
My husband wants one so bad. The lady we get our raw dog food from has one named Loui. He's awesome!
I think I would prefer our smaller, less destructive, sort of quieter birds we already have 😂

I love the painting. Was wondering about putting some green into the bird or blue into the background. Sometimes it is difficult to decide about that.

Any advice on using a black base instead of white? Would you reverse the layering? Make the bird light first instead of blue like this video?

I love the way the feathers came out on this! It recently occurred to me that, unless you're doing a commissioned piece, the color is only "wrong" if you, as the artist, aren't happy with it. In regards to things like a beak or an eye and the detail required to make them look realistic, I just had the thought to try painting each individual part of a subject, as if that's the _only_ thing I'll do on that painting. If I think of doing the whole animal, it's tempting to rush through individual parts.

This is why I will never be an artist, I am too lazy to do the details or extra layers. I am like BOOM one and done I give up.
