  • @bosgaurus1
    @bosgaurus1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The cup, or Lota, is the original bidet. You will see them in the movies. You may also see what looks like a hand held shower nozzle hanging off the wallwhich is used to provide water for the same purpose. The cup, or sprayer, is held in the right hand and the washing is done with the left hand. The left hand is thus the "dirty hand" that is used for cleaning, sweeping, etc., while the right "clean" hand is used for eating, worship, etc. Don't shake hands, touch, or hand things over with the left dirty hand to Indians.
    Meet Wilbur Sargunaraj, he will teach you about Indian toilets. Please do a reaction, it will be well worth it: th-cam.com/video/dKkryfdtMNQ/w-d-xo.html

    • @bosgaurus1
      @bosgaurus1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BoringReviews
      Actually, Wilbur is a pretty nice guy. He plays a humorous south Indian heavily accented character who travels around the world promoting peace and love. and explaining cultural differences that still behind them show a unity in humanity.
      Here he shows an outdoor public toilet ("latrine") that one might find in a rural setting and explains how it is used while fully clothed in a dress shirt and tie, and pants of course. It is a "dry run", as it were. :)
      And remember, everyone who bathes or showers must wash and clean themselves everywhere. Just because the water flows over the whole body, and not just a specific area, it doesn't make it is any different or less "gross".
      Jodi will not find anything graphic or offensive, I promise. It is simply an opportunity to learn about another culture's norms.

    Note: The revelation to Jody's question 'Why would you have a plastic cup in toilet' is given in extremely truthful and graphic details, reader is advised to read it all and try not to feel disgusted as we Indians do it on a daily basis and we all go potty. Thanks!
    - You guys use the toilet paper. You apply friction between the bottom crack and the toilet paper and rub it til you have it all and flush it. A lot of us don't. We use the toilet cup. We fill up the cup (with water), we take a bit of water in our hands and go down on it. We rub our hand/finger down the crack and with remaining water we clean that hand/finger completely and that way we save the unnecessary waste of toilet paper. Afterwards we wash our hands with toilet soaps (some have sponges, some have soap papers and some have bottles). 🙂

    English is one of the official languages in India. Most of the Indians approx 90 percent people living in metro and urban cities know English. Fun fact: there are more English speakers in India than in the U.S.😅😅😅

    • @bosgaurus1
      @bosgaurus1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope and nope. A percentage of city dwellers may know a few words of English, but that is not the same as knowing English.
      "Little more is known yet from census data about who India’s English speakers are, but a large, nationally representative sample survey conducted by Lok Foundation and Oxford University, administered by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy earlier this year (2019), offers some insights. The survey finds that just 6% of respondents said they could speak English, less that what the 2011 census showed. Between mother tongue, second and third language, the 2011 census records that over 10% of Indians reported being able to speak some English." That would be around a 130,000,000 Indians who speak SOME English as compared to over 300,000,000 Americans who speak fluent English. The number of Indians who do speak English makes India the 2nd largest population of English speakers after the US.

    Imagine if all of Europe were one country, That is India. Just as many European countries have their own, language, food, culture etc. So do the states in India. Ok maybe culture is somewhat similar but again not everywhere. So the upshot is not everyone understands or speaks Hindi but most of the literate school going public would understand English. We are a country of contradictions and diversities. If you think rationally or logically we as a country should not work and stay united yet, we do. This is the beauty and mystery of India.

You would enjoy the difference, hamburgers are very bland taste wise.
