So I have noticed some issues with my beloved Louis Vuitton Victorine wallet in damier azur after filming my “best designer compact wallets” video! I immediately went into the Louis Vuitton store at Westfield Bondi Junction and ended up getting it exchanged for another wallet. I just wanted to share my experience with you so if you are having issues with any of your items, hopefully this video will help! Thank you so much for watching and have an amazing day or night :)

Isabelle - I know that you are in Australia and not the United States, however, I thought that I'd get your opinion. I am currently looking to purchase 2 key pouches and a mini pochette. When I went to the local LV stores, I discovered that they only carry pieces from the US. I really want my pieces from France. Any ideas? I was advised that if I order the items online that there would be no way to ensure that it is from France. If you are unable to guide, I'd love to hear from any of your US subscribers. Thank you in advance.
Aw I've heard that it is difficult to come across a made in France piece in the US as well! Obviously I have no personal experience but I've heard people buying through reputable personal shoppers from France at a small extra cost. But since items are slightly cheaper in France, apparently it works out to be ok. Apart from that, I have no other idea! Good luck and I'll pin this comment so hopefully someone can help you! Xx
I just bought a mini pochette and a few more slgs all made in France. I bought them in LV store in Florida, except for one that I purchased on line. I will be doing a video soon on how I came about all of the items.

I’m sorry to hear about the quality issue of the wallet. I got my mono Victorine last summer. I haven’t noticed any glazing issues yet. I keep checking it for wear of the glazing. Thanks for informing us about the wallet.

I have the exact same wallet and chose it for the same reasons (brass button, all leather for slightly higher price, hopefully minimal glazing issues) as I was debating between this or the monogram canvas one. I got mine in Oct 2018, so far it's held up beautifully. I love the feel of the soft leather and the colour makes me smile everytime I use it. Enjoy your new beauty!

Dear Isabelle! I just purchased this exact Victorine wallet while in a trip. I was wondering if I should trade it for something else, maybe a handbag like the Neo Noé in Monogram w/ black leather (and a larger Monogram Bandouliére). Of course I would have to put (much) more money, but I was seriously considering this possibility. Until I watched your video! Scarlet red looks so beautiful and luxurious in the video I guess I am gonna keep it! Unless you have some new information about its wear and tear. Oh I love it. I have the victorine wallet in monogram canvas. It is coming up to one year and it seems ok so far but I was worried. This wallet is so great. I think you made a great choice and I think that the colour is beautiful. I think a bright colour is great as you can find it in your handbag.. Congratulations 😘

Hi Isabelle! Thank you for making such detailed videos! I'm super interested in the Marine Rouge colored LV products and there is one in Victorine! I was wondering if it's easy to unzip and stretch open the coin compartment to reach for coins when the wallet is fully filled with cards?

That Victorine is a beauty! I had the monogram one with the rose ballerine but the glazing started cracking within 4 weeks. Brought it back as well, ended up exchanging for a Neverfull MM with a sizeable price difference!😅 Let us know how the empreinte one wears overtime. Would love to hear your experience as I feel the Victorine and I are not quite finished yet.😉

The empreinte is worth it and a much better choice Isabelle. Mine is the Pont neuf wallet as the Victorine in empreinte wasn't available yet at that time. I've had mine since April 2017 and I have no issues with it. It's my everyday wallet for nearly two years now and I say it is more pliable and soft. Congrats on your new wallet and I love the color. I could have gotten the red too but the glazing of the only piece they had was not good so I just got the black.

Hi Isabelle, I have the same issue with my Victorine Wallet, except I went and had the wallet reglazed and got a new pink button. Mine is in Monogram with the Rose Ballerine interior. I am now seeing the glazing coming apart again. I'm also wondering if this will happen even if I choose another material. I really like Empreinte and also the Epi leather. What I'm worried about is this wallet being mass produced and the glazing is a known problem with this wallet. Maybe you can do a review after you use yours for a couple of months and let us know if this is an issue or not. Anyway, love your videos.

I am also having premature wear and tear on my wallet but bought it online should I still take it in to a boutique? Or is it handled differently because I bought online?
I might exchange mine too. I have the same monogram one and it started to crease in on the bottom after one week! I didn't even stuff it. Did you have the same problem on the bottom?
Ughhhh I wish I knew about it. I had the same problem within the first month! 😭 many years later I’m still paying for the button to get replaced multiple times. And I’m getting lifting on the edges of the flap!
I HAD THE SAME ISSUE with the same damier azur Victorine wallet! Im on my third one! First one was cracked and they replaced me with a brand new one. That one also cracked, so they offered to reglaze for me. Tho the reglazing job was not done perfectly, but so far no cracks. However, the pink button is not doing so great. Should I take it in again? Im also a huge fan of this wallet!

I have a Victorine wallet too but i hate it when my dollar notes fold to the shape of the wallet fold . So i am back to using large wallets for now and my mini hand bags are just sitting on my shelf.
Omg, i had the same problem with the DE variant, 2 weeks after i purchased it. I returned it and they sent it to Singapore for repair and it will be for 6weeks. I thought it was ridiculous but they came back to me after 2 weeks and said it needed replacement. I got a new stock and had it hot stamped as well but i had to come back for it. When i did, the bill fold was wavy and the button was not aligned. Lol i refused it and said i have to get a different item, not the DE. I ended with the empriente leather in black instead. I liked the red but not available. LV lost 2 wallets to me bec i had them stamped with my initials. 😐 Good thing luxe goods are easy to return tho! Haha
Had same problem with my Gucci Ophidia Large Tote 3 months old 3x wormed, I’ve noticed it when I was putting it in on the dust bag 4 edges on the bottom are peeling off. Took it to Brisbane Gucci they said it takes 2-4 weeks to know their decision. Like you I won’t want the same bag. Hope Gucci will do the same like Louis Vuitton.

Wow! Love the pop of color! i just love the scarlet color even with other bags like the pochette metis and felicie. I have the victorine wallet i purchased end of september and have used it everyday but didnt really open as i tend to just grab my card from the top part but i can see the same issue like yours. i have the brown interior so the button is gold and its fine. I love the victorine wallet esp in monogram so im thinking to have it exchange for the same item but like you im so worried that it might happen again. I absolutely love the Monogram with the brown interior! It is so classic! But I agree with possible glazing issue again as canvas pieces can be quite stiff. I love the Zoe wallet in empriente, if you don't carry too much with you, I'd say the Zoe is really good. I utilise all 6 card slots in the victorine wallet so I found zoe to be slightly small for me! Xx

Definitely a way better choice. Nothing's as classic as a good leather wallet.
I have the same issue with my victorine wallet as well . It was charged me $90 Aud when I exchanged the leather button even still has warranty duration. 😔

I need you advice. I want an everyday light weight “compact” wallet (so the weight of the wallet reduces!). I’m shuttling between, Victorine wallet (same colour and material as yours), Pallas Compact Wallet with S lock (M67478) and Capucine compact wallet. Which do you feel is the least maintainence and most durable among these three? I prefer not to have canvas wallet as I’m currently having glazing issue with my Sarah wallet in Monogram print.

Hi hun! I would pick the Victorine wallet as it will most likely be the easiest maintenance. Since I got my red empriente one, I haven't had any glazing issues so far and I'm totally loving it. Also, the other two styles are not as compact as the Victorine! Hope this helps and good luck with your decision :) Xx

Had the same issue with my Emilie wallet last year. The button was starting to show wear and tear at 6 weeks and LV at the Rocks wouldn't do anything about it. Still very upset about it and it's been in it's box ever since.
I'm so sorry to hear that hun! I'd suggest going into the Maison store on George st. I had the same issue with my 6 key holder but since I had it for 2-3 years, they said I need to pay $45 for button replacement which I was fine with, but they said if it was within 1 yr, the replacement is at no charge! Xx

The LVs from Singapore fall apart worse than my coach / kate spade items !!
I've been using my victorine wallet in monogram rose ballerine for a about 2 months now, thankfully I didn't have the glazing or button issue like yours! But it did have a bit of a color transfer from my red bag but it's slowly fading phew! My only issue with this is that the wallet looks a tiny bit crooked when it wasn't filled up which is a bummer considering the price! I went to the store to check and every single one of it has this issue hmm

Isabelle Ahn I agree! It really depends on who you talk to. i went to the same store and talk to different SA but they treated me differently. In my local store they have more men than women, for me it is easier to talk to men than a woman sales associate basing on my experience. Even we were treated badly with the manager of the store. So frustrating how they treat you to think we are paying too much for a bag/wallet. I hope i will have the same luck with you when i visit again 🤞🏼🤞🏼🙏🏼

I have the same issue with my victorine wallet, I went to LV store here in UAE but they didn’t change it and I have to wait for confirmation of repair after two weeks. I’m so disappointed.

That's why I can't wrap my head around why people are still raving about LV. Paying premium prices for canvas products and may have to deal with glazing issues down the road? Although I must say I am impressed with their after sales service. But I suppose they almost have to with all the issues with their products. Not only their bags and slgs have glazing issues, belts as well.

You can replace the button to a brass one just so you know kkk
I did do that with my 6 key holder and it is the best! I just was more concerned about the glazing issue happening again, so just preferred to try the softer empriente leather! Xx
I wasn't allowed to change my button on my Emilie wallet (monogram with fuchsia)to a brass one :(

christmas9lights it had to be replaced and they said they don't change it for a different one.. I agree, some of them are definitely not as helpful as others... I had to get my button replaced and the glazing fixed within the one year warranty and since I got it back I only use it very carefully, quite annoying.

Sorry, but in China, red wallet means it’s really easy to lose money. Not good choice for wallet. Of course that’s only superstitious theory.
Luxury brands comes and go. I don't understand why having a certain standards of luxury is more important than anything else. If the luxury items are caught on fire it's completely destroyed. So what's the quality of the after product? Still new? Who cares it's just a wallet. Don't stress too much about all this issues. There's so many issues in out daily life than ranting about a wallet. What's up with humanity nowadays. I can't be bothered about luxury brands. What I care about is my health and my physical well being. Someone is stressed about a wallet and it takes much of your mental stress. So funny isn't it.
It's funny that you don't like luxury and you watched the video. People are entitled to spend their money however they want, if you don't like it or it bothers you then you don't have to watch TH-cam videos about it. No one is forcing you.
