I don’t think the composers realized the world would get globalized and they’d be caught. It does take away a little bit from my enjoyment knowing it’s copied but I still do enjoy the songs.
The world has always been globalized for at least 5000 years.
Just the way NASA didn’t realize :) :) by the way Birman was vocal about these inspirations himself ….
BTW RD Burman has created hundreds of songs which are Original and TIMELESS.
This video made me sad.. PANCHAM DA is one of the greatest musician, composer and singer. It made me sad that you guys didn't even checked out his original songs (more than 1500 songs) and you guys don't even know how good he is.. I'm not even from India.. but in my country, people adore and respect RD for his music and his legacy.. we are still inspiring from his music..
Correct … :) :) 25/30 out of 4000 compositions :) also Burman was much vocal about these … it’s not alike a con job etc…
Dear What used to happen and it still happen is that the producer of the Movie used to bring these western Hit music cassette to the Music Composer and ask them to copy it to piggyback on the success of the song.
Big RD Fan, but why didnt these producers do same for Madan Mohan, Usha Khanna, or Naushad. lets accept the fact and enjoy the music.
@@ShahrukhKhan-ll1vz Dear most of them did it . For Madan Mohan one example is his early tune 'Dil dilse milakar dekho' (Memsahib) which was inspired by the English song 'Isle of Capri'. For Naushad one example is his music for song from movie 'Udan Khatola' - " Mera Salam le ja" which was inspired from Elqamh al layla... Arabic sung by Nour el Houda & Abdul Wahhab 1947. Copy, Inspiration, mixing , rearrangement all these things are part of creative process. Editing it to add one example for Usha Khanna - Her song Dil Deke Dekho was copy of song - Sugartime sung by The McGuire Sisters in 1958.
Shahrukhkhan got owned .
May be I m *biased* but Hindi copied song sound way more better than original 😅
I agree😅😉
Copy can not Defeat The Original..
Copy is Copy..
@@tanmayraj7439 copy is copy i know ..what I m saying is Hindi( lyrics &tune both)💛 song sound beautiful than English one at least for me and i already mentioned that I m biased ✨
@@ShivaniPathak_1225 You are Biased now i Understand..
@@ShivaniPathak_1225 Yeah personal taste, I'm not native english nor indian but english versions were better sorry
TBH He was very honest when ever he got an inspiration from another song . Take a look at his interview in Hindi . For us Pancham (R D Burman ) is a love affair
inspiration and plagiarizing both are different thing you need to learn the difference.and dont say to be honest if you dont wanna be honest at all
@@ND00923TBH you are right
@@ND00923 Then in that case every music , art form uses something that exists from hundreds of years, everything is copied Or lifted from their predecessors isnt it ? Now you be honest
It's called theft 😂
@@nskreviews923 first of all you need to learn how to make an argument. Second thing if rd burman had used some core progression or chords or beat mixing that would be an inspiration. But copying down the whole song note to note from start to the end is a theft. And he is not copying music from 1400 and make it modern. He literally fking took the modern music and just translated a language is not inspiration. Jeez you need education if you cant even understand such a simple subject and difference
Vote for Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar top 250 songs
Nahi
Why do you guys want to see reaction to 100 or 250 songs? You really think they would be able to grasp anything from listening to 2-3 seconds of these songs?
Please up up up
@@scientia.veritas Bro they don't react to old songs at all they are stuck on Arijit, Shreya and others at least let them do this compilation reaction
I'm very thankful R D Burman made these songs. They are some of my all time favorites. The originals were not readily available to Indians at the time. So I don't care.
"That's a great song. How did you come up with the tune?"
RD Burman: 10:13
hahahaha
😂
Hahaha😂
The shooting of *Sholay* began in October 1973. In Bollywood, it's common to record songs before filming starts and to release them early to generate buzz, particularly item numbers.
Ramesh Sippy himself said that he attended a concert of Roussos in London with his wife and his wife wanted the song "Say you love me" to be remade into Hindi.....Also Sholay's soundtracks released about a month before the movie in 1975
Agreed in those times movie used to come late but the songs used to get released earlier to promote movie.
Actually during those time the composers had a lot of work like 100 songs a year so the producers or the makers of the film use to suggest songs to copy or sample and it's true most of the time it's copied and sometimes they've mentioned that this is a remake but they also have created original music and all of these are great songs. I hope you this explains why great composers like RD Burman copied songs😊
Fun fact: Mehbooba Mehbooba song actress is Salman Khan 's step mother, great actress of her time.
I wouldn't say a great actress...but more like a well known dancer...as much as I don't like to say the original 'item girl'
RD Burman copied but in his own style and made the whole rhythm/percussion system like no one else! Also 1% maybe copied, the other 99% he made was pure musical genius, the rhythms, the homemade instruments, the magic is unmatched
So before you check out the legend RD and discover hos songs, you checkout the songs he copied, which is fine. But put dome effort to listen to real RD Burman and his Genuis and why he is revered in India, you eill effin go crazy about the "chord progression" you talk about all the time. Indian Musicians are Master of chord progression, so thats about it. The copying of song is not always the Music director's decesion, sometimes its the film director aometimes the producer or even investor.
exactly, he changed keys, had beautiful chord progressions, had polyrhythms, changed rhythms mid song, unmatched vocals, what a legend rdb was is and will be!
In a sense i dont care if it was copied or not because if these melodies were not made in Indian cinema i would have never heard it , but i agree credit should be given to the creator.
Hello Waleska & Efra, the stunning dancer on the song ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’ from the film Sholay, is the iconic and legendary actress/dancer Helen - Salman Khans step mum. Of Burmese & Indian descent the beautiful Helen started in Indian films in 1950s. She didn’t fit the roles of the stereo typical goody goody leading lady, so carved a niche for herself as the bad girl/ cabaret dancer with a vulnerability and longing for love behind a hard exterior. Helen performing a cabaret number became feature of most films in the 60s & 70s. Asha Bhosle sang most of the cabaret songs for her, often composed by R.D. Burman. Lata also did a few. She choreographed her own routines and designed her own outfits. She put her heart into these cabaret roles and inspired all modern dancers till today. No one will come close to Helen. She deserves more recognition and a tribute reaction from you both. Loads of compilation videos of Helens performances on this site. Hope you will explore this stunning legend 🙏💃💃💃
P.s I recommend the compilation Dancing Diva - Helen, uploaded by Gaane ke Jukebox; Lata & R.D. Burman song ‘Aa Jane Jaa’ from 1969 film Inteqam; Award winning Asha Bhosle song for Helen from the film Caravan ‘Piya Tu an to aaja’. So many to choose from.
P.p.s I have my own Helen playlist called ‘Helens Dances’ uploaded by sanjnandh. Check it out.
R.D burman was heavily inspired by western music . he wants to bring the new music genre in india . he inspire by these songs he was different .his father is argubly the greatest composer in bollywood if he wants to copy he could have just gone with his father music style but he want his own style he was different . truely one of the kind pancham da.
It took almost 3 years to make Sholay, the film from which the Mehbooba song is "allegedly taken". It means the songs had been composed way before the release of the so called 'original' one. The irony is, the originals are no where near popular like the "inspired" one and no one knows about the original songs or singers! In a way RDB had infused new dimension to those obscured songs which we can't deny! And RDB has unending nos of fantastic original compositions which are huge compared to his few "inspired" ones and those didn't undermine his immense talent!
PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT ONLY THE FIRST 2 - 4 LINES (which are called the "Mukhda") OF THE HINDI SONG ARE TAKEN FROM OTHER SONGS. THE MIDDLE PARTS (which are called the "Antara") OF THE HINDI SONG ARE OG COMPOSITIONS OF R.D.BURMAN!!!
Yes there are jumping to some serious conclusions based on superficial stuff :) :)
Burman made 1500+ songs and 330+ movies ,
few copies are fine i guess , arguebly made them better , I think they couldn't predict internet boom LOL
True!!!
Y'all should check out Paar Chana De (Shilpa Rao with Coke Studio Pakistan)
The thing is mehbooba is from the movie sholay which released in 1975 but they took a few years to make that movie and I believe that song was done in 1972/3 and the other is a music video which was made and released in 1974
Same
Chord progression ❌
Corporation ✅
Doesn't matter if the songs were copied or not. These songs are almost in our veins.
calm down kiddos (in comment section) , its okay !
remakes or copies of music just adds up to prev version if done well
just be honest and ask yourself- what if there were only originals all over the world and no "copies" were allowed or existed
u would be missing on so much stuff art wise.
problem is credit, give credit
not copying!
The Hindi versions sounds so much better tho
Typical 16 yr old insecure comment 😅
When western musicians "sample" Indian music for their compositions, is it not copying?
I think there is a technical difference between sampling, copying and making a cover version.
I think "copying" or rather "remaking" is fine as long as the original artist is given credit.
My problem with this particular video is that while they only looked at the remakes (as most YT videos do), they didn't pause to consider that credit might have been given in the movie credits. We don't know what the situation was in those days, it could have been with permission or even have been a collaboration. But it is true that a lot of great Indian composers and filmmakers C&P'd music/story ideas from around the world as exposure of the general public was limited.
Waleska, you should react to full versions of the songs, milgaya humko, mehbooba mehbooba, and chura liya.
Btw, chura liya is one of my favourite songs of all time. ❤
2:36 Say you love me is not original, original song is Michalis Voilaris-Ta Rialia link: th-cam.com/video/bkYEAiOjxvU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hZR-baTlMfQwWS7O
again asking you guys to react to any of Pandit Ajoy chakraborty's live performances ( Kaushiki Chakraborty's father), you must listen to videos where he sings and explains the similarities between hindustani classical and jazz music , you must view it with subtitles , its beautiful
Wow second one in English gave me goosebumps that's
a good song
He has made 1500+ songs ... obviously....some of them need to be influenced from somewhere 😅
Better first react to 1000 of RD Burman of original songs and you will understand why he is so revered in India
RD Burman, Bappi Lahiri, Anu Malik, Rajesh Roshan, Pritam, Nadeem-Shravan, Jatin-Lalit are all known for copying tunes.
Please react to 'why Marathi sounds unique' of India in pixel channel.
U have just walked urself into a brave world my friend! WELCOMR
The copied songs are so good I don't even care if they are copied at least they made it their own
They are far better than rodays remakes
Indian films from the outset ( which started during british era ) showcased songs and dance as part of almost all the film story produced so far barring few exceptions.
With millenniums and milleniums old rich heritage and deep traditional strength as source and backup ..
Most songs were of Hindusthani or Carnatic or Ghazal or folk based compositions.. And dance were also of traditional bharath natyam, kuchupudi, kathak, kathakali, punjabi bhangra and many other indian folk forms too..
But gradually, from 1950s onwards with vastly improved sound technology recordings ( lp vinyl records - stereo - dolby ) - listening english songs gained popularity ( amongst metropolitan educated youths ) and those were considered cultured elites.. Big city bars and pubs adopted it quickly..
indian film music directors were compelled to create western styled songs as per demand of film stories - for lead characters that played rich western aristocratic life style with contemporary western attires ( full suites - shoes, hat, walking sticks, pipes ) adorning them..
Obviously with inspirations from various famous western songs - indian film music directors took a leaf especially out of western classic maestros such as Beethoven, bach, vivaldi, mozart... and created few classical indian versions to suit the characters.. After all film making is for entertainment purpose and unlike traditional music forms film songs has no grammar, restrictions, category or rigid rules - if common cine goers like the song - it gets popular else it fails...
" *Did he * Copy* ? "

@@OmRSamdani 🤣🤣🤣
3:20 Quizas Quizas Quizas was composed in 1947 by Osvaldo Farres and Babu Ji dhere Chalna was composed in 1954 you can confirm it in Wikipedia
Still love these songs ❤
There is no concept of copying in art. The art has to be taken forward and it's ok to take someone's song and reinterpret it...think of all the people who have remade originals...do we say they shouldn't do it?
Because of these songs we know who the orginal singer is now😅
Same goes for korean Japanese Chinese songs. Korean composers used to copy Japanese songs, Japanese composers used to copy American music esp black music, and Chinese used to and still are copying Korean music. Back in then, they wouldn’t have imagined TH-cam would become a thing and copied music around the world.
There are 25 songs from 4000 he composed are inspired from other songs. He had friends in the west and it wasn’t like some con job - it was well published and discussed even that time when he used these tunes.. there is nothing to be embarrassed or feeling bad the way I see comments here … his classical tunes and his indigenous work dwarfs his these tunes.
Just check his “Bahaaro Ke Sapane” ->> Aaaj Piya Tohe Pyaar Du…. Or Chunari sambhal gori… the classical Indian stuff
OMG!! I didnt know they copied Leo Sayer to the last note. He was my most favorite singer in the 80s Beautiful voice he had...❤😮😅😅😅
Helen was the best dancer in Bollywood in her era and was the original "item" girl. She is also Salman Khan's stepmom.
Some may dispute the best dancer tag, but she could do any dance- Indian, Arabic, Oriental, or Western; much like Nora Fatehi today.
Male actors were mainly useless dancers, while some actresses were terrific dancers; they usually excelled in more Indian "classical" dances.
Sholay's producer's R Sippy's was in greece on holiday his wife heard th e demis rouses song and wanted it to be incorporated in a hindi film. So sippy asked RD Burman to fit the song in sholay. I think RD Burmans version is more melodious and better harmonically and rhythmically.
BTW the song is not originally from demis rousses either, he copied it from a Balkan song, so music is always recycled.
Rd Burman copied 20 songs and created more than 5000 songs, wrong information that Google is giving
It's ok for me as you know in india 1000s of movies made everyday and every movie must have songs, just few copy or sample doesn't change the fact that how talented composer he was, and our songs still sounds better 😂😂
Helen is an iconic dancer of Bollywood. Birju Maharaj, one of the greatest classical dancers had once said "Helen danced in skimpiest of the clothes but she never danced cheap, she never danced vulgar." You should react to her dance videos.

Musucian roshan {rajesh roshans bap may be} told r d trick used by him from s d burmans composition how he derived
And pancham da used same trick in few.
There are many Bachata songs from the Dominican Republic which were taken as they are from Colombian Vallenatos. Maybe that's something you want to check out 😃😃😃 But it would be considered more as a cover, but I didn't know so many of these Bachatas were originally Vallenatos!!

There are more from ABBA than anyone which were copied by Indian composers
to balance it out you should react to how britneys toxic was composed
Not just with RD Burman but a lot of Indian composers who belong to that era took advantage of the information arbitrage. 😂 They had the money to fly to other countries listen the music and then copy and paste them into Bollywood.
Sadly they didn’t predict that someday there would be technology and they would be caught. 😝
The lady in green is Helen and very much known as queen of cabre dancer
Generally, if you copy a song, it doesn't turn out as good as the original, but all these copied songs are so much better than the original!!! Pancham da was a genius!
11:44 I have been there in Netherlands this year. Now everything has changed there.
Same corporation!😅
Comforting to see native english speakers also make grammatical mistakes 😅
They are spanish not native English!
They speak Spanish
most copied come from the producers of the flim cause in one interview about chura liya song RD said that producer had heard few melodies and also songs in club which were incorporated in the same movie and then there are many originals from music directors and then comes the same or so call inspirations and such inspiration are all over the world
Top 250 kishore kumar and md rafi songs
please react to Helen songs , they are some of the best dance numbers in older bollywood
Irony is when people mocking Pritam are okay with this because he has made many songs apparently.😅
That last one is closer to ABBAs MAMA MIA
Yes credits should be given
Efra 🤣🤣🤣
To be fair, demi rusos copied it from ta rialia released in 1973.
These songs are mildly inspired & the lyrics & versus are very different but bollywood composers have been remaking songs 4 ever & most pakistani songs are copied exactly word 4 word as the language is similar.due 2 internet many have been exposed yet still receive no credit while tanishq baghchi especially remixes many songs taking away credit from original composers & artists.look out chhapa factory 2 see songs copied.while its a tradition 2 remix old popular songs many hit songs from different indian industries are remade into hindi.bollywood movies have a predominant north culture of punjabi & alot of punjabi tracks are remade into Hindi punjabi fusion.the audiences of the south & bollywood have never been tbe same but now due 2 the internet movies are dubbed & currently there is a pan india trend mixing different actors from different industries.as a bollywood audience the remakes are killing it & south movies are too ott making little sense.current bollywood is under crises as the khans have aged & quality has dropped.
Theres a lot of factors at work।।।।dont be judgmental।।।।the music director od bollywood movies is exactly that ।।।।a director not a pure composer।।। theres producer directors pressure at work too🙏🏻
The whole song is not copied ms and Mr. First listen the whole song and then compare. He took inspiration and I consider that he should have mentioned the credits but he added his knowledge, his art there. You should have heard the whole song
Copied songs don't take away my enjoyment, it's the REMAKES sometimes. I have no idea if I'm sensitive or something, but yes.
jeez
Those great composers don't tht 50-60 later ,one of invention TH-cam will be in place and which will show world about their compositions are copied one.....some of other greats are Anu Malik of 90's and pareetm 2010'
All indian versions of the songs are way better than the originals...and who the fuck knew the originals? :)) I'm not indian, but "chura liya" is a piece of ART
Helen is Salman's stepmother
Times were different I guess and idk how these album's and songs travel across borders back then may be through NRIs or physical copy...
Waleska Herrera, i just subscribed
RD burman composed 1000's of songs and most of his loved work isn't copied. Composers back in the day were completely dependent on producers. You can see how in Mehbooba the video is copied too so that is where producers and directors force the composer to copy.
Chor to tha hi
composers before him copied too
12:10 Same -chord progression- corporation?
It’s their editor I guess 😁
Mostly Bollywood famous song copied words by words from Pakistani old movies or others Pakistani singers I/c Gread Nusrat Fathe Khan.
Listener don't care og or copy we just want to enjoy the song
RD Burman copying before the advent of internet is forgivable... Pritam doing it in a globalised world is not....
for few songs he copied RD Burman has scores of original masterpieces
Please Review his songs from Ijaazat OST 4 gems by Asha Bhosle

Also react on copied song from pakistan.too many songs they also copy from pakistan.
React to chappa factory any one part you enjoy both
RD Burman has produced 1000s of original songs but its always only copied songs get highlighted same is with Anu Malik, Pritam everybody although RD Burman has copied few compare to other mentioned above but thats how world is good gets unnoticed and bad gets all the attention 🙏
It must be on a wednesday cus its copied 🤣🤣
They even copied Elvis Presley's "Margherita" and made "Kaun hai jo sapno mein aaya".
Helen is salman khans mother
You should watch SHOLEY movie
Most easiest thing in bollywood
Be a music producer
And a story writer 😂😂
What you need just search research pick copy paste 😂😂
Thats why i have no respect for our bollywood music producer and story writer
I dont know who guvest them a money for just sitting no creativity no hard work just woke up and copy paste it 😒
Zero respect for them
And they need to be exposed
😂😂
Plz reaction on Bollywood chapa(cheating) factory number 5.
They are copied but still I will prefer to listen to RD Burman or Indian songs you can definitely not ignore how old bollywood songs still today are alive , known and liked and the originals are not known due to language barriers.so you should be happy that RD Burman chose those songs and made them magical .
Don't know the originals. Don't care either.
My issue is, RD Burman was a genius. And hence too many people are willing to give him an easy pass for his obvious instances of plagiarism. Anu Malik, on the other hand, doesn't have that privilege. Be sure, even Anu Malik has had some brilliant, original compositions.
