As an American, I don't see the Chinese support for Russia as tragic. It is simply 2 sovereign nations having good relations and working together, where is the issue in that. Our government could have had good ties with both China and Russia, but instead chose to antagonize both and warmonger around the world which caused the issues of today. Once the Cold War ended, we could have formed strong and friendly relations with both, however the US Government wanted to be the world dominant force, which caused major issues.
