Queen is Legendary and always will be..Amazing chemistry, totally focused, very harmonized, and a lot of energy. Freddie, Brian, Roger and John, best musicians by far. Don't forget Roger's backing vocals while playing the drums. Concerts are not like that today. No lip syncing whatsoever. Pure talent. ❤️🔥

The thing I really appreciate about your review is that you mentioned the BAND, not just Freddie. Obviously Freddie was a king, a legend-- but Queen as a band was SAVAGE. Everyone gave it their 110%, both in studio and live. Everyone was at the top of their game all the time and doing their best to make whatever they were playing at the moment sound the best it could. The intensity that every single band member brought to every single performance.. there's just not many bands like that.

Great great reaction. Try in with a headset. Freddie is a genius, has a degree in art design, no vocal trading, Brian May was an astrophysicist and made his own guitar, John Deacon electrical engineer, made the amp which still can't be duplicated, roger Taylor biologist and dentistry. And they played and sang like that! It just doesn't get better than that, absolutely legendart

"Save Me" from the same concert is amazing

  • @eileenegger4892
    @eileenegger4892 3 ปีที่แล้ว

You’re only beginning to appreciate the phenomenon known as Queen. The guitarist,Dr. Brian May, is known as one of the best guitarist in the world. He is also an astrophysicist and has worked with NASA. Roger Taylor, the drummer, was phenomenal on this one,so much energy,I loved his back and forth with Freddie toward the end. Often overlooked is John Deacon, the bassist who, like the others, contributed songs that became top ten hits. Freddie Mercury is now a legend and is generally recognized as the best frontman ever. His vocal range was at least 4 octaves and he had a knack for audience participation.
The drinks on the piano, phhh. This was a Rock Band! Besides,Freddie always needed his water, might have a beer. I imagine some of those cups belonged to stage crew you never see,for instance the guy who always hands Freddie’s mic to him and takes it from him as he returns to the piano.
Remember, this was all before autotune or any other electrical enhancements; just pure talent and a lot of work to be totally in sync with each other.

Marla Hudgins I never fail to pump a fist and mime that "Yeah, Yeah" at the end. It speaks to how great a singer Freddie was when you hear Roger or Brian sing. Anywhere else they would be taking the lead on vocals.

Freddie could belt it out, but he was also capable of really delicate vocals as well, just listen to You Take My Breath Away live at Hyde Park '76. His voice is almost ethereal. In fact there wasn't much he couldn't sing, the band didn't just stick to rock music, they covered blues, ballads, ragtime, metal and just about anything else you can think of musically.
If you want to see the true power of Queen and Freddie Mercury, watch their 20 min Live Aid set from 1985. Freddie has the 70,000 strong crowd in the palm of his hand, not to mention those watching via satellite around the world.

Three small cups were water, two larger cups had beer. This was from the middle of the concert, and he only had a sip of beer right before singing a powerful note. Interesting how people focus in on that. Not that they didn't indulge.....but it did not detract from the quality of their performance. Glad you noticed the band as a whole. They were all amazing.

This tour of Queen was my very first concert..The Forum in LA 1982....no concert since has ever compared!
Two things....1, I love how shocked younger people are to see the booze on the piano...that was the 70’s and 80’s rock! Every group I saw...every house I partied at...booze🤪....2, what the movie finally answered for me was why Freddie always used a half mic...if you watch the very first time he sang and the crowd was jeering at him and laughing as he tried to raise the mic and it wouldn’t go...so he just yanked it off...and it became one of his trademarks, Just as Steven Tyler of Aerosmith always had scarfs tied to his mic.
I miss Freddie so much! He and the band were such a part of my right of passage into adulthood.
Thanks for sharing your reaction to this awesome video!!

Great vid! You will come to learn that you will enjoy their live songs much more than their studio recorded ones, the studio equipment that is suppose to help a groups talent, actually took away from theirs. They were always that tight with their instruments and vocals when they played live. They achieved a perfect balance and never played over one another, it was amazing! Each are a legend in their own right, will never be another band like them.

Oh, you must do some more Freddie!!! He was awesome! He never liked to have the whole mic stand because it made it hard for him to move about. Anyone who knows Freddie Mercury knows he likes to show out in every performance. He just broke the mic tand one day and started singing with just half of the stand. That half mic stand was was almost like a 5th band member. The drummer did all of the opera notes in their most famous song, "Bohemian Rhapsody." Every member could sing, but Freddie took them to a whole new level of greatness! If you have not seen the movie about Freddie Mercury and Queen, you must see it immediately! The music and the story is so fantastic. You also must watch their Live Aid performance. That performance has been named the best rock-n-roll band performance of all time!!! Seriously, "Bohemian Rhapsody" must be your next movie to see! ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JustTheVoice. Queen was the name of the group. He suggested the name back in 1971....because it meant " Royal " ..." Big "...." Grand ". He was gay, yes. Bi-sexual actually. Dated girls but mostly guys. So, " Queen " if you connect it with sexuality, could have that meaning also tied to it. But, it moreso meant Royal...Grand...Special...Majestic. He wanted the group to have a big, powerful, special, " high class " name to match their big musical style.

Not all liquor!! Freddie always had a warm mixture of water, honey & lemon for his throat. He also had water. While he may have had a beer up there,so did roadies and so forth around him.
I have to say the audio on this was c***.

He has some Heiniken beer. But mostly water. Alcohol isn't good for the voice. But it helps loosen him up I imagine. Enjoyed your reaction.

That's not liquor. Freddie always had to have herbal teas, green tea and honey. He always had a sore throat.
