I’ve really enjoyed every video you’ve made about Pwnagotchi-it’s always exciting to see your creative takes on this project! Thank you for your contributions to the Pwnagotchi community; your detailed guides and insights are incredibly valuable and inspiring to both new and experienced users alike. It’s a bit of a shame not to see Waveshare’s eInk displays featured this time, but who knows-maybe there’s a chance in the future! Keep up the amazing work, and thank you again for sharing your expertise!
Hi Waveshare_Ruan, thank you for your support! I hope to have a Bjorn Cyber Viking tutorial out sometime next month; waveshare e-ink displays will likely be back in vogue!
Well this sucks so bad .... First there was 0 explanation where the themes folder to copy over comes from....it's nowhere to be found. Connected to the web UI anyways and enabled the PWNagotchi , went into that and of course I couldnt select any theme cause well I suppose I have none with no explanation how to get them....anyways I edited the toml file with "displayhatmini" and rebooted and nada still not working...so I decided to try to go back to the web UI but now it will NOT allow me to connect it says it "refused to connect"!!!! Anyone got any solutions? Ideas?
The filament is either Hatchbox or Bambu black PLA, but the effect is achieved by printing it on Starry side of the Wefuit Starry + Textured build plate amzn.to/3yFzaaj I have a vid where I compare all the prismatic effects: th-cam.com/video/1a6xxX5UAW8/w-d-xo.html
Anyone else having issues with the Pi Sugar 2 not making connection to factory pre-soldered headers? Its like they are too short on the bottom of the Pi.
@@cyberspacemanmike Right the pogo pins are spring loaded. Everything is lined up but it just wont make a connection. The pins are cupped on the ends to accommodate the solder lump on the underside of the header. But the factory headers are ground down far enough on the underside to be flat. Looks like i need to break out the iron.
@@LP-fy8wr I don't know, it seems like there has to be some other issue. The pogo pins should be more than long enough: th-cam.com/video/R-fTPv09vQ8/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared&t=206
@@Pino3_ My only exp. is w/ v2 which should have a public release later in the week. V2 might fix things. Otherwise I would check in the config.toml file to make sure Fancygotchi is set to true there. Finally, I encountered an issue (detailed in the blog post on cyberspacemanmike.com) where the config.toml was being overwritten w/ defaults w/ ea. reboot. Simply typing "sync" into the console fixed it.
I hope to get to the software side of things but it probably won't be until next month. The Discord folks are more knowledegable than me at this point though and they're super helpful: discord.com/invite/CMQpC7Zfnv
It should be worth noting that raspberry pi zero 2ws had a chipset revision making them impossible to use with all current images. Until there is a fix you need to find a pre updated revision.
I didn't know that. When was the revision? What's the first revision that doesn't work? The ones that I bought last month and linked are the 2021 versions.
@@cyberspacemanmike I mean I took have a pi zero 2w and JayOfelony's GitHub worked with my PWNagotchi but I used a Pimoroni HAT display mini and only half the screen works and never found a work-around or solution but plan to try the Aluminum Ice version and your guide to get it working properly. BTW...that friggin case man....absolutely gorgeous and I definitely plan to also turn off the eyeball lasers on my PWNagotchi as well.
@cyberspacemanmike Amazon ships them out from that link just whatever inventory they have on hand, I know because I was shipped 2 of 3 of mine from a 2024 batch. The date on the post is just the release date. I'm not sure the exact revision number, you can see the changes based on the silk screen on the chips themselves. The newer revisions have problems going into monitor mode and it's been an on going hot topic on the discord on how or if it's gonna be fixxed or not.
It is possible if you update the displaydrivers with my script linked above, the SSD1306 based or compatible I2C displays are supported, but with a max resolution of 128x64 pixels and a monochrome display, you are far better off with the displayhatmini, and that has 4 buttons too, that can handle the fancy menu among other stuff too.
You are a savage! Thank you for this walkthrough!
Np, I hope it is helpful! (⌐■_■)👍

I am the original developer of Pwnagotchi bootanimation :)
Awesome! looks very cool!
(ᵔ◡◡ᵔ) Thanks!
Hey I made a short based on your suggestion!
👍
Great tutorial! Never seen one for the fancy👍💯
Hey thanks! Talking Sasquach had a good one for the previous version but I think this is the first for Fancygotchi 2.0.
thankyou!!
Np! Good seeing you again! :)
good stuff
I appreciate it! This got immediately voted down on r/pwnagotchi lol don't know why! (^‿‿^)

Oh, BTW I added a lens flare filter half-way through the hero shot, it doesn't do that IRL.
battery is the main thing in this project and it's not great :/ better not use it at all and just put on power bank.
Is this compatible with any other similar screen?
I asked the dev what other screens he recommends, I expect to hear back soon.
Anyone else having issues with the Pi Sugar 2 not making connection to factory pre-soldered headers? Its like they are too short on the bottom of the Pi.
They're spring-loaded so they should adjust to accommodate the height of the solder. I have encountered defective pins however.

i had to add a little extra solder on the pins on mine because they weren't long enough to make contact

Yes! The files are available, for free, on cyberspacemanmike.com/shop. You can also get it printed there for $15 + S&H.
Can I Make one pwnagotchi orfancygotchi a 0.96 0led if i can please help me out i am really w8 for this
AFIAK it is possible. You'd have to wire it to the GPIO pins and do a bunch libraries and config wise though.
