Good score! I used to buy 283 Chevies and 289 Fords just for fun when they turned up. Always found a home for them back in my teens and early twenties. She’ll give you good service and a great price.
My 57 had a 283 with a power glide. I put a lumpy cam a 4 barrel and headers on it. If memory serves me it would scream to 50+ mph in first gear. Lot’s off fun.
As I recall the 1964 Chev Belair we had when I was a kid had a 283 engine. It was an automatic but I remember my older brothers putting the pedal down and you hit passing gear. That was impressive. The other memory is the dash had a green light that would go off when the car was warmed up. We played a guessing game … when will light off.
From watching the internet I wasn't aware anybody swapped anything that wasn't an LS?!?! I don't know who sold you these motors but I would say he is man of his word and solid Feller!👍 She sounds like a good one!
@WildWestGarage The LS is definitely an ugly engine! They are just so readily available and the aftermarket is full of upgrades for them that a whole lotta builders have forgotten their is anything else it seems!
Your knowledge is a good watch for everyone. Nice find my friend. ♥️👍
Great video, Morg! And, quite the score 😉👍!
Great buy on those engines, thanks for the helpful dipstick tip as well!
I do what I can

I went after these engines thinking I would get a bunch of good parts at best. Having the engine run so nice was a big bonus.
@@WildWestGarage you can daily that Pontiac for the summer, the rings will come around, and best part is u are in it for cheap!!
Dang good video Morgan. She does purr like a kitten doesn’t she! Too bad it’s not a 327 but it’ll work for sure. Thanks much for the video. 0:10

I’m not an LS fan. I think an engine should look good while it’s making power. An LS makes power but….

Awesome, you should play the lottery, great videos
