I really loved his review. Not because of the score he gave, but how eloquently he explained each of the game's facets and why he thinks of them the day he does. Keep it up man. You got yourself a faithful subscriber.
Haven't read any text reviews yet but what about graphic differences between pc and console? And are there any plans for the game to come out on steam?
Even though I only played the Beta, I had a lot of fun with Crash Site for the shield throwing alone. Only the bow can possibly match how satisfying it is to bash someone's head in in a millisecond.
Hey Adam, Do you think its right that Microsoft requires a payment in order to enjoy Xbox online services? Do you think the Xbox 720 will also require a payment for online services?
Awesome review Sess, thanks for doing the reddit AMA, I don't think I would have found your new channel if you hadn't answered a bunch of random questions. :)
Sessler reviews > Every other review Damn, Adam covers absolutely everything. I'm not a big fan of sci-fi shooters, but he certainly got me interested enough. Especially regarding the multiplayer modes that revolve around teamwork, rather than mindless nade' chuckin'.
Do you guys do halves for review scores, like 3.5, 4.5 etc? Because simply, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 for a score seems far too small wiggle room and a 4 sounds a whole lot better than a 3 while a 5 seem unprofessional (no game can be perfect).
I like Adam's reviews because unlike most other critics. He genuinely knows what he's talking about and I often agree with his talking points. Good review!
Another hard hitting honest review from the Sess. I want to throw something out there if you ever look at this comment. In the upcoming E3 event just a few months away, is there anything you're personally hoping to see there or have you already seen everything you wanted to see from games already? I'm quite curious to know what you're expecting mostly to see this year.
I highly doubt it, but you could be right. I only doubt the use of the controller because FPS games are much more suited to be played with a keyboard and mouse set-up, and if you have a keyboard and mouse at your disposal (which every PC does), why on earth would you choose to use a controller? So I still think they were playing it on XBOX 360.
Love that there's some actual praise here for the amazing art direction. Too many reviews have stated that "Crytek are renowned for their rig-melting graphics" as if that somehow means we should stop praising them for this amazing technological feat
Question for Adam: Do you allow your expectations and the general hype surrounding a game prior to launch effect how you rate a game? It seems that over the industry the more a game is hyped up, the more the fan boys are frothing at the mouth for it, the more harshly it is judged. Take ACM for example, I cant help but think that it may not have been so harshly judged if it wasn't an 'Aliens' game that had many many fans very excited about the prospect of a true video game sequel to the film.
except that Sesslers complaint was the inability to find enemies or exits, which is kinda fixed by thermal vision. Though i do agree with you, that would be my only complaint from the Batman games.
I haven't watched an Adam Sessler review before this, but I watched X-Play when I was young. When he said "3... out of 5" like he did back then I had a pretty strong nostalgic moment..
I think adam was the best thing that couldve happened to rev3 games. Didnt know it existed until I found out you were here. ive been a fan since the days of extended play, kate botello, and tech live back in 1999 when I was 12. Stopped watching when it became straight g4 and not even g4techv. Love you, dude
I love Adam's take on reviews for games because they're honest and more mature like his thoughts on the multiplayer. TBH I've never been that interested in the Crysis games they always hit me like they were nothing more than a really pretty sci-fi fps with no substance. Keep up the good work Adam.
There was definitely a few levels in Crysis 3 that I keep replaying for the awesome feel and gameplay too. Like the Hydro Dam level and the level right after that.
correct me if I'm wrong there is still tomb raider, God of War (which the multiplayer may push it over the top as a must have game) south park (which despite delay rumors is sticking to that march 5th date
To people who know about Crysis more than i do (most people). Ive played and completed Crysis 1 and 2 but i don't get how Prophet (New Prophet) remembers who Psycho is considering he was in Crysis 1 and old prophet didn't tell new prophet about him
Prophet's memories, personality and everything else that makes him who he was intergrated or saved into the nanosuite and Alcatraz who was close to death was kept alive by the suite itself then eventually eveything that was prophet took over Alcatraz's body. At the end of Crysis 2 after silence throughout the whole game, Alcatraz says, "I'm Prophet!"
Ps: Can you review SimCity when it comes out. It's a reboot of the series and would like you opinion about it prior to plopping down my hard earns clams.
Compare this review to the Gametrailers one. The GT review was pretty much a commercial for the game. It got a good score and was pretty much described as the perfect game. I really have to give Adam props for telling like it is.
It feels like Adam gets to say more about how HE views the game rather than how WE should view the game. It's really great to hear Adam talk about how he experience trouble, because I know that in darkness you use nanovison to help get around. But that doesn't take away from his review, it just highlights the experience he had with the game. This review format really allows for more dialogue and insight into the scores, and I for one couldn't be more happy. A 5...Out of 5.
I've played the other two and had fun with them. Hoping we see something from these guys on next gen because they really know how to make a good looking game.
Exactly. Sometimes the best marketing strategy is ambiguity I guess. Also, I think expectations increase in proportion to the increase in hardware and software capabilities. Now more than ever we look for so much content and depth in each game we play, not to mention graphical polish, maybe some developers start to lose sight of the fact that we play games to have fun
It's kind of funny to hear him say that at the end because when I started watching it I was already thinking 'He hasn't really loved a game yet', not that it's fault though. It's right in line with other reviews I've read of Crysis 3. It sure is beautiful though on PC.
I've been using TH-cam for game reviews for many years now, and I remember Adam from G4. I am a big TH-cam lover and I have about 100 subs I think. And I didn't know Adam had a channel. This is the first I've seen this channel. What the F'ing F?
I liked C3 quite a bit. It took me over 11 hrs and I felt it maintained its imagination all the way through. Definitely an improvement all-round on C2 (which I also enjoyed). I constantly died in the last boss battle, until I realized that when you run it must be with armor off.
I cannot believe that this game was reviewed using an XBOX 360! The visuals on this game were created with the PC in mind (for once! - referring to the countless games that are ported over to PC every year). The graphics on the PC are AMAZING if you have a strong enough rig.
Crysis 3 was/is fucking awesome,so many haters on this game. Normally I consider graphics separate from gameplay but when it comes to Cry3's level design... You need to max that shit out. Something whiny ass console players will not understand until they join the pc master race and upgrade from there crappy ass machines... Hell, I built my pc last year and it still wipes the floor of Xone's or PS4's... Ranting aside, the last 1/3 of Crysis 3 is somewhat expected as we know what the outcome will be (with how the story leads you on), but its fucking awesome because you're saving the earth from total annihilation while doing it as a post human ninja badass... With level design and scope that dwarfs any other shooter, an epic soundtrack that pulls at the heart and the most graphically superior game out so far... Crysis3 fucking rocked. 9/10 This review is coming from someone who recognizes the worlds best FPS single player campaign... Turok 2 Seeds Of Evil. Play this on a pc... Or not at all. You insult Crytec when you insert this game in a console.
well their money comes from consoles and hear the reviews it said that on consoles looks awesome yes the pc have some edge but I see the 2 and belive me is not like day and Night, like others games, crytek knows how to make this looks incredible on. consoles, also is the only place the devs can get their money back, this buisness now is consoles if the developers want to make any money at all pc alone wont cut it
The cloak mode with bow might as well be god mode, and unfortunately if you don't use the cloak you die almost instantly so there isn't the option to make it tougher by just not using an ability.. I didn't find it dark, bows ammo is unlimited as you can pick up your arrows. Completely agree with adams review. I played it on PC so of course the visuals are epic.. much better than 2's but I couldn't get enough of 2 and with this if it was any longer I would have stopped playing before the end.
I got this game a few weeks ago and have played a few levels of the single player. I really don't like it. with the bows re pick-uppable arrows and they way cloaking works(being completely invisible until it runs out and you hide and let it recharge) The whole time I was hiding, scanning for enemies, cloaking, shooting a few, hiding again, cloaking again, shooting again, killing them all then slowly picking back up my arrows, and going to the next area to repeat it.
I love that new IPs and innovative games like Journey are really getting the recognition they deserve, not that there is anything wrong with all these big budget sequels but hopefully it will show the developers that they are becoming stale and they can be rewarded if they take the risks.
Your 3/5 reviews are the most interesting because theres an even amount of likes and dislikes more or less. Its great when reviews really pick apart he game rather than just sounding like hype.
While I agree, I don't see why Bayonetta 2 is relevant, it's made by Platinum, but the Timesplitters games were made by the same team as the Crysis games, they just used to have a different name.
Adam Sessler is the greatest reviewer EVER. I'm sorry, you cannot disagree. You just can't. "Stealthy, nasty, one shot and your dead bows. I kinda like'em. Not enough to see The Hunger Games. But I get it now."hahahahaha But I want Crysis 3 so much! The art style is so legit.
I like this review mainly for the points Adam mentioned, and yes, I'm still gonna buy it for the sake of the visual and also, to understand more about what Adam like and dislike about the game.........hey, it is after all a personal review. Maybe I can come out with one too~
Dang it...I thought Adam finally getting away from "the man" would let him spread his wings and make funny, entertaining, and informative reviews again. This review shows me though I have to accept the fact those days are gone. Goodbye Adam's silly and shining humor...I will truly miss you. Good thing I have a collection of old, funny X-Play segments to look back on though.
Yeah, me too. Supersoldier is easy, I mean, the Cloak and Predator Bow make things a cakewalk, the only noticable difference from the normal difficulty to Supersoldier is the lack of crosshairs and stuff and improved aiming-a.i.
Wow, I've never seen a rev3games review before this one. I really like the detailed use of likes and dislikes. I'm kinda glad that g4 dismantled themselves. Their mistake wasn't dissolving, it was the years of sucking that led up to that. Don't get me wrong, their shows were great, but I think the talent of the people working at a company can really only get you so far.
If you have a pc rig good enough to play this game... GO FOR IT. It's worth every penny/cent/dollar. Multiplayer is pretty beast, sadly there aren't servers all around the world (i.e. Australia), but it really does shine in the single player campaign. Pure awesomeness, and the most badass storyline I've ever played in an FPS.
Love hearing Adams reviews, brings back the old xplay memories
I really loved his review. Not because of the score he gave, but how eloquently he explained each of the game's facets and why he thinks of them the day he does.
Keep it up man. You got yourself a faithful subscriber.
Oooh. On another note I'm glad Adam is reviewing again! (:
So great to see Adam back to what he does best. Keep up the awesome reviews!
Watching Adam brings me back to Tech TV.. RIP tech tv :(
Haven't read any text reviews yet but what about graphic differences between pc and console? And are there any plans for the game to come out on steam?
Really glad you're doing this online been missing you ever since directv stopped playing g4
Great to see you back in action Adam! !
How long is the single-player campaign ? Looking for a nice game to play this weekend.
Bow ammo is limited as far as the special ammo goes. You can pick up pretty much all the regular arrows.
It's so nice to see Adam actualy reviewing games again and not having 20 minutes of commercials in between them.
I'm glad the sessler reviewed this. Always take advice from him... Even since back then! Keep em coming Adam !!
Just curious was the review footage from a PC or a console. If it was a from a PC how does it look on consoles.
Even though I only played the Beta, I had a lot of fun with Crash Site for the shield throwing alone. Only the bow can possibly match how satisfying it is to bash someone's head in in a millisecond.
didnt know what happened to you after g4.. good to be watching you again
Hey Adam,
Do you think its right that Microsoft requires a payment in order to enjoy Xbox online services? Do you think the Xbox 720 will also require a payment for online services?
Awesome review Sess, thanks for doing the reddit AMA, I don't think I would have found your new channel if you hadn't answered a bunch of random questions. :)
I like that your reviews are honest

This is a much better forum for extended thoughtful reviews than G4 ever provided. Keep up the great work!!!
Hey Adam, any plans to go to PAX East?
Nice review (as always)! Love you Rev3 :)
Crash Site is very popular. It may not be sophisticated in anyway but the fun factor and the sheer amount of people playing make it a great mode.
I highly doubt it, but you could be right. I only doubt the use of the controller because FPS games are much more suited to be played with a keyboard and mouse set-up, and if you have a keyboard and mouse at your disposal (which every PC does), why on earth would you choose to use a controller? hi , im from europe , if i buy the game on PSN will i be able to play now or just on the 22nd ?
Love that there's some actual praise here for the amazing art direction. Too many reviews have stated that "Crytek are renowned for their rig-melting graphics" as if that somehow means we should stop praising them for this amazing technological feat
Hey Adam, I like your reviews, and I appreciate all the games you're choosing to review. Keep doing you.
How long is the Single Player Campaign?
Another great review Adam! I hope you're the one who's going to review Ascension :D
Is it true that you need to have DX 11 on your GPU? i got DX10 will it run C3?
I wish i could describe the warm and fuzzy feeling of watching new reviews by the sess man... SUBSCRIBE! :)
hey adam: just curious. how do you feel about musician jack white's anti-videogame statements today?
Question for Adam: Do you allow your expectations and the general hype surrounding a game prior to launch effect how you rate a game? How are you playing it before its out?
is there a way to change the cross hair?
Should I get crisis 3 call of duty modern warfare saga pack or bioshock infinite
except that Sesslers complaint was the inability to find enemies or exits, which is kinda fixed by thermal vision. Though i do agree with you, that would be my only complaint from the Batman games.
What platform you on?
I haven't watched an Adam Sessler review before this, but I watched X-Play when I was young. When he said "3... out of 5" like he did back then I had a pretty strong nostalgic moment..

There was definitely a few levels in Crysis 3 that I keep replaying for the awesome feel and gameplay too. Like the Hydro Dam level and the level right after that.
I agree with the night missions being too dark, but there are 2 REALLY simple solutions. 1. Full screen brightness 2. Nanovision.
Love Adam is back to reviewing, I missed it for a while.
And he is a little more critical now and mentions downside I appreciate that from a reviewer.
is there a fairly large amount of ppl playing the multiplayer?
He "mentioned" it in the beginning when he noted how well the developer did in bringing the series to consoles from PC.
To be honest, I only watch your game reviews. In fact you're the only reason I subscribed to this channel.
I like the fact Sessler's reviews are not that high. That way when something does get a 5/5 I know it is a must buy!
One of my all time favorite's is Knights of the Old Republic, 2004. And Podracer is nice too, from like 2000.
correct me if I'm wrong there is still tomb raider, God of War (which the multiplayer may push it over the top as a must have game) south park (which despite delay rumors is sticking to that march 5th date
Nice to know I can still find good reviews.
Anyone know what happened to Morgan Webb?
To people who know about Crysis more than i do (most people). Ive played and completed Crysis 1 and 2 but i don't get how Prophet (New Prophet) remembers who Psycho is considering he was in Crysis 1 and old prophet didn't tell new prophet about him
Thank god adams reviewing games again. X play was my num one place for reviews and hes my favorite reviewer. X plays gone but sessler still stands.
Adam! I wondered where you went after X-play! :D
Great review Adam. Top notch like always. Can't wait for the 5 out of 5 for this year.
Ps: Can you review SimCity when it comes out. It's a reboot of the series and would like you opinion about it prior to plopping down my hard earns clams.
I really like Adam's reviews, he's one of the smartest reviewers I've seen on TH-cam
he did but Alcatraz kinda becomes Prophet in the end. And the suit keep prophet in there even though he died
Are you talking about the console multiplayer? The skill ceiling on the PC version is so low but the multiplayer is still fun.
Compare this review to the Gametrailers one. The GT review was pretty much a commercial for the game. It got a good score and was pretty much described as the perfect game. I really have to give Adam props for telling like it is.
Another great reviewer! subscribed.
Great job, very thorough and insightful.

Is is me or is there NO mention of which platform this game is for???
@keragamming you need a HD tv and TH-cam video doesn't have very high quality video ,that why you see no different
What do you mean no story ?
The story is well telled do u just shoot and go like u would do in COD or do u pay attention at all ?
Adam won't bullshit you with his reviews and that's a good thing.
It's kind of funny to hear him say that at the end because when I started watching it I was already thinking 'He hasn't really loved a game yet', not that it's fault though. It's right in line with other reviews I've read of Crysis 3. It sure is beautiful though on PC.
I always love how he gives the score... I don't know what it is about it, but I love it.
Does it have split screen online multiplaye

probably can in the raw settings if not in game

No comment about the broken stealth? If I'm in high grass and behind a bush, I shouldn't be able to be spotted by enemies when I run out of energy.
While I agree, I don't see why Bayonetta 2 is relevant, it's made by Platinum, but the Timesplitters games were made by the same team as the Crysis games, they just used to have a different name.
ive been watching your reviews since back when you did gamespot TV on zdtv.
Adam Sessler is the greatest reviewer EVER. I'm sorry, you cannot disagree. You just can't.
"Stealthy, nasty, one shot and your dead bows. I kinda like'em. Not enough to see The Hunger Games. But I get it now."hahahahaha
But I want Crysis 3 so much! The art style is so legit.
6:27, hoping that moment is on Monday's Bioshock Infinite review!
Review every game, Sessler. Your opinion's the only opinion I care about
Cheers to the man who kept X-play at its greatest, I had a feeling that Crysis 3 was just an expansion pack rather than an actual new game.
I like this review mainly for the points Adam mentioned, and yes, I'm still gonna buy it for the sake of the visual and also, to understand more about what Adam like and dislike about the game.........hey, it is after all a personal review. Maybe I can come out with one too~

I was waiting for this review!
Adam knows how to dissect the games and won't hesitate to put it down. That's rare!
