I love this what a beautiful life to live and work and see nature’s beauty all of it together is breathtaking! The length of some of these freight trains is unbelievable! Thank you for the ride!
I do too Jessica! In fact, we are headed out this weekend (1/15) for Montana to get more video just like this. If you haven't done so already check out more of my Winter Train videos. Thanks for watching! 😊
Hi DIRTY DAVE. The pictures 📷photography scenes are absolutely awesomeness stunning u must have been very cold 🥶out there ruddy credit to your profession. The shots are out of this world 🌎. Completely BLown away MAN. WOW.
High Kevin, amazing pictures in an amazing nature.Deeply winter and the trains are running in the US.In the 70ties the German railway has a advertiesment that says:"The train comes everytime, by every weather." But this was only advertiesment.Your trains are running by really ugly weather, respect.Greatings from Germany.
For the most part the weather doesn't effect trains. snow is not that much of a problem. The biggest problem comes with heavy rain that brings mudslides. That happens often around the Seattle area. Thanks for watching Uwe. 😊
Great inspiration for a great HO layout, a really great layout includes steam engines as well as modern equipment as well. Time passages and great painted skylines for background mountains snow and big pines more snow a few buildings, depot’s ,lodges snow plows signal posts great electrical work and dimmer switch to darkening the room for night scenes. And and the Cascades range and the tunnel for extra effects . That’s the Empire Builder! You will need a big house and the whole upstairs alone .
Great video of BNSF freights & Amtrak’s Empire Builder which is one of Amtrak’s trains I want to ride on. My favorite pre merger railroads before the 1970 Burlington Northern merger were the Great Northern because of its logo of the mountain goat on top of a mountain peak, the Santa Fe, Rio Grande, Erie Lackawanna, Lehigh Valley where 7 members of my family worked for it from 1868 to 1976 & the Delaware & Hudson. Burlington Northern & Santa Fe were my most favorite railroad which BNSF is my most favorite railroad.
Thanks for watching Christopher. My favorite railroad as a young boy was the Great Northern and of course then the Burlington Northern. Now, here in the Pacific Northwest I'm surrounded by the BNSF. 😊
There went some brand new automobiles going to brand new homes for Christmas thanks to all the hard-working people on this planet that keep us Americans and everyone else rolling down the road and the trains for delivering all them beautiful automobiles
Watching this from tropical Singapore. Awesome shots as I had never seen winter trains and extremely long freight trains. Singapore is now experiencing its coldest period 21 C as on 2 Jan 2021. Singapore is having its wet monsoon season that may last till February. Happy new year to all. Greetings from Singapore 😁
@@GreatNorthernTech :) you are most welcome :) how many day did u take to film these footages . with freezing temp ..i doubt i can survive in that cold hehehe
Thanks for watching Sobroto. I appreciate the kind words. There isn't a video of the complete route that I am aware of but you might try a Google search. 😊
Really great shots. I really got cold when I was watching and thought, you were standing out in that cold cold weather. You have done a fantastic job. Great video.

I Subed because your great at this stuff. I love trains and i go to that train station at 40:00 mins for Railfaning. Keep up the good work. And Happy Christmas And A Happy New Year to you and all of your family
Just now finding this. But I love seeing all of these trains in the snow. Being from Michigan it’s not uncommon to see trains in snow. But in BNSF colors it is.
Good Question. The simple answer is that the destination city has facilities to turn the locomotives around (be it a turntable, a wye track or a balloon track). Thanks for watching! 😊
What’s the difference between a winter train and a summer train? Or spring, or fall train? I guess a fall train is when it falls off the tracks, a spring train is when it hops over joints!! lol.
@@GreatNorthernTech you're welcome! I have always loved trains. About six years agowe moved to a different part of town about three blocks from CSX tracks. I love hearing the whistle during the day the passing trains and the rumbling of the engines at night. Most trains don't blow their whistles at night due to noise ordinances. (unfortunately!) I find train whistles so soothing!!!❤️
In the US we are dealing with steep grades and in the case of when the video was taken very cold below zero F° temperatures. Mountain routes always require more locomotives. Most freight trains are well over a mile long and are pulling 2% grades, in this case Marias Pass. Trains here in the US are much longer and heavier than in Europe. Hope this helps answer your question. Please feel free to ask more and thanks for watching. 😊
work out job to do add horse power plus terrain and acceleration from so many stops also grades and of course ofton needed stopping power go work there and you will know aslo twice the speed it wants 8 times the power work that one out and you ask why so many.
are you crazy being out in the kind of weather was you trying to extremely sick or what i mean damn i love trains to but theres no way that i will endanger my health to film
Видать кому то камеру подарили и он решил снимать поезда проходящие. Это хорошо конечно всё начинается с малого. Может пройдет много лет и этот оператор будет известный в мире который расскажет как у него всё начиналось держа в руках Оскара за документальное кино.
Try MILLIONS of pounds... Just the locomotive weighs 135 Tons. Each car, 30 to 80 TONS.. 1 wheelset (2 wheels and the axle) of a freight car weighs more than 2-thousand pounds. That is a TON per wheel.

Can someone help me, how do you know when/ where to get on and off a train 🚂 I’m only 14 so i don’t know
You get off at your stop when the doors open, or you might have to open them yourself ??

no need to be so rude either might be part of your pub talk no need for us to read it as he says
looks nice

Why 3 locomotive for 8 passenger wagon. The US train always use 4,5,6 locomotive why. In EU we use max 2??

If I'm not mistaken, more locomotives also gives the train more effective braking, nice to have in the mountains!
Tim Gerard not true.
yes stopping more important than accelaration
do go and find out total load weight grades in usa a toys in Europe you see why. go back to school and learn
Why to put 3 engines at a 8 passenger + 1 baggage car train consist?
Quite mountainous territory through western Montana, Idaho plus the Cascade mountains in Washington. 😊
