    I just completed this. Thanks again for the video - it's the best one out there for this. For anyone looking for the replacement bulb size (for the larger ones), it's 194. I bought a 2 pack of these at my local auto parts store for $5.

    I must mention that I was able to exchange the bulbs in the white holders. You just need to move the tip left and right a bit and it goes off easily. My cockpit is visible at night again, thanks! 🙂

    great vid, used it to replace bulbs in my 2000 Corolla E11 1,4 lift(97bhp) with Neolux N286 12v 1,2W W2x4,6d bulbs, fit perfectly and cost 2$ for pack of 10

    Thanks for the video Peter, you rock! I saw that you recommend the original light bulbs for this but can you tell me if the standard 194 series bulbs will fit in? Just because I'm thinking of replacing all of the bulbs to LED and frame of the 194s doesn't really looks like the original plastic frame (the white plastic on the bulb in your video). One of them needs replacing but I don't think its a good idea to replace only one of the bulbs.

      endruboy111 Ok and well. I recommend always the original parts, because they last long, long time. Especially in Toyota.

    Hi,I have a similar dash,but mine is a 1998,and the dash is longer with the round ac on/off in between the other knobs.The one on the far right being where you want air directed and the hot to cold at the end - on far left,then second to left is the fan speed.All the lights are now out,but the round ac which has a green light that goes on when you depress it.Is it the same procedure for mine,and is it ALWAYS bulbs ? Blown fuses don't cause this symptom ?

    Hi, my dash won't light up anymore and I noticed it yesterday. Before I go and buy bulbs to replace them with, is there another possibility as to why they might be out I should check first, like a fuse maybe? everything else works as it should and since it's only the dashlighting that's not working I'm assuming it's just the bulbs all burnt out at once. But I would like your opinion

    Nice, how many bulbs are in there? If radio light is working are they fused on the same circuit? If none of the cluster lights are working where else should I look before taking it apart if the radio and clock are working? I like this video showing how to get it apart, Thanks so much.

    Hey peter, I have a problem with my 2001 corolla's instrument cluster....
    When i turn the left turn signal on, the rear mirror defroster light starts to blink instrad of the left turn signal light and when i switch on the rear mirror defroster, no lights turn on in the instrument cluster. I have checked all the bulbs in the instrument cluster, they work fine... I can't understand what the problem is, can u help me with this ?

    • @PeterFinnTheCarDoctor
      @PeterFinnTheCarDoctor  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, your issue sounds like to be electric cables and wires issue. This means that some of your electric cables are loosen or broken. You should check all cables what are connect to turn signal and rear mirror defroster light. This job take time, so be patient. :-)

    TEMPTING TO CHANGE TO led when taking apart. However, some find that the LED is so low wattage (maybe different voltage ) that the LED will not turn off. Has anyone easily changed incandescent dash lights to LED. Tail lights are easy because this issue is already solved with the after-market voltage being the same.

    Any idea on how to replace it on a 2010 Toyota Corolla?

  • @endruboy111
    @endruboy111 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had another cable in the back of the dashboard and it was so short, I couldn't pull out the dash only a little bit. So I had to squeze my hand and switch it in a very small place. Also the bulb CAN be taken apart so you have to purchase a standard dashboard light an that will fit in.

    • @PeterFinnTheCarDoctor
      @PeterFinnTheCarDoctor  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +endruboy111 Yes, there is small amount of space. Thank You for your comment. :-)

    • @endruboy111
      @endruboy111 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but I couldn't pull out the dash like you did because not only one cable was attached to it, but there was a second one in the middle which was so short I couldn't pull out the dash in my direction (only for about 5-10 cm). And also I tried but I couldn't detach that cable... maybe there is a special method for detaching it that i'm not aware of.

      Mukul Bhatt Hello. Number code is 90981-11018. This is the special Toyota bulb. Price is about 2 US$ per piece. Please visit the nearest Toyota original dealership center. You will get the new bulb within one or do day.

      Mukul Bhatt Are you sure it will work? Cause the 194s frame doesn't look like the originals at all... Did you change it yourself or they did it for you and maybe applyed some hack to suit them in?

    • @mukulbhatt1204
      @mukulbhatt1204 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      endruboy111 , changed it myself. It worked flawlessly and was very simple, no hacks needed. One awesome tip I just learned from a friend is about the color. Instead of buying colored caps (my bulb had a green plastic wrap to give a green hue to the dash) you can save a few dollars and use a sharpie to color the bulb. I didny try this but my friend said it works decently.

      Check the electrical wiring. A fuse that is too big can burn the wires
