Great video! On my 05 Camry I noticed that the cluster isn't bright like it was before. It stays dim as if I had the headlights on. I also have the dimmer switch on it's highest. Any idea what's wrong?
+nbd959 Yes u have a video on that, see the link in the video, or search my Camry to Lexus cluster swap video. At least on that you could swap eeprom chips without reprogramming, in this case the chips were different sizes so I had to decipher the HEX.
Can you help me with the diagrams and configuration for this project that you did, please, I am doing exactly the same thing and I ask you if you can help me. I tried to download them from TH-cam but it no longer exists. Thank you very much for the help.
From my own experience in fiddling with cluster replacement the mileage change to whatever miles is in the replacement clusters chip. You have to send to a cluster company a signed affidavit of your original miles or send your factory cluster to be calibrated/clone to your replacement cluster.Remember its illegal to go back on your current original miles you only can match them or go higher.
I tried to get a 2019 Corolla instrument cluster to fit into my 2009 Corolla and it not a good fit. The 2020 Corolla instrument cluster doesn’t look like it would fit into a 2009 Corolla. Quick question I have the 2002 gauge cluster style the one you showed originally can you use led bulbs in that cluster I took it out but didn’t see anything ?! Please help
Well, thanks I have another question, my instrument cluster was dead so I had to unplug and replug the main pins to make it works every time. So I don't want to replug it, it is a way to put a switch on it to make it works. Thanks in advanced
@speedkar99 Hey, so I have a question I wonder if you can help me with; I am in the process of swapping a Gen 5.5 Camry cluster to my Gen 5, and right now, I'm facing issues with the ABS light turning on since my car didn't came with ABS, and parking brake light staying on no matter if I disengage my parking brake or not. I'm pretty much scratching my head now because I don't know what else to do, what do you think? 😅
Hmm that's interesting because I think the 5.5 all had ABS... So if there's no signal it's going to trigger the brake and abs lights to come on Could you trace the wires that go to the parking brake and abs module and perhaps ground them? Worse case is out a tape over the LED then close up the cluster
@@speedkar99 Hey! So I looked over the diagram, it appears that they're not separate wires, they sort of run on the same circuitry. I also notice that while the Gen 5 cluster has a separate wire for the parking brake switch, the Gen 5.5 doesn't have that. As for taping up the LED, that's what I've done for now, although I'd love to have the parking brake light haha.
Do you have a pinout diagram for Camry 2007/2008? I am trying to power it on to best functionality without the need to install/uninstall in the vehicle? Thanks

+F&K Vlog's I'm not sure on Chrysler products if the mileage was stored in the body control module or the cluster itself. Check the Jeep forums, I'm sure someone has swapped clusters already

hey man i really appreciate your videos. i just need your opinion on somwthing tho. im planning on painting my dashboard. ive seen you spray paint on other interior trim pieces in past videos but never on the dashboard. Is there a reason for it? do you think it would be okay to paint my dash? or will the heat make the paint chip eventually?
You can swap the non tach cluster for the cluster /w tach in a Corolla, easy peasy if you find one from the same year, if not they have to be repinned. I found the white face touring package cluster at the junkyard for $20 and the temp sensor for the outside temp display for $2.50
+Rybagz I know eh! They did this on the previous generation too between the Camry and ES300. Those 4 cylinder Camry guys didn't have working tachos because the ES300 only came with v6.

Update - I was able to reprogram the mileage from the 93C56 chip on the Gen 5.5 model using a CH341A USB programmer for $10. You only need to wire 6 pins of the 8 on the chip to the usb programmer and it has the clip on one end so you don’t have to solder at all and can connect to the EEPROM chip on the board. Still looking for the wiring diagram to complete this swap! 😅
I have never understood the look of the clusters for the Camry from 02-04. To me it just looked very out of place for that car. The 05-06 Camry cluster was much better and looked more like it belonged to the car and it was much easier to read, especially at night.

It should be a law that instrument clusters do the guage sweep at startup. That shit is awesome.
+John that would be cool! I believe in some clusters part of the diagnostics is the weep to make sure the needles are working properly.

Can the xle mpg readout be swapped to a le? The one that goes on top of the radio where the clock and temp is

I wonder if it would be the same for my mazda 2. The 2010 model has a white background and the 2012 one has a black one, i want the black one
