I think you did a great job creating this here video. Not only that you gave a thorough walk through on building one of these but you built it in the cheapest way possible. Great work!
Thank you for making this informative video! This tutorial creating a demo board formulates a substantial concept to encourage people getting into the hobby (or even parents) how to build something so basic, they shouldn’t have to buy something that’s been pre-built and save some extra money building something in their own hands. Looking back at my MS-2 demo board I own (bigger demo board lol), I’m very positive creating a system like that is also very inexpensive to build ($400-$700 if a panel or the board w/power supply is included)
This really helped. What I did is I did what you did and then I put two pieces of wood on the side and one on the bottom to help it stand up.and plugged it in and it worked the fire alarms I used for a 2099-9754 t bar.and a Wheelock exceeder low frequency sounder tysm 🎉
I’m not into fire alarms as much as I once was anymore, but I remember back when I was like 12 I made a board with a BG-12, a Commander 2, and basic supplies I had at home with nothing but a simple TH-cam tutorial. It’s insane what kids are charging for these.
This was an informative video, and you've given me inspiration to possibly build a board of my own...at some point. I definitely have some of this stuff laying around...and the tools. The red painted 4x4 box looks really good!
So you don't have to code it or hook it to that fancy box or nothing? Im confused on that part. I want the alarm to be spaced out (I think it's called code 3 but I don't really remember) and not a constant buzz. Im new to fire alarms so I don't exactly know the terminology, sorry in advance hope the way i worded the question makes sense lol
I wonder what that little plastic thing you used for the pullstation wiring is called and some of the specifics on putting the wires in, I do notice how the wire goes in, but it's kinda hard to tell which ones are being connected together. I've always wondered how people provided power for the pull station in that kind of testing setup

Couple questions Are the handy boxes sizes standard? I think I have a wall adapter charger for other equipment, does it matter if it's 12V vs. 24?
Handy boxes come in different sizes. For pull stations, look for the single gang one shown in the video and for alarm devices look for a 4x4 square box. The voltage depends on the alarm, 12 volts will usually be fine for Joey devices

THATS SER SAFTEY SELLING FOR 500
The seller of those boards uses the excuse of "I'm too busy" is really ridiculous.
For real, labor of this is not worth 300 bucks. they make like 80% of the money they are sold for
I see *this way* useful for beginner collectors.
