The 1st arriving Engine Co. needs to report on the scene with smoke showing on a large home improvement building and investigate. You don't comit to an interior fire attack. Good video. I would love to help you guys out with training of buildings with fire sprinkler systems. There is quite a bit more information that I think everyone would benefit from hearing.
Also everyone in the fire service should be extremely familiar with NFPA 13E. You guys were getting there…talking about not shutting sprinklers off during a fire. I’m 13E it specifically says “shall not turn off sprinklers in storage fires”.
Also, NFPA 1620. A lot of guessing going on here. “There might be standpipes in there”… That is not a good statement. You should have a pre plan in place. NFPA 1620

The Walmart distribution center fire you just mentioned is a great example of why you don’t turn the sprinklers off.
They did.
