Thanks reresa Joy. This would have been an excellent solution for resizing, however I tried to follow your instructions. Select and open image in Adobe Acrobat Reader. Select File then Print, then select POSTER, only Poster is greyed out, so inaccessible. I spent ages onto Adobe and Apple to no avail. I have Mac Sonama 14.4 acrobat Reader version 24.002.20893. Apparently it's a known problem that loads of people are complaining, Teachers included. Just thought you'd like to know. I'm looking for an alternative solution. Hope this helps.

Yes, I've heard about this issue for some people. I hope that Adobe are able to resolve the issue as it's a super bit of free software when it works.

Regrettably not so far. Let us know if you find another free process please.

Hi Teresa, I was really excited to see this tutorial on TH-cam, however, I don’t seem to be able to get the same printer dialogue box as you have in Adobe :-(

If you are not in the UK your labels may be a little different. There should still be an option to set your paper size and then adjust the print size but it might have a different name. 😊

@@TERESAJOYFINEART no, I’m in the UK and I’ve tried it on my iPad, my phone, and a laptop, and just can’t seem to get the same dialog box as you. Maybe it’s a script or something. Anyway, I have found a slightly convoluted way around adjusting my outline size but it’s a bit hit and miss lol

@@sarahstevenson2384Glad you’ve managed to find a way around it. Do you have the most up to date version of the software? That might be another reason. 😊

@@TERESAJOYFINEART yes, I checked that too. Thanks Teresa

I've searched the internet to see if I can find out why you have a different layout. There seems to be some discussion about why some people see a different layout but this seems to be the difference between the free and paid for version or whether you have the up to date free version or not as the viewing layout seems to have been changed recently. I'm not sure but it seems like you have found a way to adjust your paper size anyway so it sounds like you have resolved the issue yourself. Once you have set your paper size once I wouldn't think that you would need to keep changing it unless you change your printer. Sorry I can't be any more help. You may find more help on the internet if you want to look into it further. :)

What's the best and easiest way to create a line drawing from a reference photo that's on my computer.I don't want to print the photo out as my printer isn't very good at printing quality photos.
    Thanks

You don’t need to print a good quality photograph to use as a line drawing. You can print a poor quality photo or turn it into a line drawing on your computer first so you’re only printing a black and white outline. Alternatively you can get projectors that will transfer the image from your computer or phone onto your art paper. 😊

What about in the USA, are 11x14? I’d have to tape them all together? THEN, how to transfer it onto the paper I’ll use for the final drawing?

You should be able to adjust your paper size in the software to match the size you use for your printer. Yes, you would need to tape the sheets of paper together if you want a large outline. The easiest way to transfer your line drawing is to add graphite pencil to the back of the line drawing and trace over the lines. 😊

I know lots of artists transferring their model, but I am not suggesting that I think it is cheating and an artist most able to draw sketch

This process will be useful for those who use freehand their own sketch too as sometimes you might want to increase of decrease the size of a scanned freehand sketch to make it larger on your art paper. :)
