    I ordered mine with a dome roof, going to use hardware cloth and a bigger tarp, I cant wait! Thanks for the great video! I appreciate the tip about leaving the roll on the ground and pulling the end over. I havent seen anyone else do it that way

    You seem to be doing so much better financially than when you started out. I am so happy to see this for you and your family. You never gave up and determined to overcome obstacles. The way you used your intelligence to make the impossible work is an inspiration. I wish the best for you and your family Troy. Always.

    Did you flip the door after installing the locking bolt because it was behind the Vevor logo at first but later when installed it was on the other side.
    update: I just realized the manufacturer put the hole on the wrong side so now the upper door for us is useless

    That's a nice size area for them. You made it look easy to put together.

    Thanks so much for this. I am setting this up with my dad and also reviewing this. Do you suggest I lay the chicken wire longitudinal ( not facing door) vs lateral (facing door)?

    • @TheDoItYourselfWorld
      @TheDoItYourselfWorld  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have a look at the width of the wire and see how it fits better. I should have run mine opposite of how I did. But it worked anyway.

    your videos are like mine, lucky to see 500 views, a few years ago 5000 views in a day was the norm! wth has youtube done to us??? watched your vids a long time and know you are seeing it too. great job on this btw!

      Thanks. I am playing around with numbers and checking analytics daily. On this channel with 141,000 subs and about 300 new subs added every month, my views are tanking. Even older videos that were a hit long ago. Some people blame me and say its my content. It sucks now. But the old stuff that was a hit, those are down now too. My entire channel is tanking.
      Meanwhile Country Wood Products has 250 subs and gets 600 views per video - NOT monetized. See the key here.
      Monetized main channel 141k subs - 600 views a video
      Unmonetized channel 250 subs - 600 views a video.
      Same me. Same "sucky" content. But something is being manipulated and its out of my hands.

    • @TheDoItYourselfWorld
      @TheDoItYourselfWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Now think.... 300 new subs added every month. 300 more people want to see my videos every month. Yet my views are slipping.

    • @TheDoItYourselfWorld
      @TheDoItYourselfWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Have a look at why I think this is so. Go to your "Content". If you are monetized, there might be a new button on your menu. "Promotions". YT now wants US to pay THEM for views!!! Sickening!!!!!

    • @TheDoItYourselfWorld
      @TheDoItYourselfWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have been told by some people, viewers, that they have seen my views on a video they watch again actually go down from one day to another. So something is being manipulated. Something is wrong here. Numbers do not mesh up.

    • @TheDoItYourselfWorld
      @TheDoItYourselfWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I still have my site. My Mega Bits . com
      I may give one final push to get that going. It was DIY Tube but rebranded without crypto. It is a combination of patreon and YT. All in one. People can sub your channel, pay per video, pay per month, or even tip you.
      But I have no money to keep it going till it grows. Hmmm. Not sure what to do.

    You should consider putting a tarp along the south side during summer to block the sun so they have more shade.

    I can see a good gust of wind taking that chicken tractor without wheels for a ride up and over the fence! A chicken coop it is not more like a chicken run / tractor a coop is a building

      I have cement filled buckets chained to it now. I think I said in the video that I have plans for different anchors.

    Nice coop, but what about side protection? I’m thinking maybe a few tarps on 3 sides might not be a bad idea…

      The birds need some sun. It dries the ground and they love to dig into the dirt and lay in the sun.

    That is the chicken coop of my dreams.

  • @KimberlyGingrich

    Unfortunately they are sending out wire now that tears when you pick it up. Its absolutely terrible! It is nothing like what you are using. I picked up the double Poultry House, and although it is very easy to assemble. The cover wont keep a cat out let alone a raccoon. I am having to order hardware cloth to cover mine.

    • @TheDoItYourselfWorld
      @TheDoItYourselfWorld  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, thats terrible. Mine already survived an attack at night from some animal. Tore apart some of the zip ties but the wire mesh held. I replaced the zip ties with baling wire and put up some heavier welded wire fence on the bottom half of the coop.

    Call me narrow minded if u would. But the roof of chicken coup if strong enough would be a potential nice place for solar panals 😅😊😊😁

    • @TheDoItYourselfWorld
      @TheDoItYourselfWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting idea. I will reinforce this before winter anyway. Then solar panels are an option.

    If you want it to last get rid of the chicken wire and replace it with Hardware Cloth!!!!!!!

    • @TheDoItYourselfWorld
      @TheDoItYourselfWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have chicken wire that is 20 years old. If you keep it dry, it should last. If it wears out, then we will replace it.

    • @mikesmicroshop4385
      @mikesmicroshop4385 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheDoItYourselfWorld Interesting since I have never had any last more than a year! It is also no good to prevent determined preditors from getting to the chickens I can attest to that as I have lost close to 30 bird in one night.

    • @TheDoItYourselfWorld
      @TheDoItYourselfWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow! I never had anything tear through chicken wire. Although I lost a whole batch of chicks one time cause a possum reached through and tore them up bit by bit. And we do keep the birds inside a wooden coop at night so that eliminates night time predators there.
      We have chicken wire we bought second hand a few years ago. We use it as needed to keep chickens out of the gardens and flower beds.

    • @mikesmicroshop4385
      @mikesmicroshop4385 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheDoItYourselfWorld We had what looked like a dog on our security cam rip through like it was basically nothing. we were not at home at the time so we found the mess when we got back. We had one chicken left she got out of the coup and hid in the barn under some hay bails. After a year or two chicken wire if it is even a little rusty is so fragile you cane brake it bare-handed easily. My kid grabbed some to bend over and pick something up and it tore a hole in the wire.
      So I replaced all of the chicken wire with half-inch hardware cloth. It is galvanized and much more heavy duty. So far after 10 years it is still just as solid as the day I installed it. It is also so structurally ridged that it makes the Coup structure much more sterdy structurally.
      It is definitely more expensive than chicken wire, but I haven't lost a single bird since from a preditor.

    • @TheDoItYourselfWorld
      @TheDoItYourselfWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hardware cloth is always going to be better for sure. I did use hardware cloth as screens in the chicken coop windows to stop anything from tearing through.
