I’m 70 years young and I absolutely LOVE this guitar. The offset brings the neck closer to you while the short scale simultaneously shortens both the reach and hand stretch. The electronics offer everything from Tele sounds on the bridge pickup with the “strangle” switch on to a smooth Jazzmaster tone utilizing the rhythm circuit. I found the only restrictions aren’t in the Jaguar but in the amp and “fingers”. I jokingly refer to this guitar as “ The Senior Special “.😊
Just refinished mine in nitro white and installed a Descendant bridge and vibrato, fender tuners, fender Avri 65 jaguar pickups and 920d custom wiring harness. It came out so great that I ordered another one last night
I saw one at my local shop for 275 and played it for awhile. I enjoyed the rhythm circuit a lot but found it a little tiring to play. Super fun and stayed in tune well.... but a little tiring I might go back tomorrow because that price is real nice😊 Thanks
Excellent excellent video on a classic guitar. Thank you so very much for sharing your excellent excellent information on this beautiful Daphne Blue classic vibe Jaguar.
Hi Robert, from the UK. Really like your videos and friendly presentation. Subscribed. I bought the exact same guitar in surf green last year and i love it. I had to shim the neck slightly ( used a plectrum and it worked just fine), and used the electrical tape on the bridge posts and restrung with 10's. It plays and sounds wonderful and is all the Jaguar i will ever need. It's one of the cheapest guitars i own, but one of my favourites to play. Funny how that works out sometimes with guitars. Your's looks great with white pick guard. Hope you're doing well after surgery. Keep up the good work. 🙂
Thanks for your note. Those are the fundamental mods for sure. I'm glad it is working for you. My hands are coming back well so I'm not playing the Jag as much, but it is really cool nonetheless.
I got me a Squier 60s Jaguar recently and after a proper setup including a neck shim I am pretty stoked. I think Jaguars are maybe the most underrated and misunderstood guitars.
@@mikefromusa6902 No alterations to the Pickguard at all, it squeezed together OK. The spacing on the Trembucker pickup is fine with the guitar, I did not do any exact measuring or comparing.
i have a 1970 jaguar being install with custom hoagland pre wire switches and 1965 hot pick ups , how can u tell if u need a 7.5 or 9.5 degree neck and bridge ? this is my last build thanks john
My first fender in 1967 was a 67 jaguar candy apple red one. I didn't like it. sold it eventually. bought a 73 lp black beauty instead I still have it...

Thanks for your comment, it is a really great guitar and I love that it has the original crazy switching.

Nice. You did the Nitro yourself?
@@robertsguitarsandgear yep! Has a bunch of checking on it because I did it in my cold garage but I like the way it came out.

For sure, mine is great.
Nice review. Is that a white or parchment pickguard?
Thanks, it is a white one I found on eBay.
@@robertsguitarsandgear did you have to do any alterations to the pickguard? Is it US spaced?

@@robertsguitarsandgear you got a link for it?
@@mikefromusa6902 I'm sorry its not on there anymore.

I would say it comes down to the set-up. Can you get the action height you want and have the strings stay put on the bridge?
Did you have to shim the neck on your jaguar?
Not at all, the break angle is fine. Maybe they fixed their process!
