Legend doesn't begin to describe this man. His 'To The Batmobile... Let's Go!' was one of the iconic albums that got me into house music, along with Royal Party's 'Can You Feel It?' which of course, he produced. If there were a royal family of house music pioneers, Todd would definitely be in it.

I seen Tod Terry in 1999 in Toronto
I used to be obsessed with Todd - Nicky Blackmarket was playing 'Jumpin'' in his record shop in Soho one Friday night back in the day - like chest thumping load - bought it immediately. Went home and played it over and over again. From then on I bought every release - must have 30 x 12" at least. Then he came to UK - Leeds - traveled up from London - got to touch the hand of Todd - what a night. He's dropped it now - but he used to loop his own samples, recordings of recordings on vinyl - recognizable samples - 'dance to the beat bounce' - ' I like it' etc etc. - Melissa's Dream has almost all of them. Anyway - I'm 62 now and I still love the guy - woefully underrated in the story of house - he fucking invented it - 'oh, I like it'. Thanks Todd for everything - especially the work you did with Martha Wash - another underrated artist. xx
