Ours is doing the same thing. We called uconnect and they tried to do a soft restart. It didn't work. Then told us to take it in and have them do a hard restart. They charge $120 to do that.
I left top down on my Jeep. My radio and buttons work. But the "touch" on the touch screen doesn't work. Should I just buy another touch screen itself. I here this is common. And they get a new radio. This radio works good. But, the touch part.

I Had To Disconnect The Battery in order for my radio to turn off,i fix my problem with erasing or deleting all my song data on the radio hard drive,it work ok after,i guess one MP3 Song i download had some bug or corrrupt data freezing my radio,again once i delete all my songs the problem never return again.

What are the orange or green cars in the corner of the screen for?
orange or red when no signal for traffic and green when XM radio is subscribed to. You had to subscribe back then to get live traffic info

The entire radio(head unit) had to be replaced. The problem occurred during an update to the radio software via USB stick. I hope this helps you
