    I love watching your videos. You seem so much happier now that you have moved, and your rabbits are doing well, and now you have baby goats. The buckling is to die for. I love his coloring. I can't wait to watch Ringos babies grow. I also want to add that I love watching Blue Cactus dairy goats and Weed em and Reap. They are very goat knowledgable, and Donelle from Weed em and Reap also created a class to take all about raising goats.

    That blue eyed buckling is so stinking cute! Would absolutely try to snag him if I wasn’t so far away 😅

    So love your content! Would love to know how you skin an older rabbit. If I don’t do them by 12/13 weeks, it’s really difficult to separate even with great knives.
    I bought the plans for the grow out hutch today!! Love the design.

    Interesting note,
    We had goats when i was younger, and they would also cry/scream at us every time they saw us. We were told it was because goats live in a heard, and they see you not in the "heard" and they think you are in danger and are trying to get you to come back. 😂

    If you need to post a video and don’t feel like putting in a lot of effort I could definitely watch 10-15 minutes of just baby goats jumping around and acting crazy 😁

    Haha, the joys of being a goat/sheep midwife! I had a difficult lambing once - normal presentation, all legs in place but no head, and a first-time mother. I tell you, when trying to unblock the head I had to stick my arm so deep that I could move the ewe's ears. ;) But fortunately everyone involved survived the ordeal.

      @@TealStoneHomestead With a little wiggling and pushing/pulling, a piece of string and a lot of swearing. The ewe hates me to this day ;)

      My workplace had a calf with head turned VERY stubbornly. The experienced mom stopped pushing right after front hooves were out so I investigated and couldn't find the head even shoulder deep. Farmer came to take over, but he couldn't keep the head straight with hand (the calf flipped it to the side again the second we tried pulling), so he called for vet (+student vet) and requested they bring the calf eye hook.
      They tried to place the eye hooks, but no-one managed to get them on securely. Vet had short arms for the job... In the end the student vet managed to grab the calf securely by the lower jaw/mouth, and was able to keep it straight for the pull out.
      I was sure the calf would be dead but nope, very sprightly heifer calf acted like it had been no problem! She's herself getting ready to calf this spring. Mom was fine too, no infection despite half a dozen people reaching in with and without gloves and all kinds of devices😅 (Mom did leave for greener pastures that year, it was her 7th freshen which is up there for a dairy cow)

    I'm so sorry about your Bobcat
    If I would have found your channel then I would've suggested to take part of her kits to give to your doe with only 2, another good reason to breed 2 does same time. Some times We learn the hard way , its farm life we learn as we go
    I love what you're doing there, especially raising a rare breed of rabbit and I love that you're interested in that chicken, I hear they're quite the characters, funny.
    I know you will do a good job of holding to their Standard , yes I would like to see more on them and of coarse the baby goats 💖

    So, I never wanted goats with horns. But the lamanchas I found weren’t disbudded. I didn’t think it’d be a problem till one accidentally poked me in the eye with her horn! Thankfully my eye was just bruised. And it was an accident. But I am fully on team disbudding from now on!

    • @TealStoneHomestead
      @TealStoneHomestead  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s definitely not a fun task, but I worry I would end up with a goat getting caught in a fence and getting strangled if I didn’t do it. I’m glad your goat didn’t damage your eye more than just bruising!

    Thank you for the suggestion on adding a lid prop! We're hopefully going to be tackling making your hutches this month, and we'll definitely be adding the props to them. Still trying to figure out a way to add padlock attachments (we're in the suburbs, so there's a small concern about someone possibly wanting to come into our yard to mess with the rabbits). I'll let you know if we do that so you can share that customization option too!

    Good job on the goaties! That's how my introduction to birthing goats was! Should be smooth sailing now. Lol. I treated mom with penicillin because I introduced alot of bacteria trying to move babies around.

    Hi Tiffany, your videos are very educational and I am enjoying them, however some times they are confusing in the sense that I cannot tell the sequence that they were made. II think that if you could date them somehow it would be easier to follow along. Yoy have plans for 'growout' hutches and have made updates for them which is fine. You also have buck hutches and other hutches which are painted green and hold KWcages. Which hutches do you actually use outdoors. and how do you assign bucks and does to which cages?

    The prop probably needs to have a groove to keep the stick from being knocked one way or the other and the lid fall.

    I bred my bunny, and it's day 20, and she has already started pulling fur and making a nest. Is this normal? I've bred her before, and she didn't nest so early, so im concered she will have them premature.

    So is the "creme dwarf" goal a Nethie with creme colour, or tiny creme d'argente, or something in between?
    1/2 of the babies should have the dwarf gene with squashed nose, and 1/2 not have it but still be smaller than pure creme d'argente. That could be a quick exclusion of potential keepers, dwarf type face or non dwarf being the goal...

    • @TealStoneHomestead
      @TealStoneHomestead  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Small Creme d’Argent with a few other traits thrown in (eventually). So ideally I’m looking for a compact body type and I will likely avoid the dwarf gene. An orange Nethie was the fastest way to “shrink” the breed 😂 I tried a fawn silver cross in the past and they all got huge!
