I hate when people harass and attack actors/actresses because they don’t like the character they play. If you wanna be mad at someone about bad characters/plots, be mad at the writers, the directors, not the people who are just following the script they’ve been given.
Awkwafuka has been terrible in every single movie she's played in. Her performances have been so bad that movies featuring her have flopped at the box office. Her hip-hop career is terrible at best and downright racist at its worst. Why would you expect audiences to reward her for being the worst part of every project she's attached to?

There are always good thieves in movies and stories that try to help the poor so she could also be someone like that or chameleon killed her parents and thus making her live on the street

1) I feel Po will initially try to give the Dragon Warrior Title to Tigress to make up for the past but she will decline the offer as she feels she no longer needs it. She will most likely either travel the world and discover her origin in order to obtain Inner Peace, relocate to the Panda Village, or become the New Caretaker of Bao Gu Orphanage. 2) Zhen could have a stereotype arc as just like Pandas are sean as fat/lazy and tigers seen as ferocious being a fox usually indicates being a sly thief. In KFP LOA there are the foxes Junjie (a Master who schemed to take over as Grand Master of the Jade Palace out of jealousy) and Mei Ling the Vixen (a on-off love interest, ally, and acquaintance of Shifu who was a thief but never wanted to truly hurt anyone). Even the IDW Comics had villainous foxes like Qinchu and Kitsune. An online game did have ally fox named Kai who was a wandering student who accidentally gets possessed by an evil mask and you have to save them. 3) Zhen is more likely to be the new leader of the Furious Five as the current have probably retired to become Masters with their own goals yet will still reunite when needed: Viper will take over her father's role so he can retire, Crane will return to Li Dai to teach alongside Mei Ling the Mountain Lion to ensure no one will be outright denied a chance to try Kung Fu, Monkey will travel the land and find troubled youths to give them a noble purpose like Oogway did for him, Mantis will become a traveling warrior/acupuncturist, and Tigress (see above) and be Po's closest ally and friend ... and maybe more.
Pretty sure Angelina Jolie is retired from acting, so we either won’t see Tigress at all, or she will be a different voice actress and have a very brief appearance

If honestly argue with you. Zhen is a good character in concept but in execution she was extremely empty. The character had all of the shitty backstory tropes and was nearly as empty as the chameleon. After taking this creative direction, not only did DreamWorks disappoint the fans by giving the literal role of Dragon warrior to a bloody filler, they stripped the whole idea of a tai lung forgiveness and reconciliation story, and also stripped tigress of the role she trained for since birth. DreamWorks really have to work hard for the sequel to merge zhen with the Five and create an emotional relationship, or she just stays a character catering to furries and kids. That's it
@@inventorofideas7604 We didn’t get Po’s backstory until Kung Fu Panda 2, but he manage to win people over for being a likeable character. In the first film, all we knew about him was that he was raised at a noodle shop by a goose. His backstory wasn’t expanded until the sequel. All we know about Zhen so far was that she grew up on the streets as an orphan, but the next sequels will probably expand on her backstory some more, such as her family. All Zhen needed to be for now is be a fun and likeable character filled with a lot of personality and show a lot of chemistry with Po. That does not make her a filler character. And also, even if Tai Lung did get a redemption story, why would that make him deserving for the Dragon Warrior title when it was the main reason why he became bad in the first place. Sure, Shifu was filling his head with the desire for the title for years, but Tai Lung literally became violent just because he wasn’t given the role. As for Tigress, the series had two sequels that didn’t bring back up on how she didn’t get the title she trained for. And she wasn’t the only one either, the rest of the Furious Five trained hard for the title as well but in the past sequels, they seem like they’re already over that. Unless the past sequels showed her still desiring the title, there’s no real takeaway for her not being the Dragon Warrior. If anything, it shows character growth for her accepting of not getting the title.
I don't hate Zhen, I'm more just disappointed. It feels like her character was rushed. I'm not gonna pretend like most of the Five were super deep or had a whole lot of plot relevance in the films (aside from Tigress they're kinda one note) ; but Zhen is the movie's duteragonist and she just kinda feels half-baked for most of it. Honestly my biggest issue is that I don't believe the script did a very good job of explaining why Po has to give up the Dragon Warrior title and why Zhen should be his successor. It feels like they plopped her down in front of us and said "Here's the new Dragon Warrior, have fun with her," and left.
I'd argue against her being a Mary Sue entirely, to be honest. She begins her character arc being a crook, learns the values of friendship, teamwork and patience from Po, and reforms in the end.
They gave a theif and a criminal the dragon warrior title, when tai lung could of had the best redemption arc and become the warrior himself. If that had happen i would literally had paid in advance for KFP5 I CANT BELIEVE MESSED UP THIS BAD. I think my chapter with KFP IS FINISHED

I don't know who she is, but my first impression of this character was that she seemed cool but the voice seemed off / didn't match her. It's not horrible, and I eventually sort of got used to it, but definitely would've liked to see her with another voice

How can be a random street Bandit that's mostly relying on 'street skills' outakes a 5 warrior that has 20+ years of Training Kung Fu in highland Dojo to be appointed as a new Dragon Warrior, the plot itself really makes no sense, it just about to fill up stuffs.
To be fair not that I’m disagreeing but po had no experience then took on tai lung the strongest living warrior at his time on a very short time after receiving his training
I don't like Zhen because she looks like a villain than deuteragonist. And Po's successor is not a good idea like valkyrie from Thor she isn't a good queen.

I don't hate Zhen, but the Furious Five shouldn't have been sidelined like this. I feel like Po and Zhen have a similar background, with both of them orphaned and being raised from a humble beginning, having to struggle and work hard to gain any place or respect in the world despite how people saw them as lost causes. I also feel Tai Lung should've been given a more fleshed out redemption arc, losing his skill to the Chameleon, and having to rely on Po to gain back some kung fu fighting ability, while learning humility and regret for his actions. In terms ofva student to pass the torch to, you can do worse than Zhen. Just look at the four panda cubs in Paws of Destiny. Seeing that trio of Po, Zhen, and Tai Lung working together could've been amazing.
I really don’t like Zhen becoming the new DW all that much because I worry it’s gonna be a “Mary-Sue” Situation. That, and her character doesn’t strike out to me like “She should be the new Dragon Warrior!” But we will see when the movie Releases. Saying that, I also Don’t think Tigress Should be the Dragon Warrior Either, Because 1: it contradicts the First Movie which tells her that the role is not meant for her to fulfill despite all the training. 2: she has already accepted That it’s not her path, and in the 4th, The Five are gonna be Going their own paths and missions. As much as she does deserve it and has worked hard for it, It’s not meant to be.

I understand why some people hate her but honestly, I really liked the movie and her character, to me it feels like she's a nice addition to the team and idk if it's because I haven't kept up with the whole voice actress thing but I really liked the voice acting! I did feel like that her arc was a bit of a tumble ride but overall it's really not that bad. At least that's my opinion

So? That didn't stop people from calling Rey one even though she really wasn't. At least not any more than Luke was a Gary Stu. And Rey already had experience from living in a desert planet her whole life wielding weapons like her staff. The only real reasons she even beat Kylo Ren in TFA is because he got shot in the chest by Chewies Bow, he was in shock from killing his father, he was tired, he was even more tired and weakened when he fought Finn who actually injured him too, he wasn't trying to kill her but make her his apprentice, she literally had the Force helping her wield that thing, and etc. And by the 9th film she was even more called one. Even though by then she already trained with Luke for a few weeks, practiced using a lightsaber a whole lot, went on missions, was literally trained by Leia for over a year and a half, and she had Luke's sacred Jedi texts, and etc.
@@movielover7565 I don't think Rey is so much a Mary Sue because of her physical abilities that she started out with at the beginning of the movie due to her prior experiences, but because she had literally no experience with the force at the beginning of the movie, and suddenly she's using mond manipulation and all that stuff out of the blue before she even meets Luke. For me, that isn't exactly what bothers me, maybe she's just a natural, which I do believe people like that exist, what I don't like was how they portrayed Luke and brought him down from his previous installments, basically invalidating all his previous story arc as the one who would bring back the Jedi, and instead deleted all his progress to give that accomplishment to Rey instead, she's not taking over from Luke because he's succeeded and it's time for him to move on, she's taking over because Luke failed. Po on the other hand, yes he's moving on from the role of the Dragon Warrior, but you can still see how much impact he's had, he's had a fullfilling successful career that he can be proud of, something Luke was completely cheated out of.

Also lets compare Rey's training to Luke, Anakin and Obi-wan in the old star wars movies. All of them got more training than Rey. Rey what did she do? All that training to slash a rock? She unfortunately is a Mary Sue. I didnt like her writing that much. She had an alright arc but it was so on the nose and forced. She did things that I feel like she didnt deserve. I have strong reason to suspect that there are certain groups or entities who are paid to go online to spread negativity for charecters or movies on purpose. Ive seen this exact same hate towards Awkwafina for her other roles for nearly no given reason other than "she's in it".
Well some months later I can say that however you may feel about the movie you can’t deny Zhen is so freaking cute, fluffy and pretty. She is the cutest fox girl ever and I would have adopted her as a child. Not to mention I just want to give her a big hug and cuddle her. Additionally I would fluff her adorable fluffy tail as well.

The whole point in a new trilogy is bringing in new characters. I get it causs the Furious Five have been around since the first movie but we all shouldn't jump into conclusions. I watched it in movie theaters days ago. It's sheit deal with it. All of the four films were supposed to be about Po the dragon warrior, not Kung Fu Fox. Zhen an barely known character. Pffftt becomes dragon warrior for turning a new leaf of goodness and helping Po defeat Chameleon xD Mary fuking Sue. Zhen has zero redemption arc. Poorly written

I watch all the kung fu panda movies including the recent one and I can say Zhen is not a marrysue and I actually really enjoyed her character she wasn't perfect and she made mistakes through out the hole movie and she learned from them.

Maybe try to put together all the movies and why those movies are having 1 2 3 and 4 or series continuation. What was meant to be learned or told. They were pushing Po's story too damn fast and he still learned nothing and is still a dumb panda. How many times was he taught by Sifu and Oogway them giving him good advice. Even Sifu warned him many times in the movie KFP4 (Kung Fu Panda 4). Yet he just ignores it.
On one hand, she is taking the place of beloved characters. That will almost always be met with backlash even if the character is good. On the other, the way she has been seemingly forced into the story doesn't do it justice.

Honestly, as a viewer that paid to watch this movie in the nearby theaters, I can understand why Zhen's labeled as a "Mart Sue". But here's what's ALSO labeled in KFP1, 2 and 3, and that is u can find value in unexpected places. At least that's the teaching of Master Oogway.

3) Zhen is more likely to be the new leader of the Furious Five as the current have probably retired to become Masters with their own goals yet will still reunite when needed: Viper will take over her father's role so he can retire, Crane will return to Li Dai to teach alongside Mei Ling the Mountain Lion to ensure no one will be outright denied a chance to try Kung Fu, Monkey will travel the land and find troubled youths to give them a noble purpose like Oogway did for him, Mantis will become a traveling warrior/acupuncturist, and Tigress (see above) and be Po's closest ally and friend ... and maybe more.
Pretty sure Angelina Jolie is retired from acting, so we either won’t see Tigress at all, or she will be a different voice actress and have a very brief appearance

The character had all of the shitty backstory tropes and was nearly as empty as the chameleon. After taking this creative direction, not only did DreamWorks disappoint the fans by giving the literal role of Dragon warrior to a bloody filler, they stripped the whole idea of a tai lung forgiveness and reconciliation story, and also stripped tigress of the role she trained for since birth. DreamWorks really have to work hard for the sequel to merge zhen with the Five and create an emotional relationship, or she just stays a character catering to furries and kids. That's it

We didn’t get Po’s backstory until Kung Fu Panda 2, but he manage to win people over for being a likeable character. In the first film, all we knew about him was that he was raised at a noodle shop by a goose. His backstory wasn’t expanded until the sequel. All we know about Zhen so far was that she grew up on the streets as an orphan, but the next sequels will probably expand on her backstory some more, such as her family. All Zhen needed to be for now is be a fun and likeable character filled with a lot of personality and show a lot of chemistry with Po. That does not make her a filler character.
And also, even if Tai Lung did get a redemption story, why would that make him deserving for the Dragon Warrior title when it was the main reason why he became bad in the first place. Sure, Shifu was filling his head with the desire for the title for years, but Tai Lung literally became violent just because he wasn’t given the role.
As for Tigress, the series had two sequels that didn’t bring back up on how she didn’t get the title she trained for. And she wasn’t the only one either, the rest of the Furious Five trained hard for the title as well but in the past sequels, they seem like they’re already over that. Unless the past sequels showed her still desiring the title, there’s no real takeaway for her not being the Dragon Warrior. If anything, it shows character growth for her accepting of not getting the title.
I honestly loved Zhen in the movie
I don't hate Zhen, I'm more just disappointed. It feels like her character was rushed. I'm not gonna pretend like most of the Five were super deep or had a whole lot of plot relevance in the films (aside from Tigress they're kinda one note) ; but Zhen is the movie's duteragonist and she just kinda feels half-baked for most of it.
Honestly my biggest issue is that I don't believe the script did a very good job of explaining why Po has to give up the Dragon Warrior title and why Zhen should be his successor. It feels like they plopped her down in front of us and said "Here's the new Dragon Warrior, have fun with her," and left.
I'd argue against her being a Mary Sue entirely, to be honest. She begins her character arc being a crook, learns the values of friendship, teamwork and patience from Po, and reforms in the end.
They gave a theif and a criminal the dragon warrior title, when tai lung could of had the best redemption arc and become the warrior himself. If that had happen i would literally had paid in advance for KFP5 I CANT BELIEVE MESSED UP THIS BAD. I think my chapter with KFP IS FINISHED

I don't hate Zhen, but the Furious Five shouldn't have been sidelined like this. I feel like Po and Zhen have a similar background, with both of them orphaned and being raised from a humble beginning, having to struggle and work hard to gain any place or respect in the world despite how people saw them as lost causes. I also feel Tai Lung should've been given a more fleshed out redemption arc, losing his skill to the Chameleon, and having to rely on Po to gain back some kung fu fighting ability, while learning humility and regret for his actions. In terms ofva student to pass the torch to, you can do worse than Zhen. Just look at the four panda cubs in Paws of Destiny.
Seeing that trio of Po, Zhen, and Tai Lung working together could've been amazing.

She's not a Mary Sue, she has experience because she's a thief, but there is also room for her character to develop, in more ways than one.
So? That didn't stop people from calling Rey one even though she really wasn't. At least not any more than Luke was a Gary Stu. And Rey already had experience from living in a desert planet her whole life wielding weapons like her staff. The only real reasons she even beat Kylo Ren in TFA is because he got shot in the chest by Chewies Bow, he was in shock from killing his father, he was tired, he was even more tired and weakened when he fought Finn who actually injured him too, he wasn't trying to kill her but make her his apprentice, she literally had the Force helping her wield that thing, and etc.
And by the 9th film she was even more called one. Even though by then she already trained with Luke for a few weeks, practiced using a lightsaber a whole lot, went on missions, was literally trained by Leia for over a year and a half, and she had Luke's sacred Jedi texts, and etc.
@@movielover7565 I don't think Rey is so much a Mary Sue because of her physical abilities that she started out with at the beginning of the movie due to her prior experiences, but because she had literally no experience with the force at the beginning of the movie, and suddenly she's using mond manipulation and all that stuff out of the blue before she even meets Luke. For me, that isn't exactly what bothers me, maybe she's just a natural, which I do believe people like that exist, what I don't like was how they portrayed Luke and brought him down from his previous installments, basically invalidating all his previous story arc as the one who would bring back the Jedi, and instead deleted all his progress to give that accomplishment to Rey instead, she's not taking over from Luke because he's succeeded and it's time for him to move on, she's taking over because Luke failed.
Po on the other hand, yes he's moving on from the role of the Dragon Warrior, but you can still see how much impact he's had, he's had a fullfilling successful career that he can be proud of, something Luke was completely cheated out of.

Well some months later I can say that however you may feel about the movie you can’t deny Zhen is so freaking cute, fluffy and pretty. She is the cutest fox girl ever and I would have adopted her as a child. Not to mention I just want to give her a big hug and cuddle her. Additionally I would fluff her adorable fluffy tail as well.

The whole point in a new trilogy is bringing in new characters. This is a new trilogy and they are bringing in more to the franchise even if that means expanding away from the furious five unfortunately. On one hand, she is taking the place of beloved characters. That will almost always be met with backlash even if the character is good. On the other, the way she has been seemingly forced into the story doesn't do it justice.

Honestly, as a viewer that paid to watch this movie in the nearby theaters, I can understand why Zhen's labeled as a "Mart Sue". But here's what's ALSO labeled in KFP1, 2 and 3, and that is u can find value in unexpected places. At least that's the teaching of Master Oogway.
